Everybody has been living for these Verzuz battles on Instagram Live. A definite source of entertainment during quarantine, some of the most iconic recording artists of all time have gone head-to-head in a celebration of the culture. We recently saw Teddy Riley go up against Babyface and battles have been proposed between Dr. Dre and Diddy and Three 6 Mafia and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Even 50 Cent is being called upon to decide once and for all who has the better hits between himself and Ja Rule.

The next battle will take place this weekend, marking the first time two women will be participating on Verzuz. Erykah Badu v. Jill Scott was announced last week and 50 Cent came up with a hilarious name for their face-off.

“The Magic Box battle,” wrote the rapper on Instagram, joking about both artists. “Don’t ask me what this is about, stay out of grown folk’s business,” he continued in the caption.

The battle between Badu and Scott was announced by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, who have been doing a masterful job of organizing the Verzuz challenges. It will take place on May 9, which just so happens to be the day before Mother’s Day.
