Considering she’s a Destiny’s Child icon, it seems only fitting that Kelly Rowland would be apart of the Roc Nation family. Her lifelong personal and professional relationship with best friend and “sister” Beyoncé is well-known, so many assumed that she would partner her business with Knowles-Carters. However, that wasn’t the case…until now. In an interview with The Associated Press, Kelly Rowland briefly mentions her new management deal with Roc Nation and talks at end about her latest single “Coffee” along with her forthcoming project.

“I’m very excited about this album. I’m excited for the fact that the years that it took me to find tempo,” Kelly told AP. “The whole album’s not up-tempo, but I’m excited to share my tempo. I feel like I always had mids and slower records but yeah, I’m ready to dance. Especially when we come out of all this, we need to dance.” She also added that the album is almost finished, but she just needs to squeeze in one more song.
Kelly Rowland also mentioned that she’s an independent artist, and AP wanted to know if the project was going to be released through Roc Nation. The singer stated that Roc Nation was her management company and that it was a new deal. “It’s family and it just happened. It just really happened to work and it’s working out really well so far,” Kelly added. “My team, I have a great team. It’s not to say I didn’t have a great team before, I had a great team before. You evolve, you move on and that’s really it and Roc Nation is home now.”
The quarantine may have slowed down the release of Kelly’s record, but she promises that it will be delivered this year. Are you looking forward to more from Kelly Rowland?
