Spotify has officially unveiled its most streamed artists, songs, and albums of all time, providing a definitive look at the music that has defined the platform since its inception in 2006. The announcement coincides with the streaming giant’s 20th anniversary, marking the first time the company has shared its comprehensive all-time streaming data.
As expected, the charts are dominated by global superstars. Taylor Swift has been crowned the most streamed artist of all time on the service. In the albums category, Bad Bunny’s 2022 release Un Verano Sin Ti claims the top spot, while The Weeknd’s 2019 global smash ‘Blinding Lights’ holds the title for the most streamed song in Spotify history.
The data also highlights the enduring popularity of artists such as Ed Sheeran, Drake, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Billie Eilish. Notably, Arctic Monkeys’ 2013 album AM secured the ninth position on the albums chart, with its closing track ‘I Wanna Be Yours’—an adaptation of a John Cooper Clarke poem—reaching Number 12 on the songs list.
Other notable entries include Glass Animals’ 2020 breakout hit ‘Heat Waves’ and Coldplay’s ‘Yellow’, which remains a staple of the platform despite being released six years before Spotify launched.
