The premiere and MUBI release date for Cameron Winter‘s Live At Carnegie Hall film have been confirmed. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson – the acclaimed Oscar-winning director known for One Battle After Another, There Will Be Blood, and Phantom Thread – the film captures the Geese frontman live in New York, as he performed a solo show at Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium on December 11, 2025.

Shot on 35mm and 16mm, the gig followed Geese’s extensive North American tour and features piano-led renditions of tracks from Winter’s 2024 solo album, Heavy Metal. Fans previously spotted Anderson filming the performance, with production assistance provided by Benny Safdie.

Premiere Details and Global Release

The film is set for its world premiere at the 64th New York Film Festival, running from September 25 to October 12, followed by a UK premiere at the 70th BFI London Film Festival between October 7 and 18.

MUBI has secured the global acquisition of the film—excluding North America—with a streaming release slated for 2027. In North America, the film will be released by Janus Films and Criterion. Additionally, theatrical screenings are planned across North America later this year, with tickets available starting September 17.

A Dual Release

The Carnegie Hall performance will also be released as Winter’s debut live album, Live At Carnegie Hall, arriving October 9 via Partisan Records and Play It Again Sam. The album was recorded, produced, and mixed by Ariel Rechtshaid, who also oversaw the music production for the film.

This project marks another collaboration between Anderson and the music world, following his previous work with artists such as Radiohead, The Smile, and Haim. Winter is currently back on the road with Geese, following a highly successful 2025 that saw the band top critical lists and perform at major festivals including Reading & Leeds and End of the Road.
