Rhian Teasdale, the lead singer of the acclaimed indie-rock band Wet Leg, is set to make her beauty campaign debut. Though she hails from the remote Isle of Wight in the U.K., Teasdale perfectly captures the vibrant, kinetic spirit of New York City in a new short film for Milk Makeup, which is scheduled for release on Monday, September 14.
The upcoming project features Teasdale alongside a diverse cast of local New York City creatives. These participants were selected from an impressive pool of over 1,000 hopefuls who attended Milk Makeup’s open casting call held on July 17 at the brand’s Soho offices. The production boasts a high-profile creative team, directed by Arnaud Uyttenhove, with choreography by Sergio Reis—the visionary behind the movement in Troye Sivan’s viral music videos for “Rush” and “Got Me Started.” The film’s aesthetic is further elevated by the styling of Sarah Richardson, Editor-in-Chief of Beyond Noise.
Teasdale’s ascent to global recognition has been nothing short of meteoric. Since co-founding Wet Leg with Hester Chambers, the band saw a massive breakthrough with their 2022 single “Chaise Longue.” Their self-titled debut album, released the same year, secured two Grammy Awards, cementing their status as modern rock icons. They continued to build on that momentum with their 2025 release, moisturizer, which featured the hard-hitting track “mangetout.”
By stepping into the world of beauty, Teasdale is translating the raw, unfiltered energy of her music into a new visual medium. Fans can look forward to the official premiere of the Milk Makeup short film on September 14.
