The Department of Homeland Security has hit back at Hayley Williams after she shouted “Fuck ICE” while on stage during a recent performance. The comments were made while the Paramore frontwoman was performing at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheater in California on Saturday, October 3, as part of her ongoing solo tour.
During her set, Williams paused midway through her 2025 track ‘Ice In My OJ’ to express her frustration with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement department. In addition to her comments regarding ICE, she also voiced support for Palestine, a cause she has championed throughout her recent live appearances.

Following the incident, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security addressed the singer’s remarks, urging her to reconsider her stance on federal law enforcement. “America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe,” the spokesperson stated in comments provided to Fox News Digital. “We suggest Ms. Williams to thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice.”
Williams has a long history of using her platform to engage in political discourse. She has previously been vocal in her opposition to Donald Trump, criticizing his administration’s policies regarding women, marginalized communities, and the LGBTQ population. Her recent actions follow a broader trend of artists using their live shows to protest ICE, with figures such as Olivia Rodrigo, Bruce Springsteen, and Radiohead previously speaking out against the organization’s practices.
As her solo tour continues, Williams remains focused on her music and advocacy, recently bringing out Rico Nasty for a surprise collaboration and announcing plans for a European and UK tour in 2027. Despite the controversy surrounding her latest on-stage comments, the singer continues to draw significant crowds as she navigates her solo career.
