Billy Idol’s Iconic ‘Rebel Yell’ Receives Premium Vinyl Reissue

Billy Idol’s Rebel Yell is getting a premium vinyl reissue. Interscope-Capitol will release an all-analog, 180-gram One-Step edition of the 1983 album on November 20, with pre-orders open now.

Released November 10, 1983, Rebel Yell was Billy Idol‘s second solo album and the record that turned the former Generation X frontman into a star. Produced by Keith Forsey and featuring guitar work from Steve Stevens, it reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum in the U.S. “Eyes Without a Face” became Idol’s first U.S. Top 10 single, peaking at No. 4 on the Hot 100, while the title track and “Flesh for Fantasy” became fixtures on radio and MTV.

The new reissue edition was mastered from the original analog tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. The new vinyl reissue will be limited to 3,000 numbered copies with each record housed in a gatefold jacket and slipcase with a certificate of authenticity detailing the mastering, plating, and pressing chain.
