Apple Music has announced the line-up for its New Year’s Eve livestream events.
To ring in 2025, Apple Music has amassed an eclectic performance line-up for its two New Year’s Eve livestreams – both titled Apple Music Live: NYE. The first livestream will feature Björk performing a rare DJ set, and will also include performances from Apple Music’s Tim Sweeney and London DJ Naina. The performances were recorded at London’s The Cause, and will stream on December 31 via Apple Music Club and Apple Music 1 at 9pm GMT.
The aforementioned sets from Björk, Sweeney and Naina will be broadcast as audio-only streams.
From 11pm GMT onwards, the second round of Apple Music Live: NYE celebrations will kick off – this time in video format, with performances from Skepta and Uncle Waffles, also recorded at The Cause. These performances will stream on Apple Music, and on Apple Music Club and Apple Music 1.
However, that’s not all Apple Music has planned for the day. Besides the two Apple Music Live: NYE sets, Apple Music is – per The Line of Best Fit – curating a 24-hour programming on Apple Music Club and Apple Music 1 with special DJ mixes from the likes of Justice, Rüfüs Du Sol, horsegiirL, John Summit, Jyoty, Kayan, DIDI Han, SPINALL, Skratch Bastid and more.
Apple Music’s New Year’s Eve programming comes after Björk recently concluded a sound exhibition at Paris’ Centre Pompidou from November 20 until December 9. Titled ‘Natural Manifesto’, it comprised of a 3-minute 40-second piece of audio that used AI software to recreate the sound of extinct animals and merge them with spoken word vocals.
Prior to that, Björk launched Cornucopia: The Book, which served as physical commemoration of the artist’s boundary-breaking ‘Cornucopia’ tour that morphed through multiple iterations over the last five years – the book is available for purchase here.
