Ex-Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson has a new band called Dieth – and they’ve released a new single called ‘In the Hall of the Hanging Serpents’ – check it out below. The band is made up of singer-guitarist Guilherme Miranda (formerly a member of Entombed A.D.) and drummer Michał Łysejko (who was previously in Decapitated). A second guitarist, Michał Grall, appears featured in the video, but has not yet been confirmed as an official band member. The man who was granted a restraining order against Ricky Martin recently is the singer’s 21-year-old nephew, it has been claimed. Last week, Puerto Rican authorities revealed that the Latin pop hitmaker had been issued with restraining order which local sources have speculated was an administrative filing by a former partner. The shortlist for the 2022 Polaris Prize has been revealed, with Destroyer, Charlotte Day Wilson and more all making the cut. The annual Canadian music prize, which was won last year by Cadence Weapon, “honours and rewards artists who produce Canadian music albums of distinction”. Previous winners include Kaytranada, Caribou and Fucked Up.
