Mad Cool Announces Comprehensive Transport Plan for 2026

Enhanced Connectivity for the 10th Anniversary

Mad Cool Festival has officially announced a new transport plan for 2026, designed to streamline the experience for thousands of attendees traveling to and from the Iberdrola Music Villaverde site. As the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary between July 8 and 11, organizers have prioritized accessibility, ensuring that fans can navigate the event with greater ease.

In collaboration with the Madrid City Council, the Government Delegation, and local law enforcement, the festival has secured extended operating hours for public transport. This initiative aims to reduce congestion and provide reliable travel options for the massive crowds expected for performances by artists such as Pulp, Foo Fighters, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

Public Transport and Shuttle Services

A cornerstone of the new plan is the extension of Madrid Metro Line 3. Services will run until 2am on Thursday morning and until 3am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings, specifically to accommodate festival-goers departing from the Villaverde Alto station. Additionally, the Cercanías Line C4 will offer extended hours and special, free-of-charge services running directly from Villaverde Alto to Atocha, bypassing intermediate stops to improve passenger flow.

For those preferring road transport, the festival has introduced a free shuttle bus service connecting the site to Madrid city centre. These buses will operate during the same late-night windows as the rail services. Furthermore, several existing bus lines, including the 22, 79, T41, and N14, will continue to serve the area, providing robust connectivity for attendees.

Safety and Logistics

To ensure a smooth experience, the festival has implemented strict logistical measures. Only one designated taxi rank will be available on Calle San Eustaquio, while private hire vehicles are directed to a specific meeting point at the corner of Calle Valle de Tobalina and Calle San Ezequiel. Enhanced pedestrian safety measures, including clear signage and dedicated stewards, will be present throughout the site to guide visitors.

The 2026 lineup remains one of the most anticipated in the festival’s history, featuring a diverse array of talent including Twenty One Pilots, Halsey, and Pixies. With these infrastructure improvements, Mad Cool continues to solidify its reputation as a world-class event, balancing high-profile entertainment with a commitment to attendee comfort and safety.
