Mark Tuan has returned with a new solo single, ‘imysm’, released alongside a touching music video.
The Taiwanese-American musician, who is also a part of K-pop boyband GOT7, unveiled the new solo track earlier today (July 1), which premiered alongside its accompanying video treatment.
The clip notably includes footage of Tuan performing at GOT7’s sold-out fanmeet event in Bangkok, Thailand earlier in May, where the song was first performed. “I’m so different when you’re gone and I don’t wanna be alone / It’s too much / Wherever you are I miss you / I miss you so much,” he croons on the English track’s chorus.
‘imysm’ is the latest in a string of solo releases by the K-pop idol this year, preceded by the songs ‘lonely’, ‘save me’, ‘my life’ and ‘Last Breath’. All five tracks are expected to appear on his forthcoming debut solo album, said to be slated for release before the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, Tuan, along with the remaining six members of GOT7, made their long-awaited return as a group in May with their eponymous mini-album, featuring the title track ‘NANANA’. It marked the septet’s first record together since they departed from their previous management JYP Entertainment in January last year.
Their last mini-album prior to that was the April 2020 release ‘Dye’, which was followed by their fourth studio album ‘Breath Of Love: Last Piece’ in November the same year. GOT7 had also released the single ‘Encore’ in February 2021.
Speaking to GQ Australia in a recent interview, the boyband also revealed that JYP Entertainment’s offer for the group to resign with the agency “wasn’t bad”. However, leader JAY B shared that their different visions for their futures was what led to their eventual departures.
