Lots of artists have attempted to fuse traditional music from various parts of the world, but in terms of artistic results, Omer Kringel is surely among the most successful ones, especially thanks to his latest release, a colourful and powerful record titled OKAN Project, meaning heart in Yuroba language.
A hauntingly beautiful record, OKAN Project counts 10 songs, among which “Sembrar Amor”, the main single which is one of the most streamed and popular songs in its category in Israel.
Planning the project for five years and recording almost 5 weeks of material during his travels in a dozen countries, Omer Kringel is demonstrating his vision and leadership talents in a new light on OKAN Project, accommodating the intricate complexities of Cuban, Colombian, Angolian, Brazilian, and Israeli sounds, straddling worlds in a uniquely elegant way.
