Youngboy Never Broke Again has officially earned his second #1 album on the Billboard 200 album chart, debuting at the pole position with his new project 38 Baby 2. 

Despite moving only 67,000 equivalent album units, which is far less than his last #1 album AI YoungBoy 2 which had 110,000 units in its first week, 38 Baby 2 has done enough to start off at the top, beating out the other debuting albums of the week.

As reported by Billboard, Youngboy Never Broke Again is replacing DaBaby‘s Blame It On Baby, which debuted at the top last week. Interestingly enough, this marks the first time that two albums with the word “Baby” in their titles debut consecutively at #1. Who knew they were keeping track of such random statistics?

It’s a hip-hop heavy Top Five this week as DaBaby follows closely at #2, Lil Uzi Vert‘s Eternal Atake stays strong at #3, and The Weeknd and Lil Baby follow with their recent projects.

This is a celebratory moment for Youngboy Never Broke Again, who has seemingly been going through some personal turmoil as of late. The rapper announced that after the release of 38 Baby 2, he would be taking an indefinite break from releasing new music. His hiatus is in full effect and he has not specified when he will return.

You can love him or hate him — and many fall vehemently into one camp or another — but you can’t deny the passion of YoungBoy Never Broke Again. It tends to bleed into both his music and rants alike, imbuing the former with a welcome sense of vulnerability, the latter with disturbing volatility. Unfortunately, the balance has proven too difficult to bear for the young hip-hop star, who recently vowed to stop releasing new music after his 38 Baby 2 project.

Alas, rappers have long treated retirement like The Boy Who Cried Wolf, often leaving audiences apathetic at the news — after all, they always come back, do they not? Yet for YoungBoy, there seems to be smoke surrounding this particular fire. Akademiks, who has become a de facto conduit for the young generation, took a moment to speak with the Baton Rouge rapper during his personal crisis.

Ak confirms that YoungBoy is not only going through with his hiatus, but also pulling the plug on 38 Baby 2’s initially planned Friday release date — that’s not to say the delay is indefinite, but it should be noted that YoungBoy did not provide an alternative. As Ak explains, YoungBoy has decided to take a break from recording and releasing any new music, committing whole hog to the social-media embargo; however, men have been pulled back into the tortured fields they left behind for years, and it remains to be seen if YoungBoy will be able to resist the siren’s song of twisted social media debauchery.

It appears NBA Youngboy is on his way to having the #1 album in the country next week. According to early projections from HDD, the newly-released 38 Baby 2 album is projected to move 70-75k copies in the first week with about 1-2k coming from pure sales. That should be enough to debut number one on the Billboard 200 next week.

In comparison, NBA’s most recent project, Still Flexin, Still Steppin’, which dropped last month, sold 98,000 equivalent album units, making for another little drop off. Prior to that, NBA released his first #1 album with AI Youngboy 2 back in the Fall of 2019, which sold 110,000 equivalent album units in its first week. So for two projects in a row, NBA has seen a decrease in first week numbers, but don’t think that’s going to bother him all that much.

Out now, 38 Baby 2 features a lone appearance from DaBaby who appears on the song “Thug of Spades,” which is reportedly the highest performing track off the album on streaming services. Be sure to stream the project right here if you haven’t done so already.

Youngboy Never Broke Again released his new album 38 Baby 2 last night and, in doing so, he unleashed his second collaboration with DaBaby in as many weeks. 

The two rappers had rarely collaborated before last week but, with the release of Blame It On Baby, we saw the duo begin to build chemistry on “JUMP.” Now, they’ve got a new track to add to their joint discography called “Thug Of Spades” and DaBaby is starting to earn a lot of respect for his 20-year-old counterpart.

Despite having an eight-year age difference between them, DaBaby and Youngboy Never Broke Again have been working incredibly well together as of late. The Charlotte rapper took time out of his busy music-making schedule to show love to YB, arguing to his critics that he’s much wiser than perceived.

“Capitalize off pain,” wrote Baby on Instagram. “You wise beyond yo years lil bruh. Conrgrats.”

This is the second collaborative single from Youngboy Never Broke Again and DaBaby. Clearly, they’ve been starting to build a strong working relationship, bouncing ideas off one another and delivering some solid vibes for the quarantine.

Despite all the hate that Youngboy gets online, it’s easy to hear his wisdom in his music. The man is just 20-years-old and he already has the ability to dive deep into his emotions for some of the most authentic songs on the market.

Youngboy Never Broke Again‘s love for Yaya Mayweather has been set in stone for the rest of time because, until the world ends, they will be embracing on the cover of his brand new album 38 Baby 2.

That’s right. Those animated figures embracing between the 3 and the 8 on the album artwork… that’s NBA Youngboy and Yaya Mayweather in a brand new photo that was recently uploaded to social media.

A couple of days ago, Yaya changed her profile picture to one of herself (in a jumpsuit that slightly resembles prison attire) and her boyfriend NBA Youngboy. The two stood next to his luxury car and faced off against the world.

While the 38 Baby 2 cover is not exactly the same as the picture we showed you several days ago, the two are eerily similar. The woman on the cover artwork holds YB in an identical manner to Yaya in the picture. One of the only differences is that her leg is raised in the animated version.

The couple has been under fire for much of this year, especially after Yaya Mayweather was arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing Lapattra Jacobs, one of the rapper’s five baby mamas. 

Despite all the madness in their personal lives, Yaya and Youngboy are still very much an item. This only helps solidify that.

Youngboy Never Broke Again seemingly has a magnetic pull toward the ladies because, at this stage, it seems like he can do absolutely anything and they’ll keep running back to him.

Weeks after allegedly being stabbed by the rapper’s current girlfriend Yaya Mayweather, Youngboy’s baby mama Lapattra Jacobs told everyone to go listen to his brand new album on Instagram.

Updating her story on the platform, Jacobs listened to the introductory track on 38 Baby 2, which features YB’s own mother. She wrote a supportive message to the father of her child, encouraging everyone to go and check out the fresh project. 

“Y’all go get that bruh,” wrote Jacobs. “The fucking Slime One.”

Clearly, Lapattra Jacobs is still very fond of her ex-boyfriend Youngboy Never Broke Again, despite what happened several weeks ago. Perhaps she’s waiting for the court to decide on Yaya Mayweather’s fate before choosing sides.

Mayweather is currently facing a maximum sentence of 99 years in prison for the alleged stabbing. 

Youngboy Never Broke Again released his new album last night with features from his mother and Charlotte rapper DaBaby. Previously, Jacobs had told the world that she did not want any extra attention from the attack by Mayweather.

The rapper tweeted out a concerning message this weekend, suggesting that he was having suicidal thoughts. The message was unclear but he seemingly asked fans if they believed it was a good idea for him to end it all. A resounding "NO" was cried out by his loyal supporters and, instead of taking drastic measures, the 20-year-old appears to be taking some much-needed time to heal from all the past trauma in his life.

If you’ve been looking for new music from NBA Youngboy, you’re just in luck. Following a tumultuous past few weeks, the rapper announced that his long-awaited sequel to 38 Baby would finally see a release date. The project is officially due out this Friday and he shared a trailer to make the announcement official.

The rapper is just a few months removed from his last project, Still Flexin Still Steppin that arrived in February. Even with an album out, he continued to release a ton of new singles. “AI Nash” has been making waves since the beginning of the month and shortly after that, he returned with “Step On Sh*t” which was presumably a diss track towardsKodak Black. Hopefully, before the album drops, he lets loose another new single.

NBA Youngboy’s new album comes at the heels of some internet controversy. The rapper’s girlfriend, Yaya Mayweather, was arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing up the rapper’s baby mama. Though that clearly hasn’t affected Youngboy and Yaya’s relationship, she’s looking at some hefty time right now if she’s convicted. 

Following that incident, Kodak Black, from behind bars, began taking aim NBA Youngboy which sparked an even bigger feud involving JackBoy and JayDaYoungen. Clearly, NBA Youngboy isn’t sweating it too much and it keeping his eyes on his goal.
