Machine Gun Kelly said "sayonara" to a racist fan after they told him he'd lost their support because he was attending a protest for George Floyd. For several days now, folks have taken to the streets to protest the unjust murder of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis. One such protester fighting for the end of police brutality and racial injustice was Machine Gun Kelly, who was seen attending the protests in L.A. MGK has been very vocal since George Floyd's murder, taking to Twitter to denounce "white privilege," "the system," and "the Boyz" (cops). He also happily bid adieu to one of his fans who appeared not to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

"On my way to the protest," MGK tweeted on Saturday (May 30th). "See you out there." A troll then felt the need to reply to the tweet, telling MGK that he was "on my way to delete all your albums now." This did not bother the rapper/singer in the slightest; in fact, he told the former fan, "good, i don’t want your racist money."
On Thursday (June 4th), MGK and his good friend, Travis Barker, decided to cover of Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name" in further protest of systemic racism and police brutality. Along with the cover, he shared a music video compiled of footage of the L.A. protests as well as him and Travis jamming out in the studio.
Frank Ocean’s Mom Chooses Between "Channel Orange" & "Blonde"
Frank Ocean's mother, Katonya Breaux Riley, was asked to choose which of her son's studio albums she prefers more: "Channel Orange" or "Blonde."
It's a debate as old as time (or at least 2016): Channel Orange or Blonde? As Frank Ocean's only two studio albums of his career, they are often pitted against one another as folks argue over which body of work ultimately reigns superior over the other. While Channel Orange served as his debut, fans had to wait four long years for Blonde, which made its final arrival much sweeter than it might have been otherwise. Although both are widely regarded as high quality bodies of work, most fans typically prefer one over the other, even if only by a little.

Among those fans are the woman who birthed the artist: Frank's mother, Katonya. On Wednesday, Katonya was asked by poet and writer, AJ Addae, during an interview over Instagram live which of her son's two albums she prefers more. Like so many of Frank's most diehard supporters, Katonya was able to finally settle on one, but it wasn't without some major hesitation and internal debate.
"Blonde. No wait. They were both so good, this is crazy," Katonya noted, struggling to choose. "But I will probably say Blonde. I love 'Pink + White.' OK, Blonde."

"Why Blonde?" AJ pressed. Katonya went on to name all the songs she loves off Blonde in response. "Because I love 'Pink + White' and Beyoncé's on 'Pink + White,'" she explained. "And I love 'Nights,' oh my god...and oh 'White Ferrari!'"
AJ tweeted that she'll be transcribing the full interview and printing it in the May issue of her monthly newsletter, which is dropping in a few days. You can go to the link in her bio to subscribe and be notified when the newsletter is released.
Boosie Badazz Is Dropping Back To Back Albums
Boosie Badazz is battling boredom by blasting out albums at a bedazzling rate, beginning his back-to-back barrage next Monday.
You may love him for the antics, but Boosie Badazz didn’t become the fan-favorite he is today through comedy alone. Over the course of his career, the Baton Rouge rapper has built up a prolific catalog of material ranging from studio albums to mixtapes. He’s seen success and done prison time, seen friendships dissolve and reality TV deals arise, never wavering from his unapologetic principles — whether you like it or not.

Like many of us, the larger than life artist has found himself practicing the subtle art of self-isolation, doing his part to fight the spread of the highly disruptive and deadly coronavirus. In between prowling Instagram Live for breast sightings and running a firesale on verses, Boosie has decided to bring things full circle, back to where it all began: the studio.
In what might very well be the least enthusiastic album announcement of all time, the Badazz confirmed that he’ll be delivering back to back albums on March 30th and April 13th, both Mondays. “Shit, the corona got shit fucked up,” he muses. “So starting next Monday, every other Monday I’m dropping an album. Fuck It. Let’s get it.” As of now, Boosie has yet to reveal a title for either project — will you be checking them out when they arrive?
Nipsey Hussle’s "Victory Lap" Album Has Officially Gone Platinum
The marathon continues.
Nipsey Hussle‘s tragic death last March shook the world to its core, and many of his loved ones and supporters are still mourning the loss of the hip hop legend. Despite the sadness that lingers, celebration is in order for his latest posthumous accomplishment. Nipsey’s debut studio album, Victory Lap, which dropped on February 16th, 2018 less than a month before he passed, has been officially certified platinum.
Victory Lap debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 album chart before returning to hit the number 2 spot. It has now sold over 1,000,000 units based on streams and sales. While Nipsey’s music no doubt speaks for itself, he did see a huge spike in sales and streams following his death as his fans, friends, and family tried to cope with the loss. Before his death, he averaged about 2 million audio streams, but after he passed he earned 10 million audio streams and 57 million that following day. His video streams also rose, going from 900,000 to 9.7 million the day he passed. His legacy continues to be honoured, as it was recently announced that he received three Grammy nominations this year, including “Best Rap Performance” and “Best Rap Song” for “Racks in the Middle,” with Roddy Ricch & Hit-Boy, as well as “Best Rap/Sung Performance” for “Higher,” with DJ Khaled and John Legend.
