Could this be J. Cole's way of telling us that his album is about to drop?
During a performance at Day N Vegas Festival in Las Vegas last year, the globally-celebrated rap artist J. Cole teased that he would be releasing a brand new album soon. Performing in front of graphics that suggested the title of the project would be The Fall Off, we may finally be inching closer unlocking more new music from the North Carolina superstar.
You will recall that on Cole's last full-length album KOD, his sole feature was from kiLL edward. After pulling some detective work, it was revealed that the mysterious artist was actually just J. Cole himself, pitching his vocals and developing a new alter-ego.
Well, that alter-ego has officially returned for the first time in over one year, sending off a tweet and directing people to a private Instagram page.

"IG - healEDWARDdontkill," wrote edward on Twitter.
Belonging to one of hip-hop's highest tiers, new music from J. Cole would excite practically every rap fan in the world. It would serve as a nice supplement to the sonics we've already gotten this year, with many anticipating that it would end up near the top of many "Best Of 2020" lists.
Are you hoping kiLL edward's return to social media means that new music is coming?
Nicki Minaj Reveals New Alter Ego On Upcoming Album
Nicki Minaj revealed that a new alter ego called "Queen Sleaze" will be introduced on her upcoming album.
Nicki Minaj is back in the spotlight after a brief hiatus, and her return has already brought a mountain of chaos. Following a vicious online spat with ex Meek Mill and a massive controversy over a Rosa Parks lyric in her then-unreleased promo single, "Yikes," Nicki has somehow fit a year's worth of drama into less than a week's time, but the Queen is choosing to focus on the music. After "Yikes" was met with major praise from ecstatic fans following its release on Friday, Nicki took to Twitter to interact with the Barbz, the name that her stans assigned themselves as a reference to one of her many alter egos, Barbie. Nicki told fans that she'll be introducing yet another alter ego on her upcoming album that will serve to set the tone for her new era: Queen Sleeze.
Nicki went on to describe Queen Sleeze, indicating that, "She’s more calm but way deadlier."
She also mentioned how her husband, Kenneth Petty, is "more afraid when I talk quiet then when I yell," and that that's "how he knows when I’m dead tf serious." While Barbie appears most often in her music, both lyrically and aesthetically, Nicki is known for her many alter egos including Roman Zolanski and Nicki Lewinsky. During the same Twitter Q&A session, Nicki revealed that her fans and label "bullied" her into releasing "Yikes" after she played a snippet on Instagram earlier this week. "Yikes" will not serve as the official first single off her upcoming album, then, since she never intended to release it so soon. "It's not my single, my single will be launched with a visual," Nicki told the audience at the Pollstar Live Conference on Wednesday. "This is a setup song with no video. Please don't kill me y'all. You guys asked me for that one." Fair enough, Mrs. Petty.

Megan Thee Stallion Explains Why Debut Album Alter Ego, Suga, Is A "Mess"
I like Suga already.
The rollout for Megan Thee Stallion’s highly-anticipated debut album has kicked off and we are gradually learning more details about it. Back in October, the Houston rapper revealed that she would be introducing a new alter ego on this project, whose name will also serve as the project’s title. Her fans got acquainted with Tina Snow and Hot Girl Meg through her previous releases and, now, Suga will get her chance to shine.
We got our first taste of Suga last week when Meg released the album’s lead single, “B.I.T.C.H.“ While we can get a sense of Meg’s new energy on this flip of Tupac’s “Ratha Be Ya N*gga”, she provided her own profile of Suga in her recent interview on Power 106’s “LA Leakers” show. “You know I got a lot of personalities up here in this head,” Meg explained. “So she’s definitely my new persona that I’m introducing to everybody. Letting people know that it’s okay to be a sensitive gangsta.”
When probed further about what distinguishes Suga from Meg’s other alter egos, Meg said that “Suga is just mess.” It seems Suga’s messiness will allow Meg to explore the more complex and emotional sides of herself on her debut. “Like everybody think they so perfect,” Meg told Justin Credible. “Social media got everybody striving for perfection and I’m not gon’ lie – I’m not perfect. I didn’t say I was. I got a whole bunch of stuff going on every day. I’m going through it, but I’m getting through it. So, that’s where Suga is coming from.”
In the interview, Meg also spoke about her experiences working with SZA and Pharrell, who have both been confirmed as features on Suga.
