LaVar Ball has been his kids' biggest advocate over the years although it hasn't always been presented in the best way possible. Ball has been in the news consistently over the last three years thanks to the way he conducts business and hovers over his kids like a cloud. It all started with Lonzo Ball back in 2017 and the trend has continued with sons like LiAngelo and LaMelo.
Today, Ball was back in his old ways as he hit up FS1's Undisputed where he spoke to the likes of Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. The man made some pretty interesting claims about LiAngelo and LaMelo although perhaps it was his Lonzo take that shattered them all. Ball thinks if the Pelicans play the Lakers in the playoffs, Lonzo will lead his team to victory as he will be in "revenge mode."
To be fair, LaVar makes a good point when he says we have never seen Lonzo in the playoffs. Despite this, it's questionable to think Lonzo playoff capabilities will be enough to defeat a powerhouse in the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are one of the most dominant teams on both sides of the court and would eat the Pelicans alive in a seven-game series. Albeit, it would be the most entertaining sweep in NBA history.
All jokes aside, you really have to admire LaVar's boldness when dishing out these takes.
LiAngelo Ball To Sign NBA G League Contract: Report
LiAngelo Ball, who has been practicing with OKC's G League affiliate, is reportedly expected to sign a G League contract soon.
LaVar Ball's dream of seeing his three sons in the NBA isn't dead yet, as The Athletic's Shams Charania reports that LiAngelo Ball has received a contract from the NBA G League and he is expected to sign soon. The 21-year old wing has been practicing with the Oklahoma City Thunder G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, according to Shams.

LiAngelo, who stands 6'7, 235 lbs, signed with the UCLA Bruins after graduating Chino Hills High School but he left the team before ever appearing in a game, and ultimately fled to Lithuania to play alongside his younger brother LaMelo.
He last played basketball competitively in his father's Junior Basketball Association in the summer of 2018, after failing to find a spot on the Los Angeles Lakers roster.
Whether or not LiAngelo is able to shine in the G League and earn a spot on an NBA roster in the future obviously remains to be seen, but his father remains as irrationally confident as ever in his son's ability. News of LiAngelo's G League deal comes just hours after his father LaVar guaranteed that his boy would be an NBA scoring champion within three years.
LaVar also believes that the New York Knicks represent the best fit for his youngest son, LaMelo, but that's a totally different story.

Jeanie Buss Disses Mike D’Antoni Over Dwight Howard Fiasco
Jeanie Buss had some harsh words for the former coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dwight Howard joined the Los Angeles Lakers early last decade and people thought it would turn the squad into a super team that could rival the likes of the Miami Heat. Instead, the Howard experiment turned out to be a bit of a disaster and he left the team after just a short time. Now, Howard is back on the Lakers and is seeing a bit of a resurgence. He's been a huge contributor on a Lakers team that is first in the Western Conference and is expected to make a huge push for a championship.
During a recent conference, Lakers part-owner Jeanie Buss spoke about Howard's first stint in Los Angeles and was quite adamant that it was a coaching issue that kept him from reaching his full potential. For those who forgot, Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni was leading the team at the time.
“We hired a coach that didn’t respect his game and wasn’t going to put him in a position to succeed," Buss said. Clearly, she wasn't happy with D'Antonio's tenure although we can't blame her. The D'Antonio Lakers aren't looked upon fondly by Lakers fans and supporters would probably rather forget that era.
Regardless, you can't help but feel happy for Howard as he excels with the Lakers in his second stint in LA.
Derrick Rose’s Injury Status Updated After Sprained Ankle
Derrick Rose has been a key player for the Detroit Pistons although that could be in jeopardy now.
Derrick Rose has had an interesting NBA career. There were times when people thought he could be the second-coming of Michael Jordan in the city of Chicago. He was supposed to take the NBA crown away from the likes of LeBron James. Unfortunately, an injury changed the entire course of his career. After bouncing around the league quite a bit, Rose landed with the Detroit Pistons in the offseason and has been quite good for them. Unfortunately, Rose suffered a right ankle sprain recently and had an MRI to check the severity of it all.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Rose’s MRI came back negative which is good news. Despite this, he will still have to miss a few weeks of action and will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks. At this point, it’s uncertain as to when he will be back in the lineup.

The Pistons had some potential this season but long losing streaks eventually squandered their playoff chances. They are 12th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 20-42. Moving forward, it’s pretty clear the team won’t make the playoffs, especially if they lose Rose for the rest of the season.
Regardless, it’s been good to see Rose playing like his old self again. It’s just unfortunate we won’t see as much of it in this last stretch of the season.
Reggie Miller Trolls Knicks, Spike Lee Amid Feud
Reggie Miller is taking great joy in the fact that the New York Knicks are beefing with Spike Lee.
The Leon Rose era in New York started off on a high note on Monday night, as the Knicks picked up a hard fought victory over the Houston Rockets at Madison Square Garden. You wouldn't know it though, because the only chatter involving the Knicks today is centered around their bubbling beef with longtime fan Spike Lee.
And as the Knicks' feud with Spike Lee gets uglier by the minute, Reggie Miller is somewhere grinning from ear to ear.

In response to an article about Spike's beef with his beloved franchise, the Indiana Pacers legend tweeted, "OOOOHHHHH have the MIGHTY have fallen.. This wouldn’t happen at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, maybe finally time to switch your allegiance Spike..."
Miller's tweet came just moments after the Knicks issued a statement describing Lee's claims as "laughable" and accusing him of creating "a false controversy to perpetuate drama."
During an appearance on ESPN's First Take on Tuesday morning, Spike explained how he feels that Knicks owner James Dolan is "harassing" him for no reason, and stated that he won't be attending any more games this season. At this rate, it wouldn't surprise anyone if he stays away from MSG for the foreseeable future.
Check out the incident in question, as well as the recent back-and-forth, in the tweets embedded below.
LaVar Ball Says Knicks Are The Best Fit For LaMelo
LaVar Ball doubles down on his hopes for LaMelo Ball to be drafted by the New York Knicks: "Melo is a big city guy."
It's been a while since we've heard from LaVar Ball and although nobody was complaining about that, FS1 felt it necessary to give the Ball Father some air time on Tuesday's episode of Undisputed. As always, LaVar had plenty of outlandish predictions, including how his oldest son Lonzo will lead the Pelicans to victory over the Lakers in the playoffs and how his middle son, LiAngelo, will lead the league in scoring one day.
When the topic shifted to his youngest son, LaMelo, LaVar once again explained that he's hoping to see his son get drafted by the New York Knicks.

When asked by Skip Bayless about his dream scenario for the 2020 NBA Draft, LaVar replied:
"The best fit in my eyes is New York. The New York Knicks. Because I know Melo - Melo is a big city guy, he likes lights, he'd love it." He adds, "Cleveland, he already lived in Cleveland - he don't like that cold weather like that."
This isn't the first time that LaVar has tried to speak LaMelo to the Knicks into existence. During an appearance with TMZ Sports back in January, LaVar made it clear that he's pulling for the Knicks to land the No. 1 overall selection so they can draft LaMelo with the top pick (and later sign Lonzo and LiAngelo as well). As it stands, the Knicks (19-42) have the fifth worst record in the NBA and if the season ended today they would have just a 10.5% chance of securing the No. 1 spot.

Knicks Shoot Down Spike Lee’s "Laughable" False Controversy
New York Knicks issues statement on Spike Lee incident: "It's disappointing that Spike would create this false controversy to perpetuate drama."
The New York Knicks are officially beefing with Spike Lee over a childish dispute about which entrance he is supposed to use when entering Madison Square Garden. Prior to Monday night's victory over the Houston Rockets, Lee was spotted arguing with MSG security guards and yelling, "You wanna arrest me like Charles Oakley?!"
The Knicks attempted to downplay the incident as a simple miscommunication, but Spike went on ESPN's First Take this morning and ripped team owner James Dolan for "harassing him." Mere moments after the segment aired, the Knicks PR account released a statement, labelling Spike's claims as "laughable."

The Knicks' statement reads:
"The idea that Spike Lee is a victim because we have repeatedly asked him to not use our employee entrance and instead use a dedicated VIP entrance - which is used by every other celebrity who enters The Garden - is laughable. It's disappointing that Spike would create this false controversy to perpetuate drama. He is welcome to come to The Garden anytime the VIP or general entrance; just not through our employee entrance, which is what he and Jim agreed to last night when they shook hands."
In addition to those comments about the "false controversy," the Knicks also provided photos of said handshake, and the employee entrance, to really hammer their point home.
Spike, who spends roughly $300,000 annually for his courtside seats, has already said he's done attending Knicks games this season but he may extend his self-imposed ban into next season and beyond at this rate.
LeBron James Had Huge Role In Helping Lakers After Kobe Bryant’s Death
LeBron James played a big role in helping his teammates after the news of Kobe Bryant’s passing.
Kobe Bryant meant a lot to basketball players and fans around the world. Unfortunately, he shockingly passed away on January 26th alongside his daughter Gianna and seven others, in a helicopter crash. The tragedy brought the world together in a time where everyone was sad about what had just transpired. The Los Angeles Lakers found out about Kobe’s passing while on a team flight home from Philadelphia. LeBron James was close to Kobe and immediately felt the loss of his friend.
In a piece from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, LeBron’s role in helping his teammates during the tragedy was outlined quite thoroughly. According to the report, LeBron worked closely with management as well as NBA commissioner Adam Silver. These efforts eventually led to the postponing of a game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Per Windhorst:
“Then, in the wake of Bryant’s death, James worked alongside Buss and general manager Rob Pelinka to help manage his teammates in the emotional days. While Buss and Pelinka provided support to the Bryant family, James connected with team members, and then Silver directly, as he pushed for the postponement of a game against the LA Clippers because he didn’t believe the team was emotionally ready to play.”
Since Kobe’s passing, the team has come through with some incredible tributes and is dedicating the rest of the season in his honor.
Kendrick Perkins Roasts The Knicks For Spike Lee Controversy
Spike Lee found himself in a bit of a predicament with the New York Knicks recently.
Spike Lee has been one of the biggest fans of the New York Knicks over the last few decades even though they haven't really given him very much to cheer about. The Knicks have been an abysmal franchise for many years now and it's quite clear that they won't be getting any better any time soon. Despite Lee's fandom, the Knicks don't seem to value him as a spectator. For instance, last night saw a strange debacle between Lee and security. After being denied entrance through an employee door, Lee went on a tirade before going to his seat another way. Today on First Take, Lee went off on the Knicks and said that Owner James Dolan was harassing him.
Kendrick Perkins has been very critical of the Knicks over the last few years and today, he shared support for Lee on Twitter. He even snapped a pic with the legendary director while in the green room at ESPN.
"When will James Dolan get it? We don’t need the whole story before judging! When you have a reputation of mishandling people that represent the culture of NY basketball, like Charles Oakley — Spike Lee should never have a problem at the Garden. He is the Knicks. It’s inexcusable!" Perkins wrote.
For now, it seems like people are heavily on Lee's side as the Knicks have completely obliterated any chance they have of ever getting the benefit of the doubt again.
Spike Lee Says He’s Being "Harassed" By Knicks’ James Dolan
Spike Lee says he's done attending Knicks games this season as a result of Monday night's altercation with MSG security.
New York Knicks super fan Spike Lee will not be attending any more Knicks games this year, not just because they suck, but because of the way he was treated on Monday night. In case you missed it, Lee was prevented from using a particular entrance prior to the start of last night's game at Madison Square Garden and he could be heard yelling at security guards, "You wanna arrest me like Charles Oakley?!"
The Knicks quickly issued a statement downplaying the incident, which prompted Lee's appearance on ESPN's First Take on Tuesday morning, where he described how he is being harassed by team owner James Dolan. As a result of the whole ordeal, Spike says he's done with the Knicks this season.
Although Spike seemed furious during today's edition of First Take, he did sit in his familiar courtside seat on Monday night as the Knicks kicked off the Leon Rose era with a 125-123 victory over the Houston Rockets. That said, all of the talk concerning last night's game is focused on Spike Lee and his feud with Dolan, rather than RJ Barrett's career-high 27 points or any of the other positives, which are always few and far between for this franchise.
Check out the rest of Spike Lee's appearance on First Take below.
