Earlier today, we reported that Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist were unleashing some new heat tomorrow. There wasn't much information regarding the release in terms of the song title, but we did know that it would be arriving tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST. Well, it looks like a few Twitter sleuths have revealed that the two are releasing an entire project this Friday with the lead single dropping tomorrow. The lead single, titled "Scottie Beam," will feature Rick Ross so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Other than that, there are now rumors of some of the collaborators set to appear on the project, which is said to be titled Alfredo, thanks to the powers of Shazam. Among them are Griselda's Conway and Benny The Butcher as well as Tyler The Creator. A few of these tracks have been teased on Gibbs' Instagram in the past.
Gibbs did confirm the song with Rick Ross on social media after retweeting a tweet from Scottie Beam who inquired about the title. Gibbs also liked a series of tweets suggesting the album is dropping this Friday. Needless to say, we may very well be getting the rap album of the year in less than 48 hours.
There have been a few music critics and publications that have hinted a major hip-hop album dropping this Friday which all point to Freddie Gibbs & Alchemist's ALFREDO. Nothing's been confirmed in terms of the album release date but we will absolutely be getting this Freddie Gibbs x Alchemist ft. Rick Ross tomorrow. That I can assure you.
Shout out to @JefesVault & @OnnThinIce
Benny The Butcher Blasts 6ix9ine: "He’s A Rat, He’s A F*ckin’ Disgrace"
Benny The Butcher is apart of the lengthy list of artists who refuse to support Tekashi 6ix9ine.
Tekashi 6ix9ine continues to be a hot topic of conversation. The rapper-turned-federal informant spent the better part of a year behind bars as he worked out his testimony against his former Nine Trey Gansta Bloods associates, and while they all serve out their lengthy sentences behind bars, 6ix9ine is enjoying his musical comeback now that he’s been released. While he quickly regained his status and broke records with his single “GOOBA,” not everyone is welcoming him home with open arms. Snoop Dogg, Ice-T, Lil Tjay, and many others have disapproved, including Benny The Butcher who wants nothing to do with 6ix9ine.
“Anybody who’s somebody with a pair of eyes coulda knew that little n*gga was gon’ rat,” Benny The Butcher said. “He’s a rat. He don’t deserve to be out. He don’t deserve nothin’. He’s a rat. I was just talkin’ ’bout my n*ggas, the numbers that they got and nobody told nothing…He’s a f*ckin’ rat. He’s a disgrace.”
“He told and give information on people that he was around who, they thought of each other as friends,” the rapper added. Vlad spoke about other cases and then asked Benny if he thinks 6ix9ine will make a huge comeback. “To be honest with you man, I don’t even care to talk about that rat ass n*gga. Imma be honest with you, man… He gon’ get enough publicity… Of course people gon’ go stream his music ’cause they don’t live off the same type of morals that we took an oath to. He gon’ do what he do. The world that I live in and the cloth that I’m cut from, he know what he deserve.”
He added that if 6ix9ine called him for anything he’d just throw his phone away. Watch the clip of the interview with Benny The Butcher below.
Benny The Butcher Reflects On Fred The Godson Passing Away From COVID-19
Benny The Butcher spoke about Westside Gunn being ill from COVID-19 and Fred The Godson passing away at 35-years-old.
While there are millions of people who have their conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 pandemic, people who have survived a bout with the virus are here to tell you that it’s the real deal. We previously reported that Griselda emcee Westside Gunn battled coronavirus, and he talked about his experience, saying, “I’m feeling good now, these short breaths, this sh*t was like a tornado through my chest.” His Griselda mate Benny The Butcher recently sat down with VladTV to talk about his friend’s recent struggles, admitting that he didn’t speak with Gunn much while he was sick to give him space to recover.
“I remember speaking to him and he was telling me he was sick and I was thinking, yo, you probably f*cked up,” Benny said. “He had it… That sh*t is nothing to play with. Rest in peace Fred The Godson. I got asthma. I got bad asthma, and me and Fred, we shared that. So, seeing him go, it’s just a f*cked up wake-up call. A wake-up call that I didn’t want and it’s sad that he left us so early from this unexpected virus that just came out of nowhere. A tragedy. Real sh*t.”
Benny went on to sing Fred’s praises as he spoke fondly about the times he worked with the late rapper. “It’s a lot of people in Buffalo[, New York] who died from that sh*t. It’s a lot of people,” he continued. Benny said his girl has her own wig and hair extensions company, and she sold a woman some items one day and not long after, saw on social media that the customer passed away from COVID-19. “People are really here today and gone tomorrow off of that sh*t so, I just want everybody to be careful. And I’m not going anywhere near Buffalo right now.” Watch Benny The Butcher below.
Benny The Butcher Explains Why He Wanted To Go Bar-For-Bar With Drake
Benny The Butcher explains the significance of going bar-for-bar with Drake.
The Griselda crew has had an impeccable come up in the past year. Though TikTok-friendly singles and auto-tuned laden bangers have become the norm in hip-hop, Westside Gunn, Conway, and Benny The Butcher proved that there’s still a place for lyricism and bars to co-exist with everything else going on in music these days.
The rise of Griselda has aligned them with both Eminem and Jay-Z simultaneously while people like Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, and more have shared praise for the Upstate NY crew. Over the months, there’s been a snippet of a forthcoming Drake single along with Benny The Butcher floating around on the Internet. No, it wasn’t one of the songs previewed during Drake’s Instagram Live sessions, though fans are hoping it arrives on Benny’s next project.
In a recent interview with Cigar Talk, Benny explained the significance of linking up with Drake for a song. Even though Drake’s music teeters closer to the pop side of things, he’s carried his weight lyrically along with giants in the game. Now, Benny wants to prove that he can going bar-for-bar with Drake.
“I’m going for bars Drake. That’s what I went for,” he explained. “People kill me when they act like that n***a pen game ain’t stupid, you know what I’m sayin’? That n***a pen game is stupid and as a fan, that’s what I wanted to hear… I wanted to like, be on a song with one of the most successful dopest n***as in the game, just rapping. I want to trade bars with n***as like that.”
Benny The Butcher Reveals What He’s Been Listening To
Benny The Butcher’s quarantine playlist features some voices from the new generation and the OGs alike.
It’s already May, and the Griselda trifecta has wasted little time in establishing their presence in 2020. In March, Conway The Machine delivered his Lulu EP, produced entirely by The Alchemist. A little later, Westside Gunn dropped off his absolutely stacked album Pray For Paris. Now, Benny The Butcher is getting ready to drop off some new music of his own, confirming to Complex that he’s got a project with Hit-Boy and another with Harry Fraud on the horizon — though neither are given a date, he affirms that the year will be his before long.

As for his listening habits, Benny reveals that his playlist has been consisting of music from Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Jay Electronica‘s A Written Testimony, and a re-listen of Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt. As for his watching habits, The Butcher admits to watch ESPN reruns, putting forth an interesting theory. “Men, we addicted to sports,” he laughs. “They still showing games from 96, 88. I’m still watching those. My daughter watching All-American so I might come in the room and watch it a bit. I might stay for an episode or two.”
The Butcher also issues a challenge to any PS4 gamers who think they stand a chance against him. “Anybody out there who think they can get with The Butcher,” he boasts. “I’m playing UFC 3, I’m playing Madden 20, I’m playing 2K20. If you think you can get with the Butcher, my tag line is Tana_Talk_4.”
Be sure to keep an eye out for another big year from The Butcher, and should you feel up to the challenge, load up the PlayStation and see how it plays out. Keep your heady up, Benny — the quarantine won’t last forever.
Conway & Benny The Butcher Talk Getting Props From Raekwon & Nas
Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher appreciate the fan love, but there’s nothing like that respect from the OGs.
Today, T.I. shared the latest episode of his ExpediTiously podcast, which features a conversation with two of the game’s best lyricists — Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine. While much ground is covered, an interesting moment arises early on when the pair discuss receiving flowers from their peers and predecessors, namely Raekwon and Nas.
“[Raekwon’s] like a Jordan poster n***a for me,” admits Conway. “Any of the Clan. Any of the OGs who laid the cement down. That’s the shit that mean the most to me, I appreciate the support from the fans and the people but I’m really trying to impress the n***as I grew up inspired by. I want n***as like that saying you killed that shit — I can really believe it cause I know this is a master craftsman himself telling me that, so I know it ain’t no cap. It mean a lot when a n***a like Raekwon throw his arm around the homies and hold us down. That’s next level to me.”

Tip inquires about Nas, and Benny proceeds to break down their introduction. “It’s crazy, I just met that n***a the other day,” reveals The Butcher. “Kicked it with him. I was kicking it with Swizz and was like ‘introduce me to Esco.’ He talked about how he fucked with the music. He came and did a show and shouted us out on stage. He fuck with [Green Lantern] and Green like our DJ too, we got a mutual relationship with him…[Nas] was just telling us he aware, he fuck with what we do, it’s a breath of fresh air, he’d love to work. I just let him know how he inspired me. It’s crazy to meet that n***a.”
Benny echoes Conway’s sentiment about being recognized by the genre’s greats, maintaining that receiving such co-signs are the reason he does what he does. And rest assured, they have done exactly that — at this point, it’s easier to count the hip-hop lyricists that haven’t recognized the Griselda movement than the ones who have. Benny The Butcher Links With Harry Fraud For "Plugs I Met Vol. 2"
Benny The Butcher & Harry Fraud have been putting in work on "Plugs I Met Vol. 2," a sequel to Benny's 2019 release "Plugs I Met."
They've reunited and it's expected to sound so good. Benny The Butcher has been a busy bee lately. The Griselda rapper has been dishing out new hits consistently over the past year along with other members of his camp. He made yet another set of impressive appearances on Westside Gunn's newly released (today) project Pray for Paris and has been continuing to hype his mysterious collaboration with Drake since February.
When it comes to Griselda, there's always more heat in the chamber, and according to a tweet, Benny The Butcher is preparing to unleash some tunes with Harry Fraud. "Damn son @HarryFraud really cooked up 'Plugs I Met' Vol 2 with @BennyBsf," the Twitter user wrote. Benny replied, "Yes he did," without further explanation. Fans went wild in the comments saying that it's about time.
In June 2019, Benny released Plugs I Met, a heavy-hitting record that featured appearances by Black Thought, Jadakiss, Conway, Pusha T, India, RJ Payne, and 38 Spesh. We'll have to wait and see what he and Harry Fraud have in store for Plus I Met Vol. 2, but we're expecting nothing but the best from New York's finest. Let us know if you're looking forward to Plugs I Met Vol. 2 from Benny and Harry Fraud.
Benny The Butcher Teases Drake Collab Once More
Following news that Griselda and OVO were linking up, Benny The Butcher reminds the masses a Drake collab is on the way.
Though the widespread nature of Drake‘s fanbase occasionally sends the rapper down more a more mainstream-friendly road, the Toronto rapper has proven time and time again that he can bar out at a high level. Yet as nice as Drizzy’s pen game can be, it’s a different beast altogether when hopping on a Griselda track.

In February, we got confirmation that Drake and Benny were linking up for a collaboration, with Drake teasing that he was in the process of writing his verse. Though days went by without receiving an update on the track’s status, Benny recently hit Instagram to stoke the flames of hype once more (perhaps inadvertently), posting a picture of Drizzy donning some Butcher attire alongside a self-promotional caption: “Shout out to all the Plugs I met … more colors on the way.”
On the surface, a clever reminder to go check out Benny’s store for some fly merch. And while it’s not exactly a concrete indication that the wheels are in motion, modern social media marketing has become a study in reading between the lines. Benny is well aware of what he’s doing, knowing full-on that the masses have been anticipating the Griselda-OVO crossover episode for a minute now. Given that both himself and Drake are primed to drop off new albums by years end, what better way to spark a rollout than what’s sure to be a duet for the ages?
Check out the picture for yourself, and sound off – do you think this is a sign that Drizzy and Benny’s collaboration is on the way? And if so, would you like to see Conway and Westside Gunn slide through to round it out? And — last question — does the 6ix God have a chance at holding his own alongside the Griselda boys?
Conway Says Shady Records Solo Project Will Be "Pinnacle Of The Rap Game In 2020"
Conway discussed his forthcoming solo project with Shady Records, saying that it encompasses the “pain” and “raw emotion” of his life.
After Conway The Machine drops his next three albums, the New York rapper is stepping away from the mic. He made the announcement last week with a brief statement on Twitter. “After FKTG, GDMM and EIF4, Conway out,” he wrote. Just weeks ago, we received Conway and The Alchemist‘s LULU EP, a seven-track offering that hip hop heads can’t stop streaming. Up next, Conway told Instagram Live viewers that he has some new music coming with Hit-Boy, albeit he didn’t share when we can expect that to reach our ears.
On Monday (April 13), Conway and The Alchemist sat down with Genius for a social distancing interview. The pair of artists discussed their collaborative record and what it was like working with one another. Conway recently teased that he was releasing a solo album on Shady Records, and he was asked what fans could expect from the project.
“That sh*t gon’ be probably the pinnacle of the motherf*ckin’ rap game in 2020,” he said. “That’s gon’ top off everything off nicely. It’s gon’ shake the pavement. I got probably 10 or 12 joints on that. I have zero features on there right now. I mean, I got [Westside Gunn] and [Benny The Butcher] on there, but outside of that, I have zero features.” He later added that Rapsody is “on the joint, too.”
“It’s that pain, it’s that raw emotion, my story, my life,” Conway said. He also shared that we should expect another project to drop later on this month. Check out Conway The Machine and The Alchemist chatting with For The Record below.
Griselda Links With Kanye West And Jay-Z On Same Weekend
Worlds collide as Westside Gunn, Conway, Benny The Butcher and Kanye West connect at Sunday Service.
Though the acts cannot be more stylistically separated, Westside Gunn, Conway, and Benny The Butcher of Griselda recently found common ground with the legendary Kanye West. With one practicing unapologetic gangsta rap and the other practicing heavily gospel-inspired religious music, it’s hard to imagine that a collaboration could come about organically these days. Yet the moment remains an impactful one for all parties, and further validation that Griselda is by far the most well-connected crew in the game.
Westside took to Instagram to share a picture of the link-up, captioning it with the simple yet effective “GRISELDA X YE on MACHINE GUN BLACK birthday!!!!!” Curiously, the trio’s stop at Sunday Service came only days removed from a backstage meeting with Jay-Z, which found Hov and Conway engaging in a heart-to-heart conversation. The Machine detailed his experience chopping it up with a legend, an encounter that transpired directly following an emotional performance of “The Cow.”
“By the time I got to my last few bars I broke down in tears (which is nothin new to me lol) and when I got myself together and left stage HOV 1 of the first people to greet and hug me,” writes Conway. “As I was standing there wit tears in my eyes, I apologized for crying and shit and not staying poised, and he was like “nah n*** that was amazing! Don’t hold that in let it out, I felt that!!” Then we had a VERY interesting conversation, that I muted because I’m keeping that between me and the BIG homie.”
All things considered, those Griselda boys had a very Watch The Throne heavy weekend. In all seriousness, are they the most connected crew in the game?
