Burger King is taking one of the concerning side effects of the coronavirus pandemic into its own hands, by offering free kids meals to children who will not be able to receive their school-provided lunches anymore after the spread of COVID-19 forced many school districts to close down. As coronavirus continues to spread worldwide, it's important to avoid large crowds and practice social distancing. Many institutions including schools have closed in order to contain the virus and prevent further infection, and while that may be a crucial health and safety measure, it poses a problem for tons of families who depend on schools to provide lunches for their children. Plenty of celebrities like Steph and Ayesha Curry as well as Ciara and Russell Wilson have donated to local food banks and other organizations to help prevent kids from going hungry, and now, Burger King is doing their part, too. Starting next week for as long as supplies last, the fast food chain will be offering two free kids meals with every adult meal purchase made through online orders.

“There’s a tremendous impact on children, as a result of all the school closures,” Jose Cil, CEO of Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons parent company Restaurant Brands International, told Business Insider. “It’s one of the hardest-hit groups of Americans, because they rely so significantly on school, for lunch...Monday through Friday, for the better part of the year.” Now that the fast food chain is heavily encouraging "minimum contact methods like drive-thrus, pick-up or delivery," the online factor of the offer makes perfect sense.
“We have the ability to help feed America,” Cil said. “The challenge here is that when you’re dealing with a circumstance like this, if we don’t utilize businesses like Burger King, Tim’s and Popeyes … It’s really difficult for Americans to be fed, because it’s going to be difficult for them to get all their other food and necessities from the supermarket.”
Burger King’s New "Moldy Whopper" Ad Is Both Educational & Disgusting
Showing what a 34-day-old Whopper should look like, Burger King got gross and did the most for their latest food ad campaign.
Burger King stays doing the most when it comes to their advertisement schemes, from offering love scorned customers free Whoppers on Valentine's Day in exchange for pictures of their exes to actually giving out free burgers UberEats to carnivores in The Bronx who were annoyed by the "Joker stairs" epidemic. In their latest marketing ploy, the iconic fast food franchise decided to show us what a 34-day-old Whopper should look like in an effort to push towards eliminating artificial preservatives in food. The results, well, weren't so appetizing.
As you can see from the official ad seen above, "The Moldy Burger" is enough to make you almost want to become a vegan. Speaking on why this campaign even exists in the first place, the burger joint's North America President Christopher Finazzo said, "The Burger King brand is currently rolling out the Whopper® sandwich with no preservatives, colors, or flavors from artificial sources in the U.S." The preservative-free patty is already available in over 400 Burger King restaurants throughout the U.S. and will be in every location by the end of 2020, according to Finazzo.
Of course, this sent many on social media into a viral frenzy. Take a look below at some of our favorite reactions to Burger King's new The Moldy Burger ad campaign:
Burger King Offers Free Whoppers For Pictures Of Your Ex This Valentine’s Day
Let your exes know their worth this Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day is truly a strange holiday where people who are in relationships are forced to celebrate it while others enjoying the single life wonder what it would be like if Instagram’s “relationship goals” became attainable in their real-lives (or they order a pizza and call it a night). However, for anyone still bitter about their previous relationship, Burger King is offering their own way of closure — or at least letting your exes know their worth.
This Valentine’s Day, you can get a free Whopper in exchange for pictures of your ex. Burger King will be setting up “break up boxes” in locations across New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston. Additionally, Burger King will accept other types of memorabilia such as letters, stuffed animals, or items of clothing, given it’s related to your ex. For the record, I personally feel terrible for anyone working that day because Lord knows someone will be trying to finesse their dirty laundry for a free Whopper.
The promotion is not only for Valentine’s Day but also in the promotion of Birds Of Prey which essentially deals with Harley Quinn post-Joker break up.
“This Valentine’s Day, who needs The Joker when you can have the King?” Burger King explained in a press release. “In a new partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures and their new film ‘Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn),’ Burger King restaurants are celebrating Anti-Valentine’s Day in true Harley Quinn fashion. On the heels of the February 7 ‘Birds of Prey’ movie release, in which everyone’s favorite anti-heroine Harley embarks on her post-breakup emancipation from The Joker, Burger King is turning ex-flames into flame-grilled Whopper sandwiches.”
Burger King Employee Pulls Gun On Customer Who Complained About Order
Wild behaviour.
It seems as though some of the wildest most unheard of behaviour can go down in fast food establishments. From our most recent update on how a woman shot up a KFC for not receiving a fork to a new story on a woman who pulled out a gun on a customer at Burger King who complained about a complication with their order – seriously.

According to WREG, a Memphis woman named Oderrial Moore-Williams (who works at BK) was upset when a customer claimed she was charged too much for her order. The incident went down at a drive thru window and when the customer pulled over, four employees reportedly charged her car. When customer went to reach for something was when Oderrial pulled her gun out and pointed it at the disgruntled customer.
Oderrial was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. “There’s a ways to handle things and I think that management or somebody above management need to go, just sort of screen their workers to make sure that they know how to handle things,” a customer on the scene told the publication, while another added: “If you come with problems, problems gonna follow you. That’s what you gonna get.”
Burger King Offers The Bronx Free Whoppers For Tolerating "Joker Stairs" Tourists
A little burger for their troubles.
If you've seen Todd Phillips' Joker, then you're familiar with the scene when Arthur Fleck (played by Joaquin Phoenix) completes his transformation into his villainy alter-ego and gallivants to the stairs near his apartment to let loose. Even if you haven't seen Todd Phillips' Joker, you're likely familiar with the scene because it was abundantly shared online and became of the most iconic movie moments of 2019. You can find several Twitter accounts dedicated to dubbing different songs over the clip of The Joker dancing down a set of stairs that is actually located in The Bronx.
When Joker fanatics and people in search of a solid social media post discovered that they could visit these 132 steps for free on West 167th Street, they flocked there. As you can imagine, this influx of tourists irritated many people living near these stairs. Out of sympathy for those affected, Burger King is offering residents of The Bronx free whoppers through Uber Eats when they use the code "KINGSTAIRS". Ordering fast food on Uber Eats is usually attended by a feeling of deep remorse, but it's easier to justify when you only have to pay the delivery fee. In a rather counter-intuitive move, Burger King brought a crew to the "Joker Stairs" to shoot an ad for this free whopper campaign. You could see THE Burger King dancing down the steps below.
In other Joker news, Todd Phillips claimed he is open to directing a sequel.
