As new reports are surfacing in regards to Carl Crawford and his recent arrest for alleged domestic violence, his ex-fiancée Evelyn Lozada has decided to come forward. Last week, the 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO was taken into custody after his ex-girlfriend reportedly told police that when she tried to break up with him, he pulled out a firearm and repeatedly bashed her head against a wall while questioning her over an alleged affair with another man.

According to reports, Carl Crawford is facing 10 years in prison for the alleged assault, and because she shares a child with the former Los Angeles Dodgers star, Evelyn Lozada felt the need to speak up. She has openly spoken up about her domestic violence incident with Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, and since Crawford's arrest, Evelyn says that people have been trying to change her narrative.
Evelyn stated emphatically that Crawford never put his hands on her, never intimidated her, and never called her out of her name. However, she also stated that she can't speak on what anyone else has experienced with him. "I will always be empathetic to ANYONE who has experienced any form of domestic violence and in NO WAY would I ever undermine anyone else’s alleged experience. That is their story to tell," the reality star penned in a caption to her video. "However, after numerous calls, tweets, DM’s and bloggers claiming that I’ve said that my ex-fiancé, Carl Crawford, intimidated or physically hurt me, I felt I had to speak regarding my relationship with Carl."
"The Carl I’m hearing about lately is not the Carl I personally know. During our 4 Year engagement & while co-parenting our son, Carl has never been violent or threatening. We have a positive relationship," Evelyn Lozada continued. "Again, I take the time to speak on this for my son, who I never want to grow up and feel as if his father hurt his mother in any way. I also do this because I won’t allow bloggers looking for clicks to manipulate MY story and take away from those women who need their true stories heard. There is NO story here and I have no additional comments." Watch her video below.
Carl Crawford’s Facing 10 Years For Felony Assault Charge: Report
Carl Crawford’s legal situation keep mounting up.
Carl Crawford has been at the center of a few legal matters this year but his recent felony charge for assault is by far the most serious. Crawford is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and was recently arrested and charged with felony assault. Per Bossip, he has since been released on $10K bail but he’s facing a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and/or $10K fine.
Under the terms of his bail conditions, he won’t be allowed to go near the alleged victim, must stay in the Houston, Texas area, and stay completely sober, specifically from alcohol.
The police report filed against him alleged that the victim tried to break things off from her relationship with him and went to his place on May 8th to talk. After arriving, she alleged that Carl Crawford pulled a semi-automatic handgun from his pocket and “unloaded the clip and ejected a round of the pistol and began walking towards her holding the firearm.” That wasn’t all. He allegedly bashed her head against a wall on several occasions over speculation that she was with another man. He had repeatedly asked her “how long had she been having sex with the male” as he it her head into the wall.

Carl Crawford the CEO of 1501 Entertainment which represents artists like Megan Thee Stallion.
Since retiring from Major League Baseball, Carl Crawford has turned himself into a music label CEO and he is currently the head of Houston-based 1501 Entertainment which boasts the likes of Megan Thee Stallion. According to TMZ, it was reported today that Crawford was arrested in Texas for Domestic Violence, specifically, “assault fam/house mem impede breath/circulate” which is code for choking.
As for the details surrounding his arrest, a woman alleges she had recently broken up with Crawford and that on May 8th, they met up with each other to talk things out. That’s when Crawford allegedly got violent and pulled out a gun. The former MLB star allegedly eventually unloaded the gun and grabbed her by the neck. The woman claims Crawford was interrogating her about a man she had recently been seeing and that he even threatened to hurt the man. From there, Crawford allegedly continued to send her upsetting text messages.

Last month, Crawford experienced a tragedy at his home when a woman and a small child drowned in his pool. Following that tragic event, Crawford had issued a statement saying: “My Hearts Heavy. The tragic events that occurred at my home will be with me forever. I’m at a loss for words I’ve struggled all week to manage my emotions and I keep thinking of the families of those who’ve passed and their grief, I know they have it the hardest. Megan Thee Stallion’s Label Celebrates Her #1 Despite Legal Drama
Carl Crawford, the CEO of the label that signed Megan Thee Stallion, celebrated her hit “Savage” going No. 1 despite their legal battle over her contract.
Megan Thee Stallion earned her first No. 1 hit this week with “Savage,” and her label surprisingly couldn’t be happier. On Tuesday (May 26th), Billboard reported that Megan and Beyoncé’s remix of “Savage” had risen to the top of the Hot 100 chart, marking the former’s first ever No. 1 of her career. Megan was thrilled, of course, and Bey even sent her a bouquet of flowers to congratulate her on her incredible feat.

Someone we may not have expected to join in on the celebratory festivities was Carl Crawford, the CEO of 1501 Certified Entertainment to which Megan is signed. However, on Tuesday, Carl took to the official 1501 Instagram page to relish in the joy of “Savage” going No. 1.
“#1! We did it for our city!” Carl wrote on a clip of one of Beyoncé’s verses on the remix. “Waking up to good news is a blessing man, and coming together for this collaboration was a no brainer. I’m so proud of everyone involved in making this project happen and the help that has been given to Bread of Life, Houston through its success. We’ve gotten to feed so many people in need because the fans showed up n showed out and streamed! We did this together! I’m just grateful.”

Although the song was released 1501 on Megan’s EP Suga back in March, Carl fails to mention her at all in the post. If you recall, the two of them were embroiled in some legal drama prior to the release of Suga, after Megan exposed the label for preventing her from releasing new music due to the conditions of her contract. She was granted permission by the court to release the project against the label’s wishes after she sued them, so it’s interesting that Carl is celebrating the exciting feat at all.
Carl Crawford Releases Heartfelt Statement On Tragedy At His Home
Carl Crawford’s home was the scene of an accidental double drowning last week.
Carl Crawford experienced a very traumatic tragedy at his home in Houston last week as it was reported that a young child and a 25-year-old woman passed away after drowning in his pool. As the story goes, a child wandered off into the poolside area and eventually fell in. The young woman noticed this and went after him to save him but neither were able to get out of the pool. When paramedics showed up, neither individual could be revived.
Recently, Crawford took to the 1501 Entertainment Instagram account where he expressed his sadness over the tragedy. As he noted, he still thinks about the individuals that were lost and he continues to pray for the families.
Per Crawford:
“My Hearts Heavy. The tragic events that occurred at my home will be with me forever. I’m at a loss for words I’ve struggled all week to manage my emotions and I keep thinking of the families of those who’ve passed and their grief, I know they have it the hardest. They are the first and last thing I think of these days. Please keep them in your prayers, I know they will always be in mine.”
This is a very difficult time for everyone and involved and our hearts are with those who were affected.
A Woman & Young Boy Drowned At 1501 Ent. CEO Carl Crawford’s Home
Carl Crawford’s home was the scene of an accidental drowning over the weekend, resulting in two deaths.
While Texas is one of the few states that has relaxed some of their social distancing guidelines recently, it appears that some locals have relaxed social distancing in their personal lives as well. As per Texas guidelines, it is allowed to gather in groups of 10 people or less.
Carl Crawford has been in the news when it comes to his label, 1501 Entertainment, and his deal gone sour with Megan Thee Stallion. Today, however, he’s returned to the news for another reason entirely, and it’s heartbreaking.
The former MLB player reportedly had a small group of people– reportedly 6 people total– over on the weekend, including a woman and a small boy. KHOU 11 has uncovered that the woman in question was 25-year old Bethany Lartigue, the girlfriend of a recent signee to Carl’s music label. She was reportedly staying at Carl’s home and shooting music videos when this incident happened.
While Carl was inside, a small boy apparently wandered away from the group and fell into Carl’s pool in the backyard. The boy was not related to Lartigue, but was the son of someone else who was on set for the music video, reports state. According to witnesses, Lartigue went in after the child in order to save him, but wasn’t able to get out of the pool, resulting in the death of both the woman and the child. Carl reportedly attempted to save them, as did paramedics when they arrived on the scene, to no avail.
Carl Crawford shared a statement on what happened over the weekend, which reads:
“This weekend, a terrible accident occurred at my residence resulting in the tragic loss of two precious lives. It’s devastating, I’m in complete shock and don’t really know how to move forward in this moment because my heart aches so deeply for the families.
After I reached out directly to the families to express my condolences and willingness to stand side by side with them as they grieve through this difficult process, I agreed to share this joint statement on their behalf:
We are heartbroken and deeply saddened by our loss. We ask for your continued thoughts and prayers for all those involved, as we begin the difficult grieving process ahead. Out of respect for the lives that have been lost, we ask that you provide us the necessary privacy required to grieve and properly mourn the loss of our loved ones. Please keep the families in your prayers.”
Megan Thee Stallion Might Face Roadblock In Lawsuit Against Label
A lawyer for Carl Crawford and 1501 Ent. has made a strong case opposing Megan Thee Stallion’s lawsuit against the company.
Megan Thee Stallion is in the midst of a legal battle with her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment but she still managed to release her new project, SUGA last week, thanks to the judge who granted her a temporary restraining order against the label. Even though the project managed to find its way onto streaming services, Meg’s battle against 1501 Entertainment is far from over.
Tommaso Boddi/Getty ImagesIn new documents obtained by Bossip, a lawyer for the label has filed a motion arguing that Megan Thee Stallion has no right to take them to court. Although details of Megan having to go through arbitration with the label were previously revealed, a lawyer for 1501 has asked to have this case dealt with privately. Ultimately, this would mean that the results of the case would not be available to the public.
The agreement is apparently in the very contract that Megan Thee Stallion signed two years ago. The contract states that any disputes between them would be settled in a private matter. If Megan’s case proceeds as she plans, then she’d allegedly be violating their legal agreement. They’re not necessarily arguing aspects of this case but would rather have it dealt with behind closed doors.
A judge has yet to file a ruling on the motion. We’ll keep you posted on any more updates. Read our review of SUGA here.
Megan Thee Stallion Explodes: "I Am No One’s Property"
Megan Thee Stallion is fighting back against her record label, claiming that they are trying to stop her from retaining her rights.
When the clock strikes midnight, Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion will be adding a new piece to her discography, releasing her long-awaited debut studio album SUGA, but the project is wrapped in controversy. For the last week, the 25-year-old Texan has been fighting against her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment and Carl Crawford, after they reportedly attempted to block her from releasing any new music. The court has denied Crawford’s go at halting the album drop, leaving Megan in the clear to bless her fans. Addressing the drama, she took to Instagram today to air out the label and what they’re doing to her.
“FACTS ARE FACTS AND THE FACTS ARE PUBLIC,” wrote Megan Thee Stallion in relation to the dispute she is currently having with her label. “I’m extremely pleased that 1501 and Carl Crawford were denied the request to dissolve the Court order and try to stop my music from being released. I will proceed with the release of ‘SUGA.'”
Erik Voake/Getty ImagesStalli went on to explain that she will keep standing up for herself, also planning on defending the name of Jay-Z and anybody else that was unfairly mentioned in the legal process.
“I will stand up for myself and won’t allow two men to bully me, I am NO ONES PROPERTY,” she added. “Y’all are choosing to highlight the issue of music splits…talk about everything else. This has nothing to do with anyone else including JAY-Z, stop deflecting and trying to make this a publicity stunt, I want my rights.”
Earlier on Thursday (March 5), J. Prince responded to the court case by criticizing Megan Thee Stallion, telling her that her deal was fair and that he will be siding with 1501 Certified Entertainment.

Carl Crawford’s Motion To Stop Megan Thee Stallion’s Album Release Denied
Carl Crawford and 1501 Certified Entertainment’s motion to prevent Megan Thee Stallion from releasing her debut album this Friday has been denied.
A judge has officially denied the emergency motion filed by 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO Carl Crawford to dissolve Megan Thee Stallion‘s temporary restraining order against the label, which allowed her to release her debut album, SUGA, without his permission. Megan made her conflict with the label and Carl public this weekend by going on Instagram live to reveal that 1501 has been preventing her from releasing new music ever since she requested a renegotiation of her contract. She went on to file a lawsuit against 1501 and Carl, and was granted a temporary restraining order that allowed her to put out new music at her leisure. She immediately took advantage of the opportunity by announcing the upcoming release of her debut album, SUGA, this Friday, Match 6th. Carl took action by filing an emergency motion to have Megan’s restraining order tossed out, thus preventing her from releasing new music, but the judge denied his request on Wednesday night.

District Court Judge Beau A. Miller stated that “the album at issue may be dropped for distribution beginning March 6, 2020.” Miller also ordered that Rap-A-Lot Records head J. Prince, whom Megan’s team has accused of making threatening social media posts toward her after he publicly expressed his support of Carl in the whole debacle, to “refrain from threatening or posting threatening or retaliatory social media posts or threats against [Megan], her agents, or her representatives.” Miller also established some rules for both Megan and Carl, who, in the wake of Megan’s claims, spoke to the press to publicly denounce most of her story. Miller has thus prohibited both parties “from communicating with the media concerning the underlying issues in this case without court approval.” It looks like SUGA will most definitely be dropping tomorrow.
J. Prince Responds To Megan Thee Stallion Label Drama
J. Prince sets the record straight after Megan Thee Stallion allegedly included him in a lawsuit “wrapped around lies and stupidity.”
It has been a long and winding road during the lead-up to Megan Thee Stallion‘s debut studio album. Last year, the Houston stand-out released her highly-successful commercial mixtape Fever, before announcing that she would be spending time on the creation of her official debut, SUGA. We will get a chance to hear the self-professed Hot Girl’s new project tonight but that was nearly not the case. Her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment and Carl Crawford, have been actively attempting to halt her musical releases but, after a fight in court, Megan reportedly walked away the victor. She is currently involved in a lawsuit with Crawford and 1501 Certified Entertainment, also naming J. Prince from Rap-a-Lot Records in the suit. The respected industry executive has since responded to the case.
“Megan [Thee Stallion], along with Roc Nation Employee Geetanjali Grace Lyer decided to include my name in a lawsuit wrapped around lies and stupidity. We gone get this shit straight,” wrote J. Prince on Instagram, explaining his side of the story in length.
Ray Tamarra/Getty ImagesPrince detailed what he refers to as a common practice in the music industry: the poaching of artists from major labels. “This is the same technique of the culture vultures. I didn’t allow this to happen to me when New York and LA record labels attempted to take my artists- so they labeled me as malicious for fighting back,” wrote Prince. “I didn’t allow it then so I damn sure ain’t gonna allow it to happen to 1501 Records or any of the other independent record labels that I’m associated with.”
J. Prince goes on to inspect the specifics of Megan Thee Stallion’s deal, which he says is actually a good one. However, he critiques Meg for allegedly turning on Carl Crawford, initially viewing him as an angel before now seeing him as the devil.
