Fruit Loops revealed a new design for their signature character Toucan Sam in an advertisement on May 5th and, in true Twitter/IG fashion, fans of the cereal did not hesitate from sharing their harsh opinions on the new mascot.
The cereal company uploaded the ad to Youtube with the caption, "Toucan Sam is here with new adventures and a brand new look." Fruit Loops also shared the redesign for the beloved cereal’s mascot to their Instagram page on May 8th. See below for the newly imagined Toucan Sam.
The original Toucan Sam became the official mascot for the cereal back in 1963 and that nostalgic history with the character is likely the driving force behind why the internet was not having it.
The post has now amassed over 4,000 comments from fans going in on 2020 Sam. Among the comments:
“That’s not Sam. Maybe that’s sams half brother twice removed”
“I never want someone to lose their job... but your company needs a new marketing team”
“Wtf is this. Looks like a bad acid trip here”
Twitter also didn’t hold back from tearing Sam up, using the hashtag #NotMyToucanSam to share their brutal criticisms, with some users even offering their own iterations.
Texas Woman Receives Life In Prison For Beheading Daughter
A woman received a life sentence for stabbing and beheading her five-year-old daughter.
A woman in Texas was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison after being accused of stabbing and beheading her five-year-old daughter, back in 2017. 27-year-old, Krystle Villanueva, was officially sentenced by a Hays County judge and jury this past Thursday (March 5) in connection to the death of her daughter, Giovanna Hernandez. The adolescent girl was reportedly murdered by her mother at their home in Kyle, located approximately 20 miles southwest of Austin.

In 2017, Villanueva was arrested after police were called to the home she shared with her daughter Giovanna, Giovanna’s father, and his parents. The prosecutors claim that the young mother told 911 operators that she killed and mutilated her daughter’s body after she “asked for cereal.” According to AP News, Villanueva was also found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the stabbing of the five-year-old’s grandfather.
Krystle Villanueva’s defense attorney attempted to claim that she was clinically insane which should have garnered her a not guilty verdict. Her lawyer, Carlos Garcia, released a statement to The Associated Press on Friday (March 6) declaring his client suffered from psychosis for a multitude of years. In court, Garcia stated that on the day of the attack and beheading, Villanueva believed that her family had been taken over by clones.
Prior to Villanueva’s official verdict, the Austin American-Statesmen revealed that the authorities had previously only told the media and general public that the child’s body had been ‘mutilated.’ But now, with Villanueva officially locked up behind bars for life without parole, they revealed her horrendous crime to the masses as one of the most brutal and unnecessary murders of this current generation.

Gene Simmons Puts Ice Cubes In His Cereal & Twitter Is Horrified
Not to be dramatic, but he should be put in jail for this.
As if Gene Simmons couldn't get anymore shocking, the rock legend revealed something very odd about himself to Twitter on Wednesday, and people were floored. Deciding to start the new year off on an especially weird note, Gene posted some photos on his Twitter account, with a very important question that nobody ever thought they'd be asked. In the photos, a robed Gene stands at the kitchen counter, spoon in hand, as he mixes his Oreo O's and Mini Wheats cereals around in a bowl of milk and, that's right, ice cubes.
"Anyone else put ice cubes in their cereal?" Gene asks in the caption, as if this is a totally sane and innocent question and not a crime against humanity. The replies to the tweet are priceless, as unknowing users happen upon the post and express their horror and disbelief at what they've witnessed.
One user posted a meme in response, which appears to be a blurry, black-and-white screencap of some creature accompanied by the words, "Every day. We stray further from god." Another wrote, "I thought the Satanic thing was just an act, until now," referring to Gene's band, Kiss, and their controversial history.
Actor and comedian Diedrich Bader responded with a GIF of his character, Lawrence, from the 1999 film, Office Space, saying, "No. No man. Sh*t no man." While Diedrich's use of himself in GIF form as a reaction was met with widespread approval, Gene was still decidedly in trouble with the Internet. The most hilarious response came from from the person who was likely the most scarred by the post: Gene's son, Nick Simmons. Nick replied to his dad's abomination by saying, "30 years. 30 years watching him do this. This is my life," indicating that this strange practice is nothing new for Gene, which makes the whole thing a thousand times worse.
