Finally, Kodak Black receives some good news as it is being reported that multiple weapons charges against him have been dismissed in Florida.

The rapper’s lawyer Bradford Cohen stated that he had sat down with Miami-Date State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle for a discussion about his client and, apparently, he left a good enough impression of Kodak that several of his weapons charges have been dismissed.

According to The Blast, two charges of “possession of a firearm by a prohibited person” have been dropped. Together, they carry a maximum sentence of fifteen years in prison.

“At the end of the conversation [with the State Attorney], they were concerned that he couldn’t get into the court-ordered drug treatment with an open case and a max security prison,” said Cohen. “They agreed that the fair thing to do was to dismiss the case, so he can attend drug treatment and a lower security prison.”

This is amazing news for fans of Kodak Black. The rapper is currently serving a near-four-year sentence for falsifying information on an application to purchase firearms. He is locked up in one of the most infamous maximum-security prisons in the country, Big Sandy in Kentucky.

Hopefully, this is a start on his road to freedom.

It has been one month since Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke, born Bashar Jackson, was tragically murdered in Los Angeles in what has been described as a targeted hit. The details surrounding his death remain unclear, but federal officials continue to unpack the case day-by-day. In the weeks leading to his fatal shooting, Pop Smoke was arrested for allegedly transporting a stolen vehicle across state lines, refusing to give back a borrowed Rolls-Royce Wraith. The rising star was taken down in January upon his return from Paris Fashion Week, but it would appear as though the charges against him will soon be dropped.

In an unconfirmed exclusive report by Bossip, it has been revealed that the feds plan on scrubbing Pop Smoke’s file of the car theft charges after his death. Although the case is not yet resolved, the judge ordered a status update this week, specifying that a motion for “nolle prosequi” could be on the way. “Nolle prosequi” would mean that the prosecutor has decided not to move forward with the charges.

The alleged stolen vehicle was reportedly found outside of Pop’s parents’ home with tinted windows and a new license plate. Text messages were also recovered that point to the artist’s involvement in organizing the transport of the vehicle.
