Many throughout the United States are outraged right now due to the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd. Arbery was gunned down by two vigilantes while he was out for a jog while Floyd was killed by a police officer. Both of these killings were filmed and posted to social media where they eventually went viral and led to widespread outrage and protest.
Today, NBA legend Charles Barkley spoke out about these senseless killings and expressed deep sadness for what is going.
“I always feel uncomfortable talking about race because I think very few people have what I call a pure heart. What I mean by a pure heart I mean you have to go into a conversation I don’t have my mind made up, I just want to be fair and honest,” Barkley said. “I just feel sadness about the situation in Georgia: kid out for a jog, he ends up dying. No one wants to see a kid die. And that should never happen. There’s no excuses, that should never happen.”
Barkley went on to say that Floyd's death is particularly disturbing and that while he doesn't have ill will towards the police, he simply doesn't understand why the cop would do what he did.
“The thing in Minnesota is really distressing,” Barkley said. “Clearly the man is subdued. And like I say, I always try to give the cops the benefit of the doubt because I don’t have the courage to in their shoes. But man, that cannot happen under any circumstances whatsoever.”
Barkley's comments have been echoed by many over the last few days and all we can hope for right now is that real changes are eventually made, and fast.

The matchup pits Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning as a team against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.
After being teased by commentator Charles Barkley, Brady holes-out on the seventh hole Par 5.
“Tiger thinks he has a huge advantage playing there. That’s fine. We’ll take it to him and Peyton, and there will be no excuses," Mickelson said before the match. "Tom and I are going to go down there and put it to them. We’ll make it so that every time Tiger shows up at his home course, he’ll have a bad memory.”
The group has been battling rain throughout the day. Twitter newbie Eli Manning, who's been live-tweeting the event, says the group should play on: "I’d keep playing. I don’t think the heavy stuff’s gonna come down for quite awhile."
13 holes in, Woods and Manning are 2 up over Mickelson and Brady.
The PGA Tour is set to return June 8 with the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.

Charles Barkley Admits To Playing Drunk After Failed Lakers Trade
Charles Barkley almost got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers while he was in Philadelphia.
Charles Barkley is easily one of the most hilarious characters in the history of the NBA. He always has some funny stories to tell and isn’t shy to give his very honest truth about everything that is happening in the league. Barkley is a legend in his own right as he started his career with the Philadelphia 76ers and eventually moved on to the Phoenix Suns.
During his stint with the 76ers, Barkley was looking to be traded and at one point, it seemed likely that he would be joining the Los Angeles Lakers. While appearing on The Lowe podcast, Barkley admitted that his agent told him a deal to L.A. had been finalized, only to fall through later that day. Barkley jumped the gun and started celebrating with some drinks before being told that he had to play with the 76ers that night. Needless to say, he played a game while drunk.

Per Barkley:
“My agent calls me one morning and he says ‘hey, you’re going to get traded to the Lakers today.’ And me and my friends, we go out and celebrate and get drunk around noon…. He calls me later and says ‘hey you’ve been traded to the Lakers, they’re going to finalize the deal and I’ll get back to you.’ I’m on cloud nine, he calls me back three hours later, it’s like 3:30 now, he says ‘the Sixers backed out of the deal.’ And I’m drunk as [bleeped expletive] and we got a game that night, and I’m like ‘what? What are you talking about?’ And he’s like ‘the Sixers were scared to pull the trigger.’ So I’m like ‘you’re kidding me, dude we got a game tonight and I’ve been drinking since noon.’ The one thing that’s funny, I don’t even know how I played that night. I think I might have played so bad because I was so angry the Sixers didn’t pull the trigger, and then it’s just suffering the next two or three years.”
This is easily one of the best stories Barkley has given us over the years and you really have to feel for the guy. Anybody would be celebrating that hard after a trade to the Lakers.

Charles Barkley Has Had Enough Of LeBron James-MJ Comparisons
Charles Barkley gave his take on who LeBron James should be compared to.
Ever since he entered the NBA in 2003, LeBron James has been compared to Michael Jordan. There are many young fans out there who think LeBron is the GOAT while others seem to think that MJ is the undisputed greatest of all time. Thanks to "The Last Dance" documentary, the MJ-LeBron comparisons have ramped up and have become an unhealthy obsession for many people.
In a recent interview, Charles Barkley attempted to shut these comparisons down as he spoke on LeBron and who he should really be likened to. As he explains, Magic Johnson is a better comparison while Kobe Bryant is the man who is closer to MJ.
“In my opinion, Michael the GOAT,” Barkley told "The Lefkoe Show." “And LeBron, to me, I’ve always said he’s closer to Magic Johnson than he is to Michael. I ain’t never gonna say anything bad about LeBron James, but the closest to Michael I’ve ever seen was Kobe. And what I mean by that is a guy who has a singular vision, like, I just want to win. I’m not worried what my teammates think. I’m not worried about what the coach think. I just want to win.”
Barkley's opinion shouldn't come as much of a shock to anyone although if you're a LeBron fan, you might get just a little defensive. Hopefully, we can all get along on this topic someday.
Charles Barkley Divulges On Fallout With Michael Jordan
Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan used to be the best of friends.
Despite being rivals out on the court, Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley used to be quite close to one another. That all changed when Barkley made some comments about MJ’s abilities as a general manager. Jordan ended up getting offended and now, the two don’t talk to each other anymore.
During a recent interview for ESPN Radio, Barkley spoke about his feelings in regards to the fallout and noted that he feels hurt by it all.
“The guy was like a brother to me for, shoot, 20-something years,” Barkley said on Tuesday. “At least 20-something years. And I do, I feel sadness. But to me he’s still the greatest basketball player ever. I wish him nothing but the best. But, there’s nothing I can do about it, brother.”

Barkley also reiterated that he doesn’t think he was too out of line with his comments towards the Chicago bulls legend and that this whole mess could have been avoided.
“The thing that bothered me the most about that whole thing, I don’t think that I said anything that bad,” Barkley told ESPN Radio of the rift. “I’m pretty sure I said, ‘As much as I love Michael, until he stops hiring them kiss-a—es, and his best friends, he’s never going to be successful as a general manager.’ And I remember pretty much verbatim I said that.”
Clearly, Barkley would like to reconcile with the GOAT but knowing MJ, those feelings probably aren’t reciprocal.

Charles Barkley Says LeBron & Kobe Aren’t Top 5 NBA Players Of All-Time
Charles Barkley believes LeBron James and Kobe Bryant aren’t in the top 5 NBA players of all-time.
According to Charles Barkley, both LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are not among the top five NBA players of all-time.

The former NBA all-star explained his position to Kentucky coach John Calipari this week.
“You know, I love LeBron and everything about him but I still think that the way they play the game today he didn’t want any part of those bad boy Pistons,” Barkley said. “Let me tell you something, those guys were out there trying to hurt people. I used to always tell people when you were playing the Pistons you had to call home and tell your family you love them just in case you never saw them again.”
As for who Barkley does feel deserve the top five recognition, Barkley says, “Michael’s one, Oscar Robertson’s two,” Barkley said. “[Bill] Russell, Wilt [Chamberlain] and Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar], no particular order after Michael. Kobe six, LeBron seven, then you’ve got Elgin Baylor, Jerry West.”
James is a three-time NBA champion and had a strong chance to make it four before the coronavirus derailed the 2019-20 NBA season. The Lakers are currently first in the Western Conference with a record of 49-14 while the NBA is in limbo.

Charles Barkley Puts The Bad Boy Pistons On Blast
There is no love lost between Charles Barkley and the infamous Isiah Thomas-led Detroit Pistons.
Thanks to the ESPN docuseries on Michael Jordan called "The Last Dance," the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons are now being brought back into the National sports conversation. At the time, the Pistons were one of the toughest teams in professional sports and were making opponents extremely upset on a nightly basis. While Jordan's struggles with the Pistons are well-documented, Charles Barkley had his fair share of issues with the Pistons, as well.
During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Barkley went off on the Pistons and accused them of not being as tough as they let on. As he explains, there were very few players on the Pistons who actually knew how to fight and that the majority of the team didn't want the smoke with him.
“You know what’s really funny about that Pistons team? Only two guys on that team could fight: Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars,” Barkley said. “Rodman couldn’t fight, (John) Salley couldn’t fight, (Rick) Mahorn couldn’t fight, (Bill) Laimbeer couldn’t fight. I mean, Vinnie Johnson and James Edwards could fight, but the main four guys I just mentioned, none of them could fight a lick.”
These claims are easy to make now although back in the late 80s and early 90s, it's clear that Barkley had a tough time against Isiah Thomas and company. Even 30 years later, these wounds still run deep.
Charles Barkley Explains Michael Jordan’s Beef With Him
Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan used to be good friends but they don’t talk much anymore.
Despite being rivals out on the court, Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan used to be very good friends. The two used to go everywhere together and even shared the screen in “Space Jam.” However, over the past few years, Jordan has gone completely silent on Barkley. Friendships go through ups and downs over the years although when it comes to MJ and Chuck, it looks like things will never be patched up.
While on the “Hoops, Adjacent” podcast, Barkley spoke on his complicated relationship with the NBA legend. As he explains, Jordan didn’t like something he said about his career as a manager and owner. Barkley noted that he was talking more about the people around Jordan. Regardless, MJ took offense to Barkley’s comments and the two have been on rocky terms ever since.

“Don’t you have friends who you’re not sure how they’re gonna react when you’re honest with them,” Barkley said. “Especially somebody on his level. And like I say, hey, I love the dude. He’s the best I’ve ever seen. It’s unfortunate the way things went down. But I’m going to always try to do my job. And actually, my criticism was about the people around him. … I thought the people he hired around him were too many yes men. That was actually my statement, to be honest. I thought the people around him, they wanted the private jet. They wanted the steak dinner. They were always going to be yes men.”
Hopefully, these two can patch things up in the not so distant future. In these uncertain times, you never want to be caught holding a grudge for too long.

Charles Barkley Roasts Shaq For His Joe Exotic Connection
Charles Barkley made sure to get some digs in at Shaq over his infamous "Tiger King" cameo.
By now, you have probably seen the infamous Netflix docuseries, "Tiger King." The show follows the exploits of Joe Exotic who is a zookeeper at a zoo for big cats. He has an archnemesis named Carole Baskin and the two have a pretty bitter feud. Well, at one point in the show, we actually get to see NBA legend Shaq. Shaq is a big fan of tigers and while traveling through Oklahoma, he decided to stop by Exotic's zoo.
Following the documentary, Shaq got quite a bit of flack for his appearance as some felt like he was aiding the exploitation of tigers. Shaq has been adamant that he has no relation to exotic although that didn't stop Charles Barkley from roasting him on the latest Inside The NBA reunion show. As you can see in the clip below, Chuck had Shaq shook with incessant questions about his time with Joe Exotic.
Shaq eventually noted that he has never had a tiger in his possession and that he simply likes to make donations for the benefit of all of the animals. Regardless, that didn't stop Chuck from making some funny quips at Shaq's expense. Lord only knows Shaq has done it to Barkley, numerous times.
If you've seen "Tiger King," you would know that Shaq won't be visiting Joe Exotic anytime soon. With this in mind, perhaps the jokes will begin to die down.
