Deshaun Watson has cemented himself as one of the best young quarterbacks in the entire NFL, over the last few years. He was drafted by the Houston Texans which is something that Chicago Bears fans still regret, to this day. Of course, this is because the Bears took Mitch Trubisky over both Watson and Super Bowl-winner Patrick Mahomes. Recently, the Bears made it clear that they wouldn't pick up Trubisky's fifth-year option which means his future in the league is in jeopardy.
On Twitter last night, a debate broke out about black quarterbacks and how some teams operate with prejudice. One journalist stated that the Bears did their due diligence with Watson and though Trubisky was better. Watson certainly disagreed with this notion as he took to Twitter to make it clear that the Bears never talked to him prior to his draft year.
As you can imagine, Twitter had a field day with this information as they immediately slandered the Bears from every angle. For a team to have dismissed Watson so openly is pretty shameful, especially when you consider the talent he displays every weekend.
If you're a Bears fan, this information has to sting, especially since you now have to deal with Trubisky and an inconsistent Nick Foles.
Mitch Trubisky’s Fate With The Bears Sealed After Contract Decision
Mitch Trubisky's future in Chicago is up in the air following the 2020 season.
Chicago Bears fans have grown increasingly impatient with Mitch Trubisky over the last few seasons and in 2019, he had Bears supporters seeing red. It was becoming clear that Trubisky was no longer the future of the franchise and in the offseason, the Bears traded for Nick Foles. Now, the Bears are making yet another decision in relation to Trubisky's future with the franchise.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Bears have declined the fifth-year option on Trubisky's deal which means he will only be under contract through the 2020 season. Once 2021 rolls around, Trubisky will become a free agent and can either be resigned or he could go somewhere else.
This creates an interesting situation for the Bears as Trubisky and Foles will be competing against each other. Of course, Foles is a Super Bowl-winner while Trubisky is still unproven. If he doesn't have a good training camp, Trubisky could be pushed to the bench for an entire season which would certainly hurt him once free agency starts.
If you're the Bears QB, this is a tricky situation and it is most certainly a wake-up call moving forward. Needless to say, NFL fans will be interested to see how it all plays out.
Mitch Trubisky Mercilessly Roasted By Chicago Restaurant
Mitch Trubisky can't seem to catch a break, even in the midst of a pandemic.
Mitch Trubisky is easily one of the most disrespected quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Over the last year, Trubisky has received criticism for his inaccurate passes that kept the Chicago Bears out of the postseason. Trubisky has proven himself to be competent when he wants to be but over the past season, fans have turned on him. In fact, the Bears recently traded for Nick Foles and are planning on making him the starter.
Now, a restaurant in Chicago is taking its own digs at the QB. Of course, we are in the midst of a pandemic and are being encouraged to practice social distancing. The restaurant decided to leave a note encouraging its patrons to maintain their distance and they did it in the most hilarious way possible: by comparing the distance between people to by how much Trubisky misses his receivers by.
“During this Coronavirus outbreak, remember to remain at least 10 feet away from others. If you’re wondering how far that is, picture a Bears wide receiver and then imagine where Trubisky threw the pass. That distance is about 10 feet," the note said.
This note immediately went viral on social media, as it should. Jokes at Trubisky's expense seem to do well on Twitter and this was no exception. If anything, it just goes to show how brutal Chicago sports fans can be.
Chicago Bears Pull Off Trade For Veteran Quarterback
Chicago Bears acquire Nick Foles in trade with Jacksonville Jaguars, signaling "Minshew Mania" is back on.
The Chicago Bears have reached a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire veteran quarterback Nick Foles. According to reports, the Bears are sending a compensatory fourth-round pick to Jacksonville in exchange for the former Super Bowl champion.
Obviously, this isn't a great sign for Chicago's confidence in Mitchell Trubisky, the guy they traded up to select (ahead of Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson) in the 2017 NFL Draft.

As a result of the trade, the Bears will agree to take on the three years remaining on Foles' contract, which pays a base value of $50 million. Meanwhile, the Jags will take on a dead cap charge of $18.75M for 2020, but they do have a total of 12 draft picks at their disposal in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Foles, 31, suffered a broken collarbone in his first game with the Jaguars last season, which paved the way for sixth-round rookie Gardner Minshew to take over. Minshew went 4-4 as a starter while Foles was sidelined, but he was benched once the veteran QB was cleared to return. However, Foles struggled and head coach Doug Marrone went back "Minshew Mania" to close out the season. With Foles now headed to Chicago, it's clear that Marrone and the Jags are prepared to move forward with Minshew as their starting QB in 2020.
Cam Newton Possible Trade Destination Revealed
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are headed towards a messy divorce.
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers haven't exactly been on the best of terms lately. The quarterback and former MVP has experienced numerous injuries over the past couple of years and the Panthers have grown increasingly impatient over the last little while. With this in mind, it wasn't surprising when yesterday it was revealed that the Panthers would be exploring a trade for Newton and that if that doesn't work, they may just release him into the open market.
According to NFL reporter Jonathan Jones, the Chicago Bears are heavily interested in Newton and are in talks to get a deal done before the quarterback is released. The Bears would rather not compete with teams on the free agent market which makes a potential trade a pressing issue for both sides.
The Bears currently have Mitch Trubisky as their starting quarterback although he has been suspect over the past couple of seasons. Throughout the season, there were rumors that Newton could wind up on the Bears and now, it's appearing as though the rumors could become a reality. It's a good fit for the veteran QB and with their defense in mind, Newton could be in a position to compete for a Super Bowl.
Stay tuned for updates on this situation as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Teddy Bridgewater In Talks To Replace Bears’ Mitch Trubisky
Fans in Chicago have been getting increasingly impatient with Mitch Trubisky.
NFL free agency is finally here which means he we have a whole slew of news to report. Some of the biggest stories will involve quarterbacks and as it turns out, the Chicago Bears could be big players which is something many fans probably weren't expecting. Of course, the last two seasons have seen Mitch Trubisky as their starting quarterback, to varying degrees of success. Fans have become impatient with the young QB and are hoping for better. As it turns out, help may actually be on the way, sooner rather than later.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Bears are trying to get a deal done with Teddy Bridgewater, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints. Bridgewater played great in replacement of Drew Brees and many feel like he should be a starter. This deal would theoretically turn Bridgewater into QB1 in Chicago.
Based on the reactions from Bears fans in the comments of the post above, it appears as though they are quite happy about this decision. While Bridgewater isn't elite by any stretch, he is certainly an improvement upon the inconsistent play they got this past season. As for Trubisky, it remains to be seen what his next move will be.
