Kendrick Perkins is a controversial man these days thanks to his peculiar hot takes in relation to the game of basketball. Perkins played in the NBA for just over a decade and was known as a big man who could do some real damage in terms of physicality. This has made him a polarizing analyst with many fans loving or hating him.
During a recent appearance on ESPN's "Hoop Streams," Perkins spoke about something that occurred near the end of his career. Of course, we are talking about the infamous Steph Curry tripping incident during the 2018 NBA Finals. As Perkins describes, he still doesn't know why Curry was mad and maintains that he never did anything wrong.
“First of all, I don’t know what I did wrong,” Perkins said. “Right? I’m sitting down. I didn’t move, I didn’t do nothing. I’m sitting down, chilling, right? I’m minding my business. We’re getting beat, he’s doing his thing. He said that I tried to trip him. I’m like, ‘Bro, I didn’t move my legs. I didn’t stick my leg out. I was sitting the same way the whole time. What are you talking about?’ ” And I was just like — you know what I told him? I said, ‘Steph, man. Chill out, man. For real, before I make you smell my cologne.’"
In the end, Curry got the last laugh as his team swept the Cleveland Cavaliers en-route to a third NBA title.

"It was the longest I've ever gone without shooting a basketball," Cavs Forward Kevin Love told ESPN, Friday. "So I didn't care. I just wanted to get some shots up."
He says the players were all screened before being allowed on the courts: "Asked us a few questions. How we're feeling, if anybody has been sick in the house, if we've been sick, if we've basically adhered to all the guidelines that are put in place, not only by the NBA but state to state."
Coaches wore latex gloves and facemasks throughout the practice: "Latex gloves make your hands sweat more than I ever knew!" one Cavs coach told ESPN. "Definitely took a little to get used to with the gloves, but definitely the safest technique right now if you think about it."
Love, personally, is just excited to be back on the court. "I feel like anybody who needs an escape or in everyday life is looking for any type of normalcy back doing something they love," he said. "For me, I played 25-ish years of organized basketball, and this is the longest I've ever gone without touching [a basketball]. And it's something I really, really enjoy doing.
"So for me, it definitely was a big dopamine hit, and it just felt great to get in there and sweat outside of doing my workouts at home or getting on a treadmill. Going out there and having some sense of normalcy and getting on the court and actually shooting was pretty uplifting."

LeBron James Rookie Jersey Set To Auction For Insane Price
LeBron James' rookie jersey could go for high six-figures.
LeBron James has been one of the most dominant players in the NBA over the last 17 years and during that time, he has been the undisputed face of the league. LeBron memorabilia tends to do extremely well at auction so it shouldn't be a surprise that one of his rookie jerseys would be expected to fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The Cleveland Cavaliers jersey LeBron wore during his fifth and eighth games in the league is now being sold through Goldin Auctions and they are hoping that the memorabilia will break a basketball jersey record of $630K.
“LeBron James memorabilia is some of the most sought-after memorabilia currently,” Ken Goldin said. "After setting the record earlier this year for the sale of a LeBron James card for $900,000.00, we are hoping this jersey will set the record for the highest price paid for a basketball jersey which is $630,300.00."
There are certainly some persistent collectors out there so we wouldn't be surprised if $630K is surpassed. As of right now, this is the earliest rookie jersey of LeBron's on the market. With this in mind, this is the perfect piece to hang up on your wall, next to your other collectibles.
How much would you pay for this?

LeBron James Offers Message To Cavaliers Fans Amid NBA Hiatus
LeBron James would have been back in Cleveland tonight had it not been for the Coronavirus shutdown.
Sports fans have been deprived of live events for two weeks now due to the Coronavirus scare. COVID-19 has quickly become a public health crisis that affects every single person in the world. With this in mind, we won't be able to have sports for a very long time although hopefully, seasons aren't completely canceled. One of the leagues affected by this is the NBA who were supposed to have a full slate of games today.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to go up against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight. This is a significant matchup as it would have seen LeBron returning to his hometown for a game against his former team. The legendary NBA superstar was feeling quite sad about the situation and took to Twitter where he addressed Cavaliers fans who won't get to see him play.
"Was so looking forward to being back in Cleveland tonight playing in front of my family, friends and fans I spent 11 years of my career with. Always a special place in my heart! Until next time!" LeBron wrote.
It's clear that the NBA shutdown is weighing heavily on players who wanted to carry out the season. At the end of the day, basketball is these men's livelihood and when it's stripped away from them so suddenly, it can be difficult.
If everyone stays home and listens to proper instruction, this pandemic can go away sooner rather than later.
Iman Shumpert Reveals Why LeBron James Is So Hated
LeBron James is beloved by many but he is still incredibly hated by a lot of basketball fans.
Iman Shumpert got to play with LeBron James during his second stint in Cleveland. The two even won a championship together in 2016. With this in mind, it shouldn't be surprising that Shumpert has a lot to say about the NBA legend. The other day, Shumpert spoke about what makes LeBron so great and how his basketball IQ is better than everyone else's. In a recent interview, Shumpert spoke about how LeBron is one of the most hated players in the league and that it really all comes down to just one thing.
Speaking to This is 50, Shumpert admitted that LeBron gets so much hate because he is so good. Not to mention, he hasn't had any real scandals and people want to see him fail. He's simply too perfect which makes him look like less of a real person. Shumpert noted that LeBron has been with the same woman since high school and that he is a model citizen who does so much for his community.
Shumpert makes some solid points here. Perhaps another reason for the LeBron hate is "The Decision." Of course, this occurred in 2010 when LeBron swapped teams and went to the Miami Heat. Following this move, many fans fell out of favor with LeBron although since then, he has been able to get back in the good graces of fans everywhere.
As LeBron enters the final stages of his career, it really feels like people are starting to love him all over again.
Iman Shumpert Praises LeBron James For His "Superpower" Basketball IQ
Iman Shumpert says that it’s amazing how LeBron James knows absolutely everything about all players, coaches, and staff in the NBA.
Love him or hate him, LeBron James has been hailed as one of the NBA’s greatest players of all time. The Akron, Ohio native is respected on and off of the court for his basketball skills, philanthropic efforts, altruistic nature, and of course, Taco Tuesday videos. His former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate, Iman Shumpert, sat down with Vlad TV to discuss what it was like ballin’ in the paint with the basketball icon.

Shumpert recalled moving form the New York Knicks to the Cavaliers and joining forces with LeBron. “It felt weird,” Shumpert said of the early days. “But Bron has a very genuine characteristic. It’s like, he has to share basketball knowledge. It might be his biggest superpower, his ability to get everybody on the same page. It’s actually kinda scary. He can explain this game forward and backward.”
The free-agent went on to call LeBron’s basketball IQ “unbelievable.” Shumpert said James knows the “playbook, knows where everybody’s supposed to be, know the other team’s coach’s playbook, style of coaching, how his ball club’s gonna play.” He added that it’s amazing that LeBron James can know intimate knowledge of every player’s strengths and weaknesses around the court and how their coaches are going to move because of Bron’s passion, skill, and talent of the game. “Make me feel like I didn’t do my homework!” Watch Iman Shumpert praise LeBron James below and check out what else he had to say about playing alongside Carmelo Anthony.
Kevin Love Helps Out Arena Workers With Massive Donation
Kevin Love came through with a huge gesture for employees affected by the NBA shutdown.
Kevin Love has been known to be a charitable man and his experiences with anxiety have made him especially empathetic to those going through the same thing. Anxiety has been heightened amongst everybody as of late due to the Coronavirus. The NBA and other sports leagues across the world recently shut down their seasons in an attempt to enact social distancing measures. This is especially concerning for arena workers who get paid at an hourly rate. Now, they are out of jobs which could lead to dire consequences in their personal lives.
Love is well-aware of the anxiety this has brought the workers and yesterday, he announced that he and his foundation would donate $100,000 to arena workers who have been affected. This was paired with a pledge from the Cleveland Cavaliers to create a compensation program for employees at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
“Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. And the fear and anxiety resulting from the recent outbreak of COVID-19 can be extremely overwhelming,” Love wrote. “Through the game of basketball, we’ve been able to address major issues and stand together as a progressive league that cares about the players, the fans, and the communities where we work. I’m concerned about the level of anxiety that everyone is feeling and that is why I’m committing $100,000 through the @KevinLoveFund in support of the @Cavs arena and support staff that had a sudden life shift due to the suspension of the NBA season. I hope that during this time of crisis, others will join me in supporting our communities.”
This is an incredible gesture that will certainly go a long way. Perhaps other players will follow suit.
Kevin Porter Jr. Gives Media And Fake Fans A Stern Talking To
Kevin Porter Jr wasn't happy with how the media ignored his injury.
Kevin Porter Jr. has been making an impact with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season and while the team hasn't been very successful, it's clear the team is excited about their young player. Last night, Porter Jr. was set to be a starter although it appears as though he came to the court without his jersey, which led to a quick dash back to the locker room. Later in the game, Porter Jr suffered a head injury and had to miss some time.
Throughout the game, many outlets posted about Porter Jr.'s jersey blunder, without mentioning his injury and how severe it was. Porter was upset about the ordeal as he took to Twitter today where he put the media and disloyal fans on blast. Clearly, Porter Jr. has had enough of the antics.
"Thank you to media for posting this & disregarding my head injury. Thank you for the disloyal fans/supporters, thank you for the none prayers," Porter Jr. said. "I love the hate that’s what keeps me going, sorry for who lost money in fantasy, didn’t plan on getting hit in the head."
This season has been frustrating for Porter Jr. and company so it's easy to see why he was upset about the coverage. Hopefully, Porter Jr.'s relationship with fans and the media can be repaired, sooner than later.
JR Smith Makes Head-Scratching Claim About His Abilities
JR Smith is looking for an NBA team to give him a chance ahead of the postseason.
JR Smith has been an interesting character, to as the least, over the last few seasons. His funny celebrations, bizarre antics, and head-scratching plays continue to entertain fans while also becoming internet memes. Unfortunately for Smith, the play people will remember him for is running out the clock of Game 1 of the NBA Finals when the score was tied. Since the Cleveland Cavaliers have released him and now, he's looking to make a comeback and eventually play for a new team.
Recently, Smith was on Instagram where he began to answer fan questions. At one point, Smith claimed that he is motivated to make a comeback because he is "better than 85% of the players on the court."
Of course, these comments were met with some pushback. Smith is a fine player when he wants to be but his shooting is way too inconsistent and his basketball IQ is suspect at times. With this in mind, it shouldn't be surprising that many took issue with JR's seemingly undeserved confidence. Eighty-five is definitely a stretch although he's certainly better than some of the guys getting minutes this year. Regardless, when your biggest highlight is one of the worst miscues in NBA history, it's hard to get another job.
If JR Smith were to get back in the league, which team would you like to see him play for?
Charles Barkley Eviscerates Cavs Players After Beilein’s Firing
Charles Barkley sounds off on the Cleveland Cavaliers youngsters and veterans following coach Beilein's firing.
Charles Barkley didn't mince words when he called out the Cleveland Cavaliers players on Thursday night, following news that the team had fired head coach John Beilien just 54 games into his five-year contract. Barkley was critical of Cavs' players throughout the "thugs" controversy, and he really laid into the team during last night's episode of 'Inside The NBA' for the way they ran Beilein out of town.

In criticizing the "ridiculous and unprofessional" way that the Cavs treated Beilein, Barkley made a point to call out Cavs veterans, such as Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, for not being leaders, and blasted the team's young stars, like Collin Sexton and Darius Garland, for thinking they're better than they really are.
“I want to call out the Cleveland Cavaliers. I thought what they did to coach Beilein was ridiculous, unprofessional,” Barkley said. “I think the veterans on that team were not leaders. I think the young guys on that team who can’t play think they are better than they are and they tried to get that man fired. They got that man fired ... I’m so disgusted by those players trying to get that man fired.
“John Beilein is a hell of a coach and I think he’s a good guy. But for those players to complain about ‘We’re practicing too hard, we’re watching too much film,’ because they stink. Because they stink. I just didn’t think that was fair. When a coach is wrong I’m going to call him out. When players are wrong I’m going to call them out. I’m disgusted by what the Cavaliers did to coach Beilein."
The Cavs (14-40, worst in the East) will play their first game under interim head coach J.B Bickerstaff on Friday night as they pay a visit to the nation's capital for a matchup with the Washington Wizards (20-33). Check out the video footage of Barkley's comments below.
