DaBaby has broken his silence on the aftermath of George Floyd's murder by police, pointing out that most people speaking out about these injustices are only concerned with getting clout or "saving face." After George Floyd was killed by police in Minneapolis last week, tons of celebrities have been using their platforms to spread awareness, information, and useful resources, where their followers can sign petitions and donate to causes aiding in the fight for justice.
Many of these celebrities have also been calling out their peers for their silence amid the protests that have broken out across the country seeking justice for Floyd and the end of police brutality. However, DaBaby, a real-life victim of police brutality, feels that a lot of the activist efforts going on are largely performative, and that most of these people speaking out do not understand the reality first-hand.
"I always sit back and let the hype blow over," DaBaby tweeted on Sunday (May 31st), "before I give my insight so my perspective don’t get confused with all the ppl who only speak for likes & comments, or to save face, or maybe because their PR department, label, or management told em they should make a statement...."
"....in order to preserve their integrity & not lose fans, business, support from the black community, etc.," he continued. "Ion gotta fake kick it & play sad. This Baby it’s been F*CK EM. & It’s gone be f*ck em. Im really what they consider a N*GGA I go through this shit daily..."
"I’m a real life victim of racism & police brutality," he declares. "95% of the people yapping on the net aint never been beat up by the police & charged w/ some sh*t they ain’t even do, I HAVE. Assault on an officer 2017, look it up. Wanna win OUT SMART em, beat em at their own game."
"If n*ggas knew better they would know it ain’t just the police, it’s f*ck da LAW period," he continued. "The whole system. Sh*t been corrupted, and a lot of us really victims of it, sh*t I got cases open RIGHT NOW. Stay focused w/ your fight, out smart em."
"And before I go," he concluded, "all you internet MFs who ain’t never even been in handcuffs before don’t talk to me, You don’t know nothing bout this sh*t, stay focused. Don’t let your intentions get watered down worrying about what 'famous' ppl doing with their influence. Y’all be safe."
Jordyn Woods Gets Trolled For Going To Kobe Bryant’s Gym For Clout
One of Jordyn Woods’ followers remarked that suddenly working out at Mamba Sports Academy seemed “clout-ish.”
While most people manage to go the gym frequently in January and then abandon the healthy lifestyle for the rest of the year, Jordyn Woods appears to do the opposite. On Monday (Feb. 10), she took to Instagram to inform her 11 million followers that she’s back on her workout grind and she’s reviving the new year’s resolution spirit.
The influencer captioned two videos of her doing exercises: “getting back to it????who’s with me!? what are your 2020 fitness goals? (That was my first time doing the second machine but after the 5th set I was a lot more graceful ?) for those of you asking the first workout is all for core strength.” A follower expressed appreciation in the comments for Woods sharing the not-so-graceful set, to which she replied that she has “to keep it real.”
In contrast, another follower criticized Woods for suddenly deciding to work out at the fitness facility that Kobe Bryant founded after his passing. “This seems very clout-ish. Mamba Sports Academy? Since when…? ?” Woods’ friend came to her defense in the replies, explaining that she was the one who had invited Woods to come workout with her there. “People just have anything to say,” Woods commented, brushing off the hater.
In the caption for this post, Woods also plugged her company, FRSTPLACE, which supplies fitness guides.

She recently sat down with Baller Alert to share a few more details about her next project, revealing that she's still waiting on a few more tracks to round things out. "I have my cool, calm, and collective songs. Just missing a couple of more club hits, but we getting there," she revealed. When asked about a potential release date, she said she didn't know. "I'm not sure, I can never put a date on it," she stated. "When you feel like you got those songs that's when it's gonna come out. I cannot put a date on my ears. When I feel like I have it, that's when."
The rapper also talked to the outlet about Kulture, revealing that "Clout" is her toddler's favorite song. "When she sees the video she's like, 'Dada, mommy.' It's the cutest thing." Then, in true Baller Alert fashion, the publication asked the rapper to give advice on how to snag a baller. She didn't say anything but showed off her neck. No one understood what she meant, but then she said, "You see the longitude?" Everyone laughed as they then got that she was referring to the depth of her throat.
Moving on swiftly, she also gave advice to new artists who may be inspired by her success: Always get a lawyer. No matter how broke you think you are, invest in a lawyer before making any deals. Watch her clip below.
