Our hope is officially restored after Punch, the President of Top Dawg Entertainment, back-pedaled and said there is still a possibility that the long-rumored Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole collaborative album will happen.
This week, the head of TDE said that the joint project would never happen, tearing down any hope of its existence.
"That's not happening. 0 tracks. Not happening," wrote the executive on Twitter.
After seeing how things exploded on social media and in the news, Punch back-pedaled a touch and is now claiming that there is still a chance that it will arrive one day. However, we shouldn't get our hopes up.
"Nah I don’t know. It might still happen. I want it to happen," he tweeted last night. "Y’all really want that album still??? Like for real? I think it would great for hip hop. I did my part though. I spoke to both of them. Hit them n***as!"
So, there you go. It looks like there are no current plans for the collaborative album from Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole to ever see a release. However, if the fans push hard enough with Kendrick and Cole, maybe they'll finally cave and do it for the culture.
Boosie Badazz Says Collab Album With NBA Youngboy Is “Almost Done”
Boosie says they only need to record a few more songs.
Well it appears the long awaited album from Boosie Badazz and NBA Youngboy is almost here. The Louisiana rapper recently revealed on IG live that the album is “almost done” and that they only need a couple more songs to wrap it up.
“I don’t drop mixtapes, man. Stop saying that shit,” Boosie replied to a fan in a Q&A who asked about the collaboration. “We ain’t dropping no mixtape, it’s an album. I get paid off my music. I don’t drop mixtapes. I drop albums. I ain’t giving shit away. We gon’ drop that bitch. We got about two, three more songs to do. I want to do about 13 songs. We got nine already.”
Boosie first teased the joint project last Summer while NBA YoungBoy was still locked up on a probation violation for his involvement in a South Florida shooting. “FREE @nba_youngboy #shakeback them kids need you young nigga real talk ❤️❤️❤️✅✅✅✅ #atlanticrecords WE GOT A TAPE THATS ? LETS TALK N GET THIS SHIT TO THE STREETS N MAKE SOME MONEY ?‼️” Boosie wrote on Instagram.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again is fresh off the heels of his latest album, Still Flexin Still Steppin, which features 14 songs and a guest appearance from Quando Rondo. Stream that right here and we’ll keep you posted on the upcoming joint project.

Boosie Badazz & NBA YoungBoy Are Prepping A Collabo Album
Those Lousiana boys have been working.
While the collabo album appears to have peaked in 2017, there remain a few in the pipeline. As it happens, Louisiana’s own Boosie Badazz and Youngboy Never Broke Again have been working on a new project, as revealed Instagram. Unveiling the teaser his story, Boosie shared a clip of himself and his young protege turning up to one of their bangers. “New album YB/Boosie coming soon,” he writes, as YoungBoy raps along to his verse.

From the sound of it, the piano-driven track is another hard addition to the catalog, with YoungBoy rapping like a man possessed. Ever since catching a legal break, he appears more focused than ever; between this and his upcoming back-and-forth duet with Offset, YoungBoy fans are likely to leave 2020 good and satisfied. As for Boosie, well, he’s always reliable to drop off some heat.
Unfortunately, all we have to go off is a mysterious “coming soon,” a phrase with which rap fans have a complicated relationship. In today’s climate, it can mean two weeks. On the other hand, it could mean months. Luckily, YoungBoy and Boosie alike are about as prolific as they come – expect this one sooner than later, especially if they’ve already finished the bulk of it.
