Football fans were extremely excited about the XFL. Who wouldn't be? While Vince McMahon's first attempt at the XFL was a total failure, the new-look XFL had a ton of promise. The first five weeks of the season had a relatively solid viewership and it was looking like the league would excel beyond this season. Due to the Coronavirus, the league had to go on an indefinite leave of absence.
Now, the league is announcing that it will cancel the remainder of the 2020 season due to the health risks involved. The league posted a statement on their Twitter page which gave all of the details as to why they made their decision.
“The COVID-19 pandemic, and the most recent local and state regulations, have left the XFL no choice but to officially cancel the remainder of the 2020 season,” Commissioner Oliver Luck stated. “This decision has been made with the health and safety of the entire XFL family as our top priority.”
For now, it looks like numerous leagues could end up following this trend. It's not fun but if we flatten the curve, sports can come back sooner and we will all get healthier quicker. These next few months will be tough but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
U.S. Has Extended Tax Filing Deadline
With the coronavirus pandemic continuing to wreak havoc, Americans have been granted a little bit of leeway during tax season.
Not only have citizens across the world been forced to live in fear for their physical health due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the rampant layoffs and increasingly unstable financial circumstances have let to increased anxiety from a different angle altogether. And while many measures are being planned to lighten the load during this time of crisis, one immediate change has been confirmed by U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
"We are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15," announced Mnuchin, by way of a Tweet. Making it abundantly clear that the decision was made at President Donald Trump's discretion, Mnuchin explains that the three-month delay will benefit both taxpayers and businesses alike.
It's no secret that Trump takes great pride in a thriving economy, and as such, the President has attempted to do his part in alleting the burden. Unfortunately, the economic toll left in the wake of the coronavirus has already led to a massive spike in unemployment, the full impact of which has yet to be revealed. In truth, the fallout is difficult to predict, especially when it comes to more localized businesses-- expect more news to surface as the government seeks to implement new measures to combat an economic downturn.
New York On 24-Hour Lockdown For Coronavirus
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced a 24-hour lockdown for all non-essential workers, starting on Sunday.
Despite the world's best efforts to contain the novel coronavirus, things are quickly shutting down in the United States. Earlier today, it was announced that the entire state of California was ordered to stay at home and self-isolate and now, New York is pretty much in the same boat.
With thousands of new COVID-19 cases being announced in the U.S. this week, state governments have been deciding whether or not to impose similar shutdowns as the ones we're seeing in Italy and Spain. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced just now that all non-essential workers are required to stay home for twenty-four hours, in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
The executive order will take place on Sunday. Cuomo gave a press conference where he spoke about the possible implications, recognizing that his actions "will cause disruption."
"[My orders] will cause businesses to close. They'll cause employees to stay at home. I understand that. They will cause much unhappiness. I understand that also. I accept full responsibility. If someone is unhappy, if somebody wants to blame someone, or complain about someone, blame me. There is no one else who is responsible for this decision," said Cuomo.
The Governor noted that this is not just a "helpful hint." Measures will be put in place to ensure that nobody leaves the house.
"These provisions will be enforced," he said. "These are not helpful hints. This is not if you really want to be a great citizen. These are legal provisions. They will be enforced. There will be a civil fine and mandatory closure for any business that is not in compliance. Again, your actions can affect my health. That's where we are."
This is a serious situation and we advise you to not take this lightly.
Jeremy Lin Rips Donald Trump For Calling COVID-19 "Chinese Virus"
Jeremy Lin is upset at the damage Donald Trump is doing to Chinese people around the world.
There has been a ton of unrest lately due to the Coronavirus. Simply put, people are scared and it is starting to bring out the best and worst in us. The Coronavirus began spreading in China back in December and many have used this as an opportunity to be racist towards Chinese people which is 100 percent wrong. At this point, putting the blame on anyone is both xenophobic and gets us nowhere closer to a cure. Despite this, President Donald Trump continues to refer to the disease as the "Chinese Virus."
Chinese-American basketball star Jeremy Lin has taken exception to this and recently got on Twitter to blast the President for his reckless words. As Lin explains, numerous Chinese people are being attacked because people are scared that they are carriers. Of course, these fears aren't based in reality but with Trump's rhetoric, the fears have been exacerbated.
"And I dont wanna hear about no German measles/Spanish flu bc everyday Asian-Americans inc ppl I know are threatened and physically attacked. I dont give a crap about the history of names rn. What I do know is this subtle anti-Chinese message only empowers more hate towards asians," Lin explained.
Many of Lin's followers didn't agree with his sentiments while others sympathized with the NBA champion. Regardless, it's clear that we are better off coming together in this time of need.
LeBron James Explains What He Misses Most About Basketball
LeBron James has been going through it during the NBA Coronavirus shutdown.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are just like everyone else in the world right now as they are currently being forced to isolate themselves. By now, you've probably heard about flattening the curve in order to combat the Coronavirus. With numerous players in the NBA testing positive for the virus, it is imperative that people start taking this thing seriously and do something about it sooner than later.
Last night, James went on IG live out of pure boredom and began speaking with all of his fans. At one point, someone asked LeBron whether or not he was enjoying his little vacation. As he explained, this whole thing has been hard on him and his teammates. They want to be able to play for the fans and as of right now, they're simply not able to do that.
"No, no I miss playing ball. I miss doing what I do. I miss being in front of the Lakers faithful. I miss being in front of the opposing fans when I'm on the road...we [were] hitting our stride," LeBron said.
LeBron was well on his way to a deep playoff run and if the season gets canceled, the Lakers superstar will be robbed of an opportunity at a championship. Hopefully, we can get this virus under control and go back to normal so the NBA comes back in short order.
Marcus Smart Issues Statement After Testing Positive For COVID-19
Marcus Smart is the latest player to test positive for the Coronavirus and now, he's speaking out about it all.
Marcus Smart has been a dominant defensive player this season and some feel he could even win defensive player of the year, that's if his team ever gets to play again this season. Numerous players in the NBA have tested positive for COVID-19 and now, Smart is one of them. The Celtics announced last night that one of their players got infected and while they didn't use Smart's name, the player decided to come forward with a quick PSA of his own.
As Smart explains in the video below, he is feeling fine and that he has been self-isolating so that he doesn't give anyone else the virus. He also urged his fans and younger people to stay home so that they don't infect anybody else.
"I’ve had no symptoms and I feel great. But the younger generation in our country MUST self distance. This is not a joke. Not doing so is selfish. Together we can beat this, but we must beat it together by being apart for a short while. Much love!!" Smart wrote.
In addition to Smart, two Lakers players tested positive for Coronavirus and another staff member on the Philadelphia 76ers did, as well. For now, the names of these individuals have not been released but if we get any updates, we will be sure to update you.
California Ordered To Self-Isolate During Coronavirus
Amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, California governor Gavin Newson has issued an order imploring citizens to stay home.
In order to combat the ongoing spread of Coronavirus, drastic measures are being undertaken on a global scale. With the number of infected raising rapidly by the day, California governor Gavin Newson has officially ordered the entire population of forty-million to stay inside and self isolate. At this point in time, over nine-hundred have tested positive for the virus, with a death count of nineteen.

By Newson’s order, Californian residents are not to leave their houses save for “essential circumstances,” namely shopping for groceries, medicine, and transporting to jobs deemed unmissable. Some may declare the measures to be excessive, but given Newson’s somber prediction that over half the state’s population would be infected within two months, it feels more integral than ever.
CNN transcribed fragments of Newson’s statement, in which he informed that the order will not be enforced by law. Still, he made it clear that he expects citizens to take the process seriously and alter their behavior patterns accordingly. “I don’t believe the people of California need to be told through law enforcement that it’s appropriate just to home-isolate, protect themselves,” Newsom stated. “We are confident that the people of the state of California will abide by it and do the right thing.”
Those who have no choice but to leave the house are strongly encouraged to practice social distancing. Be safe out there, everyone.

Streaming numbers will surely go up in the next few weeks as the majority of people practice social distancing in the comfort of their home. It appears that this caught enough traction to get Beyonce's attention who retweeted the original tweet. Of course, OP was struck with excitement after getting acknowledged by Beyonce. "I AM ON THE FLOOR!!!!! BEYONCE RTED ME!!! WHAT THE HELLLLLL!!!! I AM DYIIIIIINNNGG SEND HELP!!!!! I AM CRYIIIIIIIIIIIIING," she wrote before adding that Beyonce barely tweets from her account, let alone retweeting fans.
Following the watch party, Beyonce fans proved that there's strength in numbers as it became the #1 global trend on Twitter within 45 minutes of the watch party. Papoose Spits Topical Bars In New Freestyle
With radio freestyles at an all-time low, Papoose takes to the whip to play a guessing game with some high-brow bars.
While it's no secret that many items have gone into scarcity, including the in-person radio freestyle, Papoose has come through with a serviceable replacement for the time being. Taking place from the interior of his whip, Pap opted to play a guessing game of sorts, inviting listeners to follow his lead and venture their best guesses. "Who am I ???" he inquires, engaging with fans Instagram. "Hashtag your answer in the comments."

Taking to a low-key, vaguely spooky sample, Pap paints a mental picture. "I was born in a laboratory, my mother's a scientist," he raps. "I don't know who my father, they both denying it / China said it was the U.S, they telling different stories / I don't know who was my father, somebody call Maury / when you sneeze, people used to say God bless you / since I came around, now when you sneeze they disrespect you / you don't have the symptoms, so you think I'm not inside ya? / ask KD -- I'm the real easy money sniper."
Hardly what you would call a challenge, but an interesting take from the Golden Father all the same. In truth, it's hard to say how such eerily topical lines will be received, but it certainly helps to address the ongoing situation head-on. Don't expect these to be the last Coronavirus bars you hear this year -- they may very well, however, earn the title of "most conceptual."

JoJo remixes her hit single "Leave (Get Out)" into a social distancing PSA.
JoJo remixed her debut single, "Leave (Get Out)" into a must-watch social distancing public service announcement that is catchy enough to influence people to stay the hell in the house. With Donald Trump recently declaring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) a national emergency and local governments closing recreational businesses, limiting restaurant capacity, and temporarily closing public schools, the general public has been urged to only leave their homes if it is absolutely necessary. Now, with the governor of California, Gavin Newson claiming that 56% of the California population could possibly contract the life-threatening disease, hopefully, more public figures will follow JoJo's lead in encouraging their fellowship to self-isolate as much as possible.

"You been out doing god knows what
Breathing and touching everyone
And I refuse to die
Imma keep my ass inside"JoJo later continues during her feed singing:
"I never thought corona could be such a nasty bitch
But now that she’s here
Boy all I want is for you to use common sense
Stay in, right now
So learn how, to cook now
And practice good hygiene""Leave (Get Out)" might have been JoJo's first-ever studio single, but it allowed the songstress to make history as she became the youngest solo artist in history to top the Billboard Pop Songs chart at the tender age of just 13-years-old. The artist born, Joanna Noëlle Levesque also has a new project entitled, Good To Know (2020), expected to drop sometime this pring.
