He may be a comedian, but Dave Chappelle is also respected as a commentator on the culture. For decades, Chappelle has used his talents, and his platform, in an effort to shed light on issues plaguing politics, entertainment, and social justice issues. In a surprise move, in the wee hours of Friday (June 12) morning, Chappelle's 27-minute special 8:46with Netflix was shared. The special was reportedly filmed on June 6 in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where Chappelle spent much of his childhood.
In true Dave Chappelle fashion, he didn't hold back as he addressed the recent slayings of black people. During the special Chappelle called out controversial Black conservative Candace Owens, insulting her...uh, nether regions... in the process. “I seen Candace Owens try to convince white America, ‘Don’t worry about it. He’s a criminal anyway,'" Chappelle recalled of Owens making a 15-minute video of how George Floyd shouldn't be respected because of his criminal past. 'I don’t give a f*ck what this n*gga did. I don’t care what this n*gga did. I don’t care if he personally kicked Candace Owens in her stanky p*ssy. I don’t know if it stanks, but I imagine it does. If I ever find out, I’ll let you know for sure. I’ll tell like Azealia Banks. I’ll tell.”
The joke is a reference to Azealia Banks's recent confession that she had an affair with Dave Chappelle. "I have actually f*cked a lot of f*cking very powerful f*cking men," Banks said. "I should ruin your f*cking marriage, I should tell the world we f*cked. What the f*ck I'm keeping secrets from y'all n*ggas for? Nah, Dave Chappelle can fc*k me again. That was some good black d*ck."
Chappelle laughed at his own joke but didn't confirm whether or not Azealia Banks was telling the truth. Did you check out 8:46 yet? If so, what did you think about the Netflix special?
View this post on InstagramCandace Owens & Don Lemon Respond To Dave Chappelle’s Digs At Them In New Special
Candace Owens and Don Lemon both appeared to be fairly unbothered by Dave Chappelle calling them out in his new Netflix comedy special, "8:46."
Candace Owens and Don Lemon have both addressed what Dave Chappelle had to say about them in his new Netflix comedy special, "8:46," about George Floyd's murder and the subsequent protests, and neither of them are too upset about his comments. In his new special, which premiered at midnight on Friday (June 12th), the comedian discusses the police killing of George Floyd and everything that came after, all the while putting a few public figures on blast for how they've handled the situation. One of the targets of Dave's ire was right-wing pundit, Candace Owens, who sparked outrage recently after making disrespectful comments about George Floyd.
"Candace Owens, that rotten b*tch, she’s the worst. I can’t think of a worse way to make money. She’s the most articulate idiot I’ve ever seen in my f*cking life," Dave said, among other critiques he made about her. Candace heard that Dave had brought her up in his special, and insisted on Twitter that she wasn't offended at all.
"To every Democrat tweeting me the clip of #DaveChappelle insulting me: I’m not a leftist. I have a sense of humor & I think comedians SHOULD make fun of people," Candace tweeted. "Dave Chappelle is one of the greatest comedians of all time and I made it into one of his specials. That’s POWER!"
"We’ve arrived too suddenly into a culture where people can’t laugh at themselves, or want to restrain comedians," she continued. "I will never be a part of that culture. Dave Chappelle—you are legend and I’d love to meet you and challenge you to say any of that to my face! All love!"
Dave also went after Don Lemon in his special for publicly naming celebrities who had yet to speak out on George Floyd's death at the time. "Do you want to see a celebrity right now?” Dave asked, in response to Don's plea. “Does it matter about celebrity? No, this is the streets talking for themselves, they don’t need me right now…Why would anyone care what their favourite comedian thinks after they saw a police officer kneel on a man’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds?” Don responded to Dave's comments on-air, indicating that, "I actually agree with Dave Chappelle."
"I agree that I think the establishment has been a bit behind—and I consider myself part of the establishment because I am over 40 years old," Don said. "They think that part of the world that we created and what we did, maybe we didn't move fast enough and we weren't strong enough and so they are out there fighting...I think they're not only speaking to the white people in this country, but also to all of us in the establishment. I think it's a moment we should all be using our platform to do whatever we can."
Elsewhere in his Netflix special, Dave took aim at Fox News host Laura Ingraham for her hypocrisy in supporting Drew Brees speaking out on politics but telling LeBron James to "shut up and dribble" back in 2018.
Dave Chappelle Reveals Suprising Kobe Bryant Story In New Special
Dave Chappelle recounted how Kobe Bryant's death affected him, during his new special.
Dave Chappelle recently released his brand new Netflix special called "8:46" and it is filled with some hilarious bits and some personal anecdotes. Perhaps one of the more somber moments in the special is when Chappelle begins talking about Kobe Bryant who passed away earlier this year. In fact, there were some staggering coincidences when it came to Chappelle's relationship to Kobe that it made him not want to go to the Grammy's.
For those who don't know, Chappelle won a Grammy for one of his comedy specials this year. Kobe died on the same day as the awards show and because Chappelle was so close with the Lakers star, he simply didn't feel right going. Not to mention, Bryant's jersey numbers are 8 and 24, and they were already hanging in the rafters at the Staples Center. Chappelle was born on August 24th so the numbers hit home for him.
“I loved Kobe Bryant. He died the day I won a Grammy. That was why I didn’t show up at the Grammy’s, because Kobe died,” Chappelle said. “They had both of his f***ing jersey numbers hanging up — 8 and 24 — well, that’s my birthday. I cried like a baby.”
Chappelle's story is both compelling and extremely sad considering the circumstances. It seems like everyone who knew Kobe had their own stories about him and Chappelle was no different.
Dave Chappelle Goes After Candace Owens, Don Lemon, & More In George Floyd Special
Dave Chappelle called out a number of public figures in his new Netflix stand up special, in which he discusses the recent police killing of George Floyd.
Dave Chappelle returned to the stand-up stage in a new surprise Netflix special about the recent police killing of George Floyd, subsequent protests against police brutality and systemic racism, and everything in between. The special aired without promo in the early hours of the morning on Friday (June 12th), and sees the comedian laying into the media for how they’ve handled the murder of George Floyd and begging America to get on board with these protests.

Dave begins the special by describing why this police killing of a Black American in particular was the last straw. “When I watched that tape I understood this man knew he was going to die,” he said, noting that it took him a week to finally be able to watch the horrific footage. “People watched it, people filmed it and for some reason that I still don’t understand, all these f*cking police had their hands in their pockets. Who are you talking to? What are you signifying? That you can kneel on a man’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and feel like you wouldn’t get the wrath of God? That is what is happening right now. It’s not for a single cop, it’s for all of it, f*cking all of it. I don’t mean to get heavy but we gotta say something.”
He goes on to ridicule CNN’s Don Lemon for famously calling out certain rich and powerful celebrities who hadn’t spoken out on this issue at the time. “[Lemon] says, ‘Where are all these celebrities? Why are you not talking?’ This n***a said, ‘Everybody.’ I was screaming at the TV, ‘I dare you to say me, n***a, I dare you!’ Has anyone ever listened to me doing comedy? Have I not ever said anything about these things before? So now all of a sudden this n***a expects me to step in front of the streets and talk over the work these people are doing as a celebrity.”

“Answer me: Do you want to see a celebrity right now?” he continued. “Do we give a f*ck what Ja Rule thinks? Does it matter about celebrity? No, this is the streets talking for themselves, they don’t need me right now. I kept my mouth shut. And I’ll still keep my mouth shut. But don’t think my silence is complicit…Why would anyone care what their favourite comedian thinks after they saw a police officer kneel on a man’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds?”
Dave also ripped into the right-wing media by calling Fox News’ Laura Ingraham “a regular-ass white b*tch with a platform” and “a c*nt” for insisting Drew Brees has a right to his opinion about politics while telling LeBron James to “shut up and dribble” in 2018 for his activism. Next, Dave targeted Trump-supporting “free thinker” Candace Owens for her insensitive and disrespectful comments about George Floyd.

“I’ve seen Candace Owens try to convince white America, ‘Don’t worry about it. He’s a criminal anyway,’” Dave says. “I don’t give a f*ck what this n***a did. I don’t care what this n***a did. Candace Owens, that rotten b*tch, she’s the worst. I can’t think of a worse way to make money. She’s the most articulate idiot I’ve ever seen in my f*cking life.” He goes on to drag her for suggesting that Black America had “chosen” Floyd to be their hero despite his past.
“‘Why does the black community make him a hero? Why did you choose him as a hero?’ We didn’t choose him; you did,” he tells Candace. “They killed him and that wasn’t right, so he’s the guy. We’re not desperate for heroes in the black community. Anyone who survives this nightmare is my god damn hero.” Watch the full special, titled “8:46,” below:
Azealia Banks Claims She Had Sex With Dave Chappelle; Twitter Reacts
Azealia Banks said she had sex with Dave Chappelle, leading to some wild reactions online.
In the midst of her latest tirade against Nicki Minaj (and Doja Cat by extension), Azealia Banks made some wild claims about having an affair with Dave Chappelle.
"I have actually fucked a lot of fucking very powerful fucking men," said the rapper. "I should ruin your fucking marriage, I should tell the world we fucked. What the fuck I'm keeping secrets from y'all n***as for? Nah, Dave Chappelle can fuck me again. That was some good black dick."
As expected, social media has gone bonkers with this revelation, joking about Azealia Banks and how she can make the strangest claims at times. For the last five years, she has remained semi-relevant almost solely because of the crazy shit that comes out of her mouth. This, like other times, elicited a strong reaction.
A number of people are predicting that the comedian, who is a married man, will come for Azealia during his next special. Others are calling her out for her previous remarks that she does not have sex with black men.
At the end of the day, the legitimacy of these claims is really shotty. Azealia Banks isn't always the most believable and she seemingly loves to tear other people down. Do you think this actually happened though?
Jamie Foxx Does Hilarious Impressions Of Jay-Z, Mike Tyson, & More In Viral Clip
Jamie Foxx showed off one of his many impressive skills by doing insanely accurate impressions of Jay-Z, Mike Tyson, Kermit The Frog, and more.
Jamie Foxx is a man of many talents, and nailing celebrity impressions is definitely one of them. Last month, the singer/actor took part in an interview with WBNA's Candace Parker over Instagram live, and a portion of their live session is now making its rounds due to how well Jamie was able to impersonate the likes of Jay-Z, Mike Tyson, Kermit The Frog, and more. At the beginning of the viral clip, Candace asks Jamie how he manages to perfect his impressions. "You do it from music, right?" she asks. "Because you learn the octaves of music?"
Mark Davis/WireImage/Getty Images
"Yeah, you learn the tone first," he indicates, before explaining that, surprisingly, his Jay-Z, Sammy Davis Jr., and Kermit the Frog impressions all stem from the same place. He then dives right into all three of these impressions with ease.
"So that's the same thing," he continues, "you do a certain thing with your throat." He continues on with two different impressions of Dave Chappelle, contrasting the comedian's cadence from when he was young to how he sounds now. Jamie polishes off his impressions by nailing Mike Tyson, whom he's spoken about potentially portraying in a biopic one day.
One user even attached a video of Jamie showcasing his impression of the boxer during an interview in 2015, while he was describing how his Tyson biopic would open. We really hope this film eventually sees the light of day.
Tyler Perry Addresses Madea Criticism With T.I., Doesn’t "Enjoy Wearing A Dress"
Tyler Perry said it has always been his choice to wear a dress, not some Hollywood executives coaxing him with money or fame.
Mabel Earlene “Madea” Simmons may be a beloved character penned and portrayed by Tyler Perry, but there are plenty of people who have criticized the persona. For decades Perry donned that famous purple dress to become the loud-mouthed, Aunt Madea who smokes cigarettes, shoots guns, and takes no mess, but there were plenty of detractors, including his fellow actors, who believed he emasculated himself for a bit of fame. Perry recently was a guest on T.I.‘s Expeditiously Podcast and addressed his naysayers who knock his billion-dollar brand.
T.I. mentioned that Perry’s success has come with “some” level of criticism. “Some?” Perry added with a laugh. “You being polite.” T.I. asked the media mogul to address critics, including Dave Chappelle, who said it’s easier for a black man in Hollywood to become successful if they put on a dress. “Listen, Chappelle is one of the most brilliant people I have ever seen in my life,” Perry said. “Not just in comedy but the man is smart. A heavy, brilliant thinker. So, if that’s the case in Hollywood, then, okay, that’s the case. But you gotta understand, that’s not my case.”
“Nobody owned that dress but me,” Perry continued. “Nobody told me—a two-billion-dollar franchise. Nobody told me to put it on. Nobody makes me put it on. On stage, black man owned the whole show. It was my choice. So, when I got to Hollywood and wanted to do Diary of a Mad Black Woman, it was my choice. Nineteen movies since then, it’s been my choice.”
Recently, Tyler Perry announced that his days portraying Madea were over. “I’m not a man who enjoys wearing a dress,” he told T.I. “For me, an actor, it’s a costume. It like if somebody goes to work at Walmart they put on their uniform. For me, that’ s putting on a uniform, going out and making people laugh. Lifting them up. Encouraging them. The good that it does for so many people.”
Dave Chappelle Not Involved In Shooting Near Ohio Home
Dave Chappelle was not involved in the fatal shooting that took place near his Ohio home on Wednesday morning, authorities confirm.
Dave Chappelle has been confirmed to have had no connection to the fatal shooting that occurred near his family home in Ohio on Wednesday morning. After it was reported that a fatal shooting resulting in multiple deaths had taken place on Wednesday at roughly 11 a.m. near Yellow Springs, Ohio, where Chappelle lives with his wife and three kids, rumours began circulating that the comedian was somehow involved in the incident.
However, the Greene County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that the shooting did not take place at his residence, and that he and his family are alright. Chappelle's rep, Carla Sims, also squashed the rumours, indicating that, "it did not happen at Dave's home" and that "he's fine." She also noted that he was actually in London at the time of the incident.

While the incident is still under investigation, authorities have confirmed that a male and female were killed in the shooting. However, they have yet to release the victims' names. A motive has not yet been determined, though authorities believe that the homeowners had pulled up to their driveway before the suspected gunman confronted them. It was reported that the suspect began exchanging gunfire with the male victim when the ex-wife of the homeowner pulled up and began shooting as well. Police found a man and a woman dead in the driveway upon arrival.
Dave Chappelle On Andrew Yang Endorsement: "This Guy’s Got Great Ideas"
Dave Chappelle explains why he joined the "Yang Gang."
Fifteen years ago, Dave Chappelle was considered defeated by the gatekeepers of the entertainment industry only to make his return to the on-screen and on-stage to become immortalized as one of the most polarizing comedians in modern-day history. Coming off of an amazing Netflix special and Grammy Award win, the Half Baked actor has endorsed democratic candidate Andrew Yang and is now participating in the philanthropist/lawyer's campaign trail.

Chappelle originally became a member of the "Yang Gang" after reading the candidate's book, The War on Normal People and learning of Yang's universal basic income proposal also referred to as "freedom dividends." This past Tuesday, the world-renowned comedian revealed why he chose to endorse Andrew Yang for president during an impromptu discussion with local media. Dave stated:
"If people listen to me, so be it, if they don't, so be it, but I know I'm doing my civic duty by just saying the thing I believe in. This is without irony or a punchline, I'm just telling you – this guy's got some great ideas, you should check it out," according to the Des Moines Register.
Chappelle then went on to discuss how disappointed he is in the wealthy disparity he witnesses throughout his daily interactions saying:
"The wealth disparity between me and my neighbors is immense. It's heartbreaking. And if you know a third of the people up the street can't buy groceries, then you start to feel an imperative concern. It's not the kind of thing I could just see and hope for the best, I should probably say something."
Dave Chappelle even sympathized with Trump voters hoping for a Head of State with new, innovative ideas to move society forward stating:
"I don't look at Trump supporters as my enemy at all," Chappelle said. "I understand why people voted for Trump, I understand people are desperate. And I think that Andrew is right you run against the reasons that Trump got elected. I got friends on both sides of the political aisle, I got fans on both sides of the political aisle. A lot of people say professionally it's not wise to support any candidate, but this idea is so good, that I think it should exist."
The Grammy Award-winning comedian then closed out his statement, praising Andrew Yang:
"And I think the fountainhead of many of the good ideas on the table this year are coming from a single source — Andrew Yang. And for some reason, no one's paying attention. This guy is the origin of a platform that really does address where I think the country needs to go."
With the Iowa caucuses taking place on Feb.3, Dave Chappelle might have the influence to swing voters in the direction democratic candidate, Andrew Yang.
Check out the clip of Dave Chappelle explaining his endorsement of Andrew Yang in the video provided below.
Wayne Brady Bodies "5 Fingers Of Death" Freestyle On "Sway In The Morning"
Not bad, not bad at all.
Never underestimate the rap skills of Wayne Brady. The host and comedian never ceases to amaze, and his tough-guy role on Chappelle’s Show will go down in history as one of the funniest sketches of the series. He’s known as the kitschy, happy-go-lucky actor that has been able to cross age and color lines, but he made sure that people recognized his freestyle skills during his recent visit to Sway in the Morning.
Leon Bennett / Stringer / Getty ImagesSway is known for putting his guests to the test, and Brady was in the hot seat for Sway in the Morning‘s first “5 Fingers of Death Freestyle” of 2020. For those of you unfamiliar with the practice, the person begins to freestyle before Sway pulls a question out of a bag. The person rapping has to then read and answer the question as they incorporate it into their freestyle—not an easy feat.
Even with the beat switches, Brady seemed to handle the task set before him rather effortlessly. “Hold for a second got a question to begin again / This is for all of y’all, this is for the citizens / If I had to change my first name what would it be / If I had to change my first name, well let me see / My first name, let me see would be great / It might be King because it would be ornate,” Brady rapped.
They may not be the wittiest bars on the block, but for over five minutes of top of the dome rhymes coming from a non-rap artist, it’s isn’t half bad. Check it out in full below.
