After the first round, the matchups for the quarterfinals have been set and they will go down on Tuesday, April 7th on ESPN. Ronnie 2K Disses DeMarcus Cousins On Live; Boogie Responds
Ronnie 2K accidentally called DeMarcus Cousins a "dick" during a live-stream, which he has since apologized for.
The NBA season may have been stopped because of the current global health pandemic but that doesn't mean that the league is exempt from the usual drama. Things have just shifted over to the virtual world.
Without the opportunity to compete on the hardwood, NBA players will be going head-to-head in a Players-Only League on NBA 2K20. The game's social media head, Ronnie 2K, is well-known in the basketball community and, although he usually remains diplomatic, he forgot that he was on a live-stream when he hopped on a call about the upcoming tournament. Speaking to one of his colleagues, he accidentally revealed his true feelings about DeMarcus Cousins.
"Cousins is such a dick, I can see him just being like, 'I don't wanna fucking do this,'" said Ronnie 2K, forgetting that he was in the middle of a live-stream.
Once the 7-foot-tall center caught wind of the comment, he responded with a GIF on Twitter, which forced the gaming wiz to apologize.
"Bro in a moment of work stress, I said something super dumb that wasn’t at all how I feel about you," said Ronnie 2K. "My bad & I sincerely apologize. Let’s have some fun starting this weekend, bring the action and see if you can be crowned champ."
Rookie mistake.
NBA Planning NBA 2K Tournament With Big-Name Stars
The NBA is trying to put on a show for the fans now that the season is on pause.
Coronavirus has led to the shut down of numerous sports leagues around the world, including the NBA. The season was just about to get good as we were approaching the playoffs, which would have started next month. Now, we are in a state of purgatory as the league is looking towards plans for the summer when this crisis is supposed to subside. Fans are looking for some much-needed entertainment right now and it appears as though the NBA is ready to provide that in the form of an NBA 2K tournament.
Yes, that’s right, according to Yahoo Sports, the league intends to create a 16-player 1V1 style tournament with some of the NBA’s best players. The tournament would start Friday and is set to include Kevin Durant, Andre Drummond, Donovan Mitchell, and even DeMarcus Cousins. It is believed that this tournament will be aired on ESPN and could last a total of 10 days.

This would be a lot of fun especially when you consider how deprived of sports we are right now. Any kind of entertainment is welcomed and we would love to see some NBA players get in on the video game action.
Who knows, perhaps we will be able to bet on the games. If so, who would you place money on to win the whole thing?

Lakers’ Rumored Plans For Dwight Howard & DeMarcus Cousins Revealed
Dwight Howard and DeMarcus Cousins joined the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2019 offseason.
Dwight Howard and DeMarcus Cousins were seen as promising additions to the Los Angeles Lakers this past summer. Unfortunately, only one of these players has worked out so far. Of course, that player is Dwight Howard who is having an incredible career resurgence. Meanwhile, Cousins has been out with an ACL injury that he sustained while playing at a gym with rec-league players. While the league may be on pause, teams are already thinking about their plans for next year and both of these players could have very different fates with the Lakers.
During an episode of the Hoop Collective podcast, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst spoke about the Lakers and how their plans with these players may take a turn. As he explains, Howard is likely to return although they will probably end up parting ways with Cousins.

“I don’t think DeMarcus Cousins is looking at a make good contract, even if it’s more than a minimum,” Windhorst said. “I think that after a series of injuries he’s had, all of which indicates that he’s coming back too fast, doing too much, he needs even more time of coming back from this. He’s gonna have a job in the league, but I don’t think it’s gonna be a big money.”
Regardless of what the Lakers do, they will certainly have a powerful team next season, especially if they get Anthony Davis back. Stay tuned for more basketball news as we will be sure to bring you the latest information.

DeMarcus Cousins Has Harsh Words For Ex-Coach George Karl
DeMarcus Cousins wasn’t too fond of his old head coach.
DeMarcus Cousins started his career with the Sacramento Kings and while he had some dominant seasons, he had a tumultuous relationship with his head coach, George Karl. The Kings never had much success with Cousins as their star but he definitely made them watchable. Cousins’ stressed relationship with Karl was certainly a major storyline over the past decade and now that Cousins is on a different team, he can speak freely about his tenure with the struggling franchise.
During an appearance on the All The Smoke podcast with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, Cousins was asked about his relationship with Karl and what his true thoughts were on the head coach. Based on his answer, it’s clear that he doesn’t exactly have the fondest memories of the man.
“One of the worst coaches I’ve ever had,” Cousins said. “Incredible mind. He’s just the worst coach. It’s just everything that comes with it.” Despite the negativity, at least Cousins had at least one compliment for his former coach.
As of right now, Cousins is without a team although he has been working out with the Los Angeles Lakers while he rehabs his ACL injury. It appears as though the team could sign him in the offseason once he gets healthy although that remains to be seen.
Lakers’ Kyle Kuzma Reveals New Hair Color: Teammates & Fans React
Kyle Kuzma has ditched the bleached blonde look and Lakers fans are convinced it can only mean good things ahead.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma is back in black after a brief stint as a bleached blonde baller that had basketball fans comparing him to a combination of Slim Shady and Amber Rose. Kuz took to instagram on Monday night to debut his latest look, which drew instant reactions from his teammates and Lakers fans alike.
DeMarcus Cousins, who was recently waived by the Lakers but is expected to remain with the team, led the charge in the comment section as he simply wrote, “Power of prayer" - a reply that was 'liked' nearly 8,000 times. A majority of Lakers fans seemed to agree that Kuzma's new look is for the best, both for him as a player and for the team as a whole, while others suggested that Kuz had no other choice after getting bodied by Zion Williamson on Sunday night.
Whether it was the blonde dye or struggles adjusting to his new role, Kuzma's numbers are down across the board this year, as he is currently averaging 12.7 points with 4.3 rebounds per game. But the return of the black hair has fans believing he's about to turn a corner.
Check out some of the reactions below.
DeMarcus Cousins’ Lakers Role Explained By Frank Vogel
DeMarcus Cousins was recently waived by the Los Angeles Lakers.
DeMarcus Cousins had a ton of promise heading into this NBA season. The Los Angeles Lakers picked him up on a bargain in free agency although unfortunately, he tore his ACL and obliterated his chances of getting on the court this season. Recently, Cousins was released by the Lakers and the team immediately replaced him by signing Markieff Morris. It remains to be seen what Cousins' future in the NBA entails, although the Lakers seem to be content with keeping him around.
Yesterday, it was reported that Cousins may sign with the Lakers next season and now, it appears as though he will be sticking around the Lakers facilities. While speaking to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel admitted that Cousins will be rehabbing with the team and is "part of the family."
With this in mind, Cousins should remain cautiously optimistic about his future. It's clear that he's a great player but injuries have kept him from shining. If he were to play for the Lakers next season, there would be no doubts when it comes to their bility as a championship team, especially if Anthony Davis resigns.
Stay tuned for updates regarding Cousins as we will be sure to bring them to you.
DeMarcus Cousins & Lakers Could Potentially Reunite This Summer
DeMarcus Cousins was recently waived by the Los Angeles Lakers.
DeMarcus Cousins had all the promise in the world this summer after he was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers. With a history of injuries, the Lakers were able to get Cousins on a bargain deal although unfortunately, things went south very quickly. Cousins suffered an ACL injury while playing at a local gym before the season even started. Cousins hasn’t played a single game this season and is still trying to rehab his leg. Over the weekend, it was revealed that Cousins would be waived by the Lakers in order to make room on their roster.
According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, this doesn’t exactly spell the end of Cousins’ tenure in Los Angeles. The move was simply made out of necessity to add some depth heading into the playoffs. Despite this, the Lakers and Cousins are reportedly still interested in reuniting in the summer when the latter recovers from his injury. Meanwhile, Cousins’ former teammate Alex Caruso admitted to Vardon that Cousins has been great in the Lakers locker room.

“DeMarcus has been here rehabbing and been a great member of this team behind the scenes that nobody gets to see because the only thing he can do is be a good teammate and travel, and show up to every game and have a good attitude,” Caruso said. “And he’s done that and been one of the best teammates as far as just keeping everybody’s energy high and not too low.”
Immediately after waiving Cousins, the Lakers replaced him with Markieff Morris who was recently bought out by the Detroit Pistons. Based on this move, it’s clear the Lakers are looking to stock up for the postseason.
Lakers Plan To Waive Former All-Star DeMarcus Cousins: Report
New reports suggest that the Lakers intend to release DeMarcus Cousins in order to bring in Markieff Morris.
The Los Angeles Lakers plan to waive one of their biggest signings from last offseason, DeMarcus Cousins, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne.

The former All-Star is a reportedly a popular player in the locker room, but on the court, he’s been unable to contribute in the slightest, after suffering a torn ACL in August.
The team was able to apply for a disabled player exception since Cousins is set to miss the entire season. The exception is still worth $1.75 million, which is much higher than the league minimum of $694,702.
News of Cousins’ release is surprising, considering head coach Frank Vogel was optimistic about his return for a playoff run over All-Star weekend: “I’m not even sure where he’s at with exactly what he’s doing day-to-day. I just still know he’s a long way away, but they’ve said they’re not ruling out him returning.”
Cousins is expected to be waived in order for the team to bring in newly released forward, Markieff Morris. Morris will be joining his brother, Clippers forward Marcus Morris in Los Angeles.
“That’s my brother man. Man, if he goes to L.A., then I’m gonna be in Staples Center all the time. I think maybe to y’all it might be weird that I’m going to all his games, but that’s what’ll probably happen. And we’ll probably get a house together,” Marcus said, in regards to his brother joining the Lakers.
Morris clears waivers on Sunday, at which point, Cousins would be officially released.
Lakers’ DeMarcus Cousins Envisions Return For Playoffs
Lakers center DeMarcus Cousins has been sidelined since August but he’s hoping to return for the NBA title run.
DeMarcus Cousins has not yet stepped on the court as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers as he recovers from a torn ACL in his left knee, but he is progressing toward a return to action and what better time than during the NBA playoffs? In his appearance on the “All the Smoke” podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Cousins envisioned the possibility of joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis as the Lakers make a run at the NBA title.
Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty Images
In discussing his potential debut with the Lakers during the playoffs, Boogie describes:
“We got a big team. It’s going to be some bump, for sure. We got so many guys with different abilities. I mean, I can spot up. Bron [LeBron James] is going to draw everybody whenever he decides to move. I’m pretty confident I can knock down the shot. We got shooters all over the floor. I mean, I can playmake. Like, it’s pick your poison.”
Cousins, 29, averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 30 regular season games for the Golden State Warriors a season ago and signed with the Lakers as a free agent over the summer. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL during an August pickup game and has been sidelined ever since.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel insists the two-time All Star is “a long way away” from making his Lakers debut, but the team is still leaving the door open for his return as the post-season approaches. Check out some clips from Cousins’ appearance on the “All the Smoke” podcast below.
