She has a No. 1 charting song with Beyoncé and has quickly become a woman in the rap game who is a force to be reckoned with, but Megan Thee Stallion isn't letting a little fame and fortune deter her from her higher education goals. The Houston native has had quite a year as she's celebrated the release of a new project and collaborated with some of the hottest artists in the game as she also mourned the death of her mother. While she does bring in a bit of controversy from naysayers, the rapper is determined to be a motivational voice for young people looking to pursue their dreams.

Aside from being a sought after artist, Megan Thee Stallion is also finishing up her college degree. She's actively pursuing her bachelor's degree in health administration from Texas Southern University, recently sharing that she hopes to not only open a care facility for people in need, but she wants to employ her classmates, as well.
On Friday, the 25-year-old dropped off a bit of advice for the masses, which seems to be inspired by the times we're living in. "Although school is not for everyone do not let people discourage you from pursuing a higher education," she tweeted. "We need the upcoming generation with better mindsets to become our next lawyers, judges, doctors, etc. We need GOOD people with real morals and values in high places." Check out her tweet below.
Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine Reveal Plan To Build Free High School
Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are coming through with some much needed good news.
Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are two of the biggest legends in the music industry and over the last few decades, they have teamed up to use their profiles for good. During a recent interview with GQ, both men shared details of a plan to build a brand new free high school near USC in California.
As Iovine explained, this high school will help give kids a much better education that will be tailored to their specific interests.
“We’re starting it right outside of USC,” Iovine shared. “It’s for that neighborhood and it’s going to be free. We’re doing it with Laurene Powell Jobs and XQ and USC…We want to give underrepresented kids an edge…A lot of kids today think it’s not really necessary.”
Dr. Dre went on to say that he kind of hated school as a kid because there was nothing that interested him. With this new school, Dre is hoping to provide kids with a whole new creative outlet. “There was nothing there that I really wanted to learn. In Compton at my particular high school, there was nothing available. This thing that we’re building has everything that I needed,” he said.
With everything going on in the world right now, this was certainly some much-needed good news and we can’t wait to see the plans come to fruition.

Lil Baby Inspires Joe Budden To Receive His GED
Lil Baby shared with Joe Budden that he received his GED, and Budden said it may be time to get his, as well.
There was much discussed when Lil Baby visited Joe Budden for the music commentator's Pull Up series, but a noteworthy moment is when the Atlanta rapper revealed that he'd received his GED to help him get a shorter sentence before he went to prison. Lil Baby shared that he paid the fee to take the test and he passed his first time around. Then, Budden stated that he doesn't have his GED and shared that he dropped out of school in the ninth grade.
"I might take it one day," said Budden. "I might want to go to college one day... I dropped out of high school in the ninth grade, right. At the time, they said you can go to summer school and make some sh*t up. I dropped out of the summer school and they was like, alright, you can go to [vocational school] and get your GED."
Budden said he tried that out, as well, but decided to drop out once again. "Then, I was just on some trying to rap sh*t." Budden added, "I think I'm gonna do that. You inspired me." The podcast host did have a few reservations because it's been a while since he had to sit down and take a test such as this. Check out the clip of the exchange between Joe Budden and Lil Baby below.

“I’m here today because one of your teachers sent me a tweet on my Twitter and she said that there wasn’t enough iPads, just enough to go around,” RZA told the students, according to SI Live. “I reached out to my Wu-Tang brothers and Apple, and we have some iPads here going to the school and going to your classes so you guys have a better chance for a proper education.”
RZA answered questions from the students and explained the importance of education.
He added on Instagram with a post of the students captioned, “I would like to thank the #Children’s Literary Society #CLS and P.S. 78 for instilling positivity into the youth.”
Principal Jodi Contento thanked RZA for his charitable act: “I really want to emphasize that any time somebody who has roots in the community comes back to share their successes, that’s the most priceless thing we could have for our school,” Contento said. “It’s all about bringing in the positive role models. We know how much is out there that is not always positive for us to see. Having those positive models and success stories are tremendous.”
YK Osiris Tells Students Their Favorite Rappers "Don’t Even Know How To Spell"
“All your favorite rappers, they be dumb as f*ck.” YK Osiris preaches the importance of education to a room full of high school students.
YK Osiris might be the self-proclaimed king of R&B but he’s taking a page from Kanye and trying to lead the people in the right direction. This time, it occurred during a recent visit to Ribault High School and Raines High School in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL. The singer spoke to students in an auditorium and then in his classroom. A snippet of one of his speeches surfaced online and exposed the alleged low IQs of members in the rap community.
“All your favorite rappers, they be dumb as fuck. They can’t hold a conversation for an hour. They don’t even know how to spell,” he stated. “I swear to God, my right hand on the bible.”
The Internet was quick to roast YK Osiris for passing judgment on his peers in the rap game. One person on Twitter quickly pointed out that it seemed like he looked at his right hand to make sure that it was his right hand. However, there were others that agreed with what he had to say to the students. And in all fairness, he didn’t actually point out an individual in particular.
His recent appearance at the high schools seem to be part of some giving back initiative. He previously shared a video of himself praying with homeless people while sharing his wealth, so to speak. However, all of this conveniently came after he was arrested for allegedly beating and biting his girlfriend which he’s denied.
