A Sarasota, Florida police officer has been put on leave by his superiors after a video surfaced showing him exercising excessive force on a citizen. Last week, 46-year-old George Floyd was killed as former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on the back of his neck. Floyd pleaded for his life, cried out for his mother, and repeatedly said he couldn't breathe. Witnesses begged Chauvin to move his knee over while three other officers held Floyd's body down or were complicit and didn't say anything as Floyd suffocated for nearly nine minutes.

On Monday, a white officer who wasn't identified was shown in a recently released video arresting a 27-year-old black man named Patrick Carroll. The Sarasota Police Department shared details of the arrest, stating the Carroll was being detained after allegedly violently assaulting a woman. According to USA Today, Carroll "was later charged with felony possession of ammunition by a convicted felon."
After Sarasota Police Chief Bernadette DiPino was shown the clip of the arrest and the officer kneeling on the back of Carroll's neck, the unidentified officer was reportedly put on leave. “Chief DiPino was disturbed to see an officer kneeling on the head and neck of an individual in the video,” SPD said in a statement. “While it appears the officer eventually moves his leg to the individual’s back, this tactic is not taught, used or advocated by our agency.”
The person filming told the arresting officers, “You got your knee on my man’s neck, man, on his neck, bro.” At the time of his arrest, police reportedly stated Carroll didn't complain of any injuries and didn't require medical attention. However, in a recent interview, Carroll stated that he was pushed to the ground while asking why he was being detained and suffers from asthma and scoliosis. Watch below.
Body Cam Footage Shows Florida Cop Arresting 6-Year Old Girl Crying For Help
In a shocking viral clip, a Florida cop can be seen arresting a 6-year old girl at her school.
Earlier this week, a video went viral after some body cam footage was released showing police in Florida arresting a six-year-old girl at school who was crying for help. The incident happened back in September of last year when police officer Dennis Turner was called to a charter school in Orlando, after a kid had allegedly “battered three staff members by kicking and punching them”.
An attorney representing the child’s family shared the disheartening clip this week, which shows the child being restrained by zip ties and crying out for help as she was being arrested. “Please let me go,” the child is heard pleading with the officers. At one point, Orlando Police Department officer Dennis Turner is heard saying that handcuffs would have been used if the child were bigger.
The video shows that after the child was put in the back of the police car, Turner went back inside the school, where at least one employee is seen wiping away tears. “Are the restraints, are they necessary?” another visibly upset school employee asks.
“On behalf of myself and the entire Orlando Police Department, I apologize to the children involved and their families,” Orlando police chief Orlando Rolon said back in September. “As a grandfather of three children less than 11 years old, I can only imagine how traumatic this was for everyone involved.”
The arresting officer, who was reportedly involved in another arrest of a student, was eventually fired for his despicable actions. Check it all out (below) and sound off in the comments.
Antonio Brown Surrenders To Police, Remains In Custody: Report
He faces a number of charges.
The chaos surrounding Antonio Brown’s personal and professional life continues as the former NFL star has now reportedly surrendered to police. It was reported earlier this week that Brown was facing battery and burglary charges stemming from an incident involving a moving truck driver who was hired to transport Brown’s items from one of the football player’s homes to another.

According to reports, Brown refused to pay the $4,000 fee and got into a verbal altercation with the driver. When the driver attempted to leave, Brown allegedly picked up a rock and threw it at the truck, damaging the vehicle, before taking the driver’s keys out of the ignition. The driver called the police and accused the football player of being under the influence of drugs as Brown allegedly assaulted the driver before damaging items in the truck. An arrest warrant was later issued, but authorities were having trouble getting into contact with Brown because he reportedly locked himself inside of his home.
On Thursday (January 23), TMZ reported that Brown made his way to a Florida jail to surrender himself over to authorities. “Cops say Brown will be facing charges of burglary with battery and burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, as well as one count of criminal mischief,” the publication claims. “He’s expected to be held in custody until he faces a judge at a bond hearing Friday morning.”
