Though he passed away in 1999, Big L‘s legacy endures through his loyal fanbase. And while said fans have been continuously championing for the fallen rapper, there are many who remain unfamiliar with Big L’s story. Now, that’s about to change thanks to the arrival of Foul Child: The Legend Of Big L, an upcoming documentary from Certified Classics and Mass Appeal.

The documentary is set to be released in tandem with the twenty-fifth anniversary of his classic debut album Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, originally released in 1995 and featuring verses from Jay-Z, Lord Finesse and more. Speaking on the doc’s arrival, Mass Appeal CEO Peter Bittenbender offered a few words by way of a press release:
“We hope that this short documentary inspires the creation of a larger, full-length piece to tell more of his incredible story,” he explains. “Although just a small piece of the puzzle, we’re proud to unleash something for L’s fans to give a unique glimpse into his legacy surrounding the 25th anniversary of Big L’s landmark debut album, Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous!”
Check out the full trailer below, which features unreleased footage, interviews from the RZA, Dave East, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Twelvyy, Peter Rosenberg, and more.
