Earlier today, it was reported that Cactus Jack signee Sheck Wes, most known for his breakout single "Mo Bamba," was arrested in New York. Upon conducting a routine traffic stop, TMZ claimed that police discovered an undisclosed amount of marijuana as well as a loaded 9mm handgun. Though the charges were said to be felony level, Sheck's attorney later confirmed that the rapper had been released from custody, with his case being delayed to August.

And while Sheck himself hasn't exactly provided thorough commentary on the whole debacle, at least in an official capacity, he did take to social media to provide a status update of sorts. Sharing a picture of himself masked up in the streets of New York, Sheck seemed bamboozled by the narrative of his arrest. "The Scouts not locked up wtf," he writes, putting an end to any misconceptions that might have occurred.
While it's likely that this may develop further in August, provided the charges actually end up sticking, it would appear that Sheck isn't exactly fazed in the slightest. Out of sight out of mind, as they say. Check out Sheck's update below, and keep an eye out for more news on the man's upcoming music -- last we saw, Sheck was holding it down alongside Travis Scott, Don Tolliver, Luxury Tax and Chase B as the JACKBOYS.
Los Angeles To Offer Free COVID-19 Tests To All Residents
Los Angeles became the first major city in the United States to offer free coronavirus tests to all residents, even those not experiencing symptoms.
Los Angeles is officially the first major city in the United States to offer free coronavirus tests to all of its residents, even those who have not experienced any symptoms. Major of Los Angeles County, Eric Garcetti, made the announcement on Wednesday during his daily briefing. "Tonight, I am proud to announce that Los Angeles will become the first major city in America to offer wide scale testing to all of its residents, with or without symptoms," he stated. Prior to this change, all 34 drive-thru sites around L.A. had restricted testing only to individuals who had experienced symptoms—fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath—or essential front-line workers, like grocery store employees and rideshare drivers, who had not yet experienced symptoms.

While testing at these sites will now be available to any and all residents, these essential front-line workers and those experiencing symptoms will still be given priority.
However, it's worth nothing that these sites, which have conducted 140,000 tests total over the past month, can now conduct up to 18,000 tests a day. "We have the capacity," Garcetti said. "So don't wait, don't wonder and don't risk infecting others." Folks can sign up here for same-day testing, or they can schedule to be tested the following day.
NLE Choppa Thinks YNW Melly Should Be Free Instead Of 6ix9ine
NLE Choppa takes issue with YNW Melly's request for early prison release getting denied, while "the rat", Tekashi 6ix9ine, gets to roam free.
NLE Choppa has decided to chime in on the coronavirus prison release discourse in regards to famous rappers: if you're going to free Tekashi 6ix9ine, you've got to free YNW Melly as well. The spread of coronavirus has led many prison inmates to request early release or alternate accommodations to lower their chances of contraction, including many incarcerated celebrities. Bill Cosby and R. Kelly are among some of the scorned stars that have been denied early release, along with Florida rapper, YNW Melly.

As he awaits his double murder trial for allegedly killing two of his friends, Melly has been kept behind bars, where it was reported he recently tested positive for coronavirus. He requested to be released due to these unforeseen circumstances, but was told to stay put. His condition has reportedly not improved much at all, as he has only been "treated" with Tylenol and Gatorade. He even reached out to his past collaborator, Kanye West, for help Twitter, but so far has received no response. It looks like NLE Choppa caught wind of this whole situation, and expressed just how he feels about YNW Melly remaining in prison while another rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine, was granted early release.
"They need to free Melly trifling ass shit," Choppa tweeted on Friday. "But y’all gone free the rat." The "rat," of course, refers to 6ix9ine, due to all the snitching he did on members of the Nine Trey Bloods in court. 6ix9ine was recently transferred to house arrest due to coronavirus concerns after spending time in prison on racketeering charges, a move that caused a major uproar in the hip hop scene.
How do you feel about Choppa's stance?

Burger King To Offer Free Kids Meals Amid School Closures
Burger King will offering free kids meals to families who rely on school lunches to feed their children, as schools shut down nationwide in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Burger King is taking one of the concerning side effects of the coronavirus pandemic into its own hands, by offering free kids meals to children who will not be able to receive their school-provided lunches anymore after the spread of COVID-19 forced many school districts to close down. As coronavirus continues to spread worldwide, it's important to avoid large crowds and practice social distancing. Many institutions including schools have closed in order to contain the virus and prevent further infection, and while that may be a crucial health and safety measure, it poses a problem for tons of families who depend on schools to provide lunches for their children. Plenty of celebrities like Steph and Ayesha Curry as well as Ciara and Russell Wilson have donated to local food banks and other organizations to help prevent kids from going hungry, and now, Burger King is doing their part, too. Starting next week for as long as supplies last, the fast food chain will be offering two free kids meals with every adult meal purchase made through online orders.

“There’s a tremendous impact on children, as a result of all the school closures,” Jose Cil, CEO of Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons parent company Restaurant Brands International, told Business Insider. “It’s one of the hardest-hit groups of Americans, because they rely so significantly on school, for lunch...Monday through Friday, for the better part of the year.” Now that the fast food chain is heavily encouraging "minimum contact methods like drive-thrus, pick-up or delivery," the online factor of the offer makes perfect sense.
“We have the ability to help feed America,” Cil said. “The challenge here is that when you’re dealing with a circumstance like this, if we don’t utilize businesses like Burger King, Tim’s and Popeyes … It’s really difficult for Americans to be fed, because it’s going to be difficult for them to get all their other food and necessities from the supermarket.”

City Girls’ JT Released From Federal Custody
JT of the City Girls no longer has to stay in a halfway house!
City Girls fan celebrated when it was announced back in October that JT had been released from prison, after serving a little over twelve months for credit card fraud. However, there was another step in the process towards JT being freed from custody. Until this past Saturday (Mar. 7), the Miami rapper was forced to stay in the RRM Atlanta halfway house.
Hours after her release from federal custody, the 27-year-old took to Twitter to express her gratitude for being able to enjoy the simple privilege of her own bed. She posted a screenshot of her camera roll, which showed a bunch of selfies in which she looks delighted to be snuggled up on a comfy mattress. "Woke up in my own bed for the first time in 2 years! Happppppyyyyy," she wrote.
While JT gets to enjoy the comfort of her own home, according to legal documents read by TMZ, she will still be on probation for a year. The terms of her supervised release reportedly require her to perform 200 hours of community service.
The same day as JT was released from prison, she dropped a "First Day Out" track, as customary in hip hop. While JT has apparently been going hard working on new music, City Girls haven't put out much recently. They shared "You Tried It" back in November. Now that JT has more freedom, the duo will likely kick things into high gear.
Canadian Hotel Offering Free Stay If Couples Make A Baby Over Valentines Day
If you’re in the Vancouver area and are trying to make a baby, then this is for you.
One Canadian hotel is looking to reward some couples who knock the boots inside their resort. According to reports, the Zed hotel is offering a free nights stay for any couple that conceives a baby over their Valentines Day promo.
For the past five years, the hotel has ran a promotion for couples looking to have a quickie on Valentine’s Day. For just $59 CAD, couples can book a room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at one of their locations in Victoria and Kelowna. However, this year they’re taking things to the next level.
If a couple happens to welcome a baby into their lives in the nine months after participating in their Valentine’s Day promo, then the couple will get free lodging at the Hotel Zed location of their choice for the next 18 years.
“I don’t think we’re going to convince someone who’s not thinking about having a baby to have a baby. But if you’re serious about expanding your family, why wouldn’t you try?” Hotel Zed CEO Mandy Farmer said to CNN. “If you succeed, you’ll win a way to celebrate your baby’s conception for the next 18 years.”
The hotel has since received criticism through letters and comments on social media calling it shameful and disgusting, but they’re still running with the promo anyways.
