Gilbert Arenas has always been one of the funniest players in the history of the NBA as he truly has no filter. Arenas has no problem speaking up and giving his opinion even if it might offend a lot of people. Of course, Arenas was a pretty great scorer during his time in the league although incidents such as the gun in the locker room ultimately dampened some of the hype surrounding his accomplishments.
Regardless, Arenas is now in the podcast game and is always trying to connect with his fans on what he experienced during his time in the NBA. For instance, Arenas recently did a AMA where he was asked who the toughest person to score on was. Instead of naming a player, Arenas got sarcastic and mentioned the referees, including on in particular.
“[The] referees [were the hardest to score on],” Arenas wrote. “Joey Crawford was the hardest to score on. [T]hat muthaf* had some great defense.”
Referees have been notoriously stingy in the NBA over the years and when you consider Arenas' aggressive style, it's not surprising that he felt like the refs were keeping him from achieving his true potential out on the court.
We're sure there are various other players in the league who feel the exact same way.

“This caption is not about good deed but about a struggling man’s sacrifice and belief,” Arenas begins the story. He explains that a homeless man asked him for money, but after learning he only had $10 left to spend on gas, the man told Arenas to keep it. He said, “keep the $10 and after u win, hook me up with $20,” referring to lottery ticket Arenas planned to purchase.
The next day, the former NBA player received a text telling him he won. Arenas says he paid the homeless man an undisclosed amount of money afterward.

Gilbert Arenas Explains How He Had Sex With Nick Young’s "Thots"
Gilbert Arenas was just being a good teammate to Nick Young
Gilbert Arenas is known around the NBA as one of the funniest and most eccentric characters the league has ever seen, especially when it comes to his antics. Arenas is very honest with his fans and isn’t ashamed to admit some of the things he has done throughout his career, even if it involved the heartbreak of a fellow teammate.
In a recent interview with SLAM, Arenas was asked about some of his extra-curricular exploits in the NBA and as he explained, some of those exploits involved the women Nick Young was sleeping with. Swaggy P has been known as a bit of a womanizer but as Arenas so eloquently describes, Young used to fall in love with women quickly. To make sure Young didn’t fall into any traps, Arenas would have sex with the same women as Young, just to let the young player know that the women in question weren’t girlfriend material.
“Anytime he tried to fall in love with a thot I’d have sex with her just to let him know,” Arenas said. While this tactic may seem a little bit over the line, it doesn’t seem like Young had too many issues with it. After all, his teammate was simply saving him from an unsavory situation.
Needless to say, Arenas used to go above and beyond for his teammates.
John Wall’s Favorite Kobe Bryant Story Includes Gilbert Arenas’ Antics
John Wall recounted the story of when he played against Kobe Bryant for the first time.
John Wall has had a pretty interesting career in the NBA thus far and having said that, it shouldn’t be surprising that he has plenty of stories to tell. Recently, the Washington Wizards star went on the “All The Smoke” podcast with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, where he talked about a plethora of topics, including his eventual return to action.
At one point in the interview, Wall was asked if he had any interesting stories about Kobe Bryant. As Wall described, his favorite Kobe moment was during his rookie season when he played against the Lakers legend for the very first time. Gilbert Arenas was Wall’s teammate at the time and made sure to bring his usual dose of antics.
“My favorite Kobe story was my rookie year,” Wall said. “We were going to play them in L.A. You know how’re like ‘there’s no way I’m about to play the Bean, like there’s no way I’m about to play Kobe.’ And I’ve got Gil on my team and Gil comes out there wearing Dolce and Gabbanas. No shoe strings, straps. Shoes, high-tops. So, I’m gonna play Kobe with a guy like Gil that doesn’t care about nothing.”
Arenas is known for his antics which only helps to enhance Wall’s story. We’re sure it’s a moment he will remember for the rest of his life.

As a result, Arenas will be now coaching a local U14 team in Southern California.

You told me to use my bright basketball mind on some form of coaching on an nba/college bench or coaching kids?? stop wasting it being an idiot on social media….Today I’m starting my coaching career with @socalcavs 14u “the legacy of an assassins mind will live on”#mambamentality

Gilbert Arenas Pens IG Novel Over The KD & Kendrick Perkins Feud
Arenas had a lot to get off his chest.
Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Durant got into a pretty heated argument on Twitter last night as Russell Westbrook made his return to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Perkins was upset at how KD left the Thunder and even stated that Westbrook was the best player in the history of the franchise. KD felt some type of way about his and immediately gave Perkins a piece of his mind. Perkins went on to say that Durant was a coward for going to the Golden State Warriors.
Gilbert Arenas didn’t take too kindly to Perkins’ take and took it upon himself to hop on Instagram this morning. Arenas wrote a lengthy post about how Durant’s move to Golden State was warranted. It’s clear that Arenas is taking KD’s side here, although he made sure to say he usually agrees with Perkins on 99 percent of his takes.
Per Arenas:
“Only two teams that can give him those two boxes [a title and Finals MVP] were Golden State and Cavs, who were the champs. Being the champs, Cavs weren’t making a move. Actually like me say this better. Cavs being cheap asses wasn’t gonna sign KD (Dan Gilbert bought that team in 2005) the biggest outside free agent they have signed was Larry Hughes in 2005. That was 15 years ago. Contracts have doubled since then and that’s still the biggest outside free agent signing. So the only team that’s left was Golden State.”
This is a debate that won’t be dying down anytime soon although it’s interesting to see Arenas come through with an opinion we haven’t heard voiced before. If KD can win a title with Brooklyn, this whole conversation will finally be put to bed.
LeBron James Wishes Gilbert Arenas Happy B-Day With Nostalgic Pics
James is bringing it back to the late 2000s.
LeBron James and Gilbert Arenas were good friends in the NBA back in the day despite being rivals on the court. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards had some spirited playoff matchups back in the day but that never stopped the two from having mutual respect for one another. Today, Arenas celebrated a huge milestone as he turned 38 years old. He may not be in the league anymore but LeBron certainly hasn’t forgotten about his good buddy.
Earlier today, James took to Instagram where he wished Arenas a happy birthday while also posting some throwback photos of the two. As you can see, these pictures were taken during LeBron’s first stint with the Cavaliers. In one of the photos, you even see Arenas with the ancient video recorder.
“Happy GDay to a ABSOLUTE KILLER on the court,(one of the best I’ve played against)to my guy Hibachi!!! @no.chill.gil Enjoy your day my brother!! All love Gil!” LeBron wrote in his caption.
Arenas has had a pretty entertaining career off the court. The former Wizards star can be seen ranting and raving on his podcast where he comes through with some pretty incredible stories. Arenas is an interesting guy and his conversations are always fun to listen to. Perhaps we could see LeBron on his podcast when he decides to call it a career.
