The Lightning in a Bottle Lineup Is Finally Out & It’s One of the Year’s Best

Lightning in a Bottle, North America’s premier independent music and arts festival, today revealed the lineup for its 2020 event as it prepares to return to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California for the second year, this time over Memorial Day Weekend, May 20-25. And boy is this year’s lineup something!!


Since the early 2000s, the Do LaB has fostered a boutique experience that has gone on to inspire a global movement within the larger festival community. Lightning in a Bottle stands as a destination for musical artists looking to perform within creative stage environments in front of one of the scene’s most engaged and dedicated crowds. The 2020 LIB lineup continues this ethos by including an eclectic pluralism of acts that extend across the live and electronic spectrums.

This year will feature performances from Kaytranada, Sylvan Esso, GRiZ, Purity Ring, Four Tet, Jon Hopkins, James Blake, Amon Tobin, DJ Shadow, Noisia, EPROM, Nina Kraviz, Bob Moses, Justin Martin, and way, way more. After a three year hiatus, LIB favorite the Lucent Dossier Experience also returns to captivate with its avant-garde and mesmerizing cirque-style theatrics. Calling it this year’s strong EDM festival so far isn’t a tough stretch.

GRiZ & Dillon Francis Tease Potential Collab & Fans Are Freaking Out

GRiZ and Dillon Francis make for the collaboration we didn’t know we needed until now!


Of course, when any two DJs strike up a conversation on social media, our minds immediately jump to collab. This instance below seems especially promising, however, considering both parties are onboard from the get-go.

“got a new joiiiiiint for u,” GRiZ said @ Dillon.

“GIMMEIEKEIENSHSKSJSJ,” he responded enthusiastically.

Dillon is soon to embark on his Sugar, Spice and Everything Ice Tour with Yung Gravy. Meanwhile, GRiZ is wrapping up his own run of tour dates, including Coachella and Lollapalooza Paris. Hopefully they find the time to make this happen sooner than later — because fans are beyond ready.

GRiZ Gets Honest About Being Groped by Fans, Hammers On Need for Consent

GRiZ has a very important PSA — please, do not touch.


It’s 2020 and we thought everyone would have got the memo by now — it’s most definitely not cool or ok on any level to touch someone’s butt or grab at them without consent. Unfortunately GRiZ, like so many other artists, has experienced this firsthand when meeting fans and posing for photo ops.

He writes in the Twitter thread below, “do not grab my butt or grope me when taking a picture w me or if you see me in public. No it’s never ok and no it’s not cute or funny. It makes me feel horribly uncomfortable.”

“Also should be read …” he continues, “do not grab ANY butt or grope ANYONE ever without their consent .. bc this is really a bigger prob than me.”

As the DJ/producer adds, 99% of people haven’t groped or grabbed his butt and that’s the way it should be. This message is for the other 1%.

We’re not sure who needs to hear this, but listen up and remember: consent is sexy.
