Kodak Black's lawyer is getting back to work, this time preparing a lawsuit against the parties responsible for distributing a photo of the rapper in handcuffs from his arrest last year.
The rapper, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, was arrested on the day he was supposed to perform at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. Confirming his arrest, a photo started circulating across the internet of Kodak Black in handcuffs, smiling after being taken into police custody. The photo has irked the artist for a minute and now, it looks like he's taking action against the federal officer who snapped it.
According to a new report, which includes documents from Kodak's lawyer Bradford Cohen, a Miami-Dade cop was instructed to take the photo of Black while he was in custody. However, the shot, which was taken without his permission, was seemingly instructed by a high-ranking official despite there being no law enforcement reason to take it.
Cohen claims that the picture, which ended up in the hands of a local newspaper, was taken for personal gain and not for any legitimate reason.
Legal action is being taken against the U.S. Marshals Service. Kodak Black is currently set to be released from prison in 2022.
Dave East Responds After Being Placed In Handcuffs
Dave East was spotted in handcuffs last night in New York, and he has since responded by calling out the NYPD.
Last night, a video was circulating online showing rapper Dave East being placed in handcuffs by the police. The reason for his detainment has been confirmed as a report claims he received a citation for marijuana possession and disorderly conduct.
According to NBC New York, the rapper, whose real name is David Brewster, was in the backseat of a vehicle that was pulled over after the driver reportedly failed to signal a turn. The driver was reportedly compliant with the police and did not receive a ticket but Dave East is said to have been combative. The officers found half a dozen bags of marijuana in the car, bringing East and another passenger to the precinct where they were both issued two summons.

In the video, which was posted to Dave East’s page, several witnesses can be heard screaming that the officers were harassing the rapper. Following his release from custody, East clapped back with his own message.
“REST IN PARADISE SHOOTER SHIT DONT STOP FUCC NYPD TILL I SEE U AGAIN,” he wrote.
Thankfully, things did not escalate past the two citations. Watch the video below and send some love to Dave East, who just went through it last night.
Chief Keef Handcuffed & Reportedly Arrested In Mexico
Chief Keef was put into handcuffs last night in what people are saying was in Mexico.
It looks like Chief Keef had a run in with the law last night down in Mexico. On Saturday morning, footage surfaced online showing Sosa being put into handcuffs in what people are saying was down in Mexico, although the location hasn’t been confirmed.
Unfortunately there’s no information as for what happened or if he’s still in custody, but it definitely looks to be the Glo Gang rapper who was put in handcuffs. DJ Akademiks shared the clip on his IG page Saturday morning, also reporting it happened in Mexico, but don’t ask me what Sosa was doing south of the border during a national pandemic like now.
Check out the clip of Sosa getting handcuffed (below) and we’ll continue keep you posted once more info comes to light.
This report comes just a week after Sosa was featured on Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake album as a producer, and then again as an artist on Luv Vs The World 2 yesterday. Hear his song “Bean (Kobe)” with Uzi right here if you missed it.
