It was one of the biggest moments in hip-hop this year and, whether you view his return as a positive or a negative thing, Tekashi 6ix9ine officially came back last week. Releasing his return single and video for "GOOBA," the Brooklyn star hopped on Instagram Live and explained why he snitched, apologizing to all of his fans and taunting some of his fellow rappers, including Meek Mill. Unfortunately for Meek, it looks like there are signs that the two may need to play nice in the future because 69 might have a possible Roc Nation connection.
In the "GOOBA" music video, which now has over 93 million views, eagle-eyed fans noticed a Roc Nation logo on a baseball cap, which was only present for a split moment in the corner. The black and white paper airplane logo could be seen on an unidentified assistant in the video. While this does not confirm a connection between Jay-Z and Tekashi 6ix9ine, many are surprised to see Roc Nation being subtly represented and they have suggested that 6ix9ine possibly signed a management deal with the label.
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. In fact, this may just have been blown out of proportion. The dude could be rocking a replica version of the hat, or has worked with Roc Nation in the past. Who knows?
Social media is running wild with this story though so, take it as you will.
Meek Mill Unveils New Lids Hat Colorway Dropping This Weekend
The Royal Blue Dreamchasers hat drops tomorrow on Lids.
Meek Mill has decided to release another round of his DreamChasers hat with Lids. After dropping the red fitted back in November, Meek is coming through with a new colorway for this weekend’s release, and that being the royal blue. However, unlike the red hat, this blue colorway will come in both 59Fifty (fitted) and 9Fifty (snapback) models.
“My fans have been asking for more Lids colorways and options outside of snapbacks,” said the Philly rapper. “I’ve been listening to the feedback and I’m glad we can bring the royal blue hat line to the masses – both as a snapback and a fitted. We want to take the headwear game to the next level.”
Like the first collaboration, a percentage of proceeds will be donated to the REFORM Alliance, an initiative committed to advancing criminal justice reform and tackling the injustices that plague the United States. The initiative was set-up by Meek, who serves as the co-chairman along with his partners JAY-Z, Michael Rubin, Robert Kraft, and others.
“Having my own line with LIDS is special, but I’m especially proud that proceeds from this hat will be used to help fix the broken criminal justice system,” Meek said last year. “I’m grateful that our team at LIDS was committed to making a hat that’s stylish, but will go toward a greater cause.”
Check out the blue colorway hat (below) and cop it tomorrow (2.29.20) at Lids.
