Karl-Anthony Towns revealed to the world that his family had been struck with the coronavirus, noting that both of his parents had contracted the deadly illness. The basketball star's father, Karl Sr., has since recovered from COVID-19 but KAT's mother Jacqueline Cruz is still fighting for her life. According to John Calipari, the head coach of the University of Kentucky men's team, where Towns played college ball, the athlete's mother remains in critical condition.
"Ms. Jackie, Karl-Anthony Towns’ mother, is still in that hospital fighting. She’s there," said Calipari during a live-stream on Facebook this week. "We get updates, every single day we get an update from Karl Sr. about how she’s doing from the nurses at the ICU. Keep praying for her, send her unbelievably positive thoughts. I can’t wait until she gets out of that hospital. It’s been a tough road."

From his wording, it would appear as though Calipari and Towns believe she will make a full recovery.
Karl-Anthony posted a video on his Instagram page several weeks ago, detailing the severity of the coronavirus and how it affected his family so severely.
"WE CAN BEAT THIS, BUT THIS IS SERIOUS AND WE NEED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION," wrote the forward.
Continue praying for Ms. Jackie!

She’s doing just fine.
Anything can happen while filming a VH1 reality show. There have been all-out brawls displayed over the years involving dozens for cast members from various series, but Love & Hip Hop has developed a reputation as having a few of the worst altercations. The network’s Love & Hip Hop drama helps bring in viewers, but often a few bumps and bruises are the result.
Rob Kim / Stringer / Getty ImagesOn Wednesday (January 22), news circulated that Love & Hip Hop Atlanta‘s Karlie Redd was involved in a violent altercation that resulted in a hospital visit. According to AllHipHop, the incident occurred at an Atlanta nightclub and involved other Love & Hip Hop cast members. The report stated that her injuries were severe enough to land her in the Intensive Care Unit.
The reality star and sex therapist took to her Instagram to shut down the rumors about this alleged fight. “Alert ? Fake News!” Karlie wrote. “I should NOT have to Address All these Fake News But My Phone is Ringing Off the Hook! I have NEVER Been in A Hospital for Fighting & No Club For Fighting! Why Can’t The Media Talk about The Good things I’m doing Like Helping These Kids At The School. Y’all Have Nothing Else to Do But Believe These LIES!”
Karlie used the opportunity to highlight The Alphabet House school while encouraging people to give back to the community. Check it out below.
Karlie Redd Rushed To ICU Following Brutal "Love & Hip-Hop" Fight: Report
Karlie Redd was reportedly beaten so badly that she was sent to the ICU.
Reality star Karlie Redd is always caught up in some crazy drama that is usually partly scripted for Love & Hip Hop. We’ve seen her name attached to some crazy headlines, including some stories about shit-stained sheets, sex toy lines, and much more. This past week, the rumor mill has been swirling and, apparently, Karlie up and got herself in a major fight inside of an Atlanta nightclub. She was reportedly injured so badly during the brawl that she was forced to the hospital, where she was later admitted to the ICU.
Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesAccording to an unconfirmed report by AllHipHop, Karlie Redd has been released from the hospital after being involved in a violent altercation at a party. It is not clear how many people jumped the star or if she had provoked her attackers. However, Redd appears to be alright and is reportedly recovering from the trauma.
Social media has been reacting to the gossip news all week, wondering amongst themselves who could have been responsible for sending her to the intensive care unit. Clearly, her injuries must have been bad if she was deemed an appropriate patient for the ICU. It is also currently unknown whether or not cameras were rolling during the fight so, if we’re lucky, this might make it to TV next season.
Get well soon, Karlie.
