Kevin Durant injury Status Updated Amid NBA Coronavirus Shutdown
Some fans think Kevin Durant could be back for the playoffs if the season extends into August.
Kevin Durant has been out of NBA action since the NBA Finals of last season. For those who remember, Durant suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and now, he is rehabbing so that he can get back into the Brooklyn Nets lineup, next season. Many fans around the NBA got a glimmer of hope in relation to Durant’s return in light of the fact that the season has been put on hold. There are talks that the NBA Finals could be played in August this year which would mean Durant would theoretically be good to go.
The speculation led ESPN to reach out to his manager, Rich Kleiman. Kleiman was very diplomatic in his answer noting that the Nets prepared to play without Durant this season and that nothing has changed, in that regard. If you’re a Nets fan, this isn’t great news but at least you’ll have him back soon.

“It feels like (Durant playing in the 2019-20 season) clearly was not something that was in the cards prior to all this,” Kleiman said. “And now, I think just like the rest of the world, it’s hard to take anything more than day by day. I think that Kevin is going to figure out the space that he needs to be in to continue to rehab during this time. But even that is hard to answer at this point, with the new kind of rules that were put in place last night.”
Stay tuned for updates on this situation as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Kevin Durant Helps Reassure Fan Going Through Achilles Surgery
Kevin Durant has been through quite a few injuries, himself.
Kevin Durant suffered the worst injury of his career during the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. Of course, we're talking about the time he injured his Achilles. Since the injury, Durant has yet to get back onto an NBA court. He has been rehabbing and playing 3-on-3 with his Brooklyn Nets teammates. As a professional athlete who has been through injuries, Durant knows what it's like to go through surgery and to be anxious prior to the process.
Recently, a radio host in Denver took to Twitter where he reached out to Kevin Durant about his own Achilles reconstruction surgery. The host was feeling squeamish about the pain he might feel and was wondering if KD had some insight. Surprisingly, KD replied to the man and even gave him some much-need reassurance.
The interaction was pretty wholesome which is definitely a departure for Durant on Twitter. Typically, KD resorts to defending himself against haters and detractors. This time around, KD actually had some poignant advice for a fellow man in need and we can't help but give some props here.
As for Durant, his Achilles injury seems to be healing nicely and now, there is talk that he could play at the Olympics this summer.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Suffers Injury, Recovery Timetable Revealed
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a dominant force on the court this season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the backbone of the Milwaukee Bucks for what seems like the better part of a decade. The Greek Freak is now an MVP winner and as of last week, many were saying he was on track to win it again. On Friday, some pundits changed their tune as Giannis and the Bucks lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, who could very well be their opponent in the NBA Finals. Yesterday, it was reported that Giannis actually suffered an injury in that game and will now have to miss a couple of games.
According to Chris Mannix, Giannis was diagnosed with a minor sprain in his right knee. In fact, the reigning MVP had to miss last night's game against the Phoenix Suns, which the Bucks actually lost. Giannis will also miss tonight's game against the Denver Nuggets before being re-evaluated ahead of the team's home game against the Boston Celtics, on Thursday.
There are no guarantees in relation to his return although if all goes well, the Celtics game should be the target date. Giannis is what makes this Bucks team special and without him in the lineup, they will find it tough moving forward. Once Giannis comes back, this team will be poised for a huge playoff run.
Steph Curry Proves He Hasn’t Lost His Touch Prior To Return
Steph Curry is making his highly-anticipated return, tonight.
Steph Curry's broken hand injury from the beginning of the season put the Golden State Warriors in a huge hole. We knew coming into this season that they wouldn't be very good but Curry's absence put them over the edge in the worst way possible. As it stands, the Warriors are last place in the entire NBA and are looking at a lottery pick. Fans have been speculating about when Curry would return and now, it appears as though the questions have been answered.
Curry will be back in the Warriors lineup tonight against the Toronto Raptors. The Star will be playing with some minutes restrictions as the team wants to keep him healthy for next season. In anticipation of tonight, the Warriors took to Twitter where they posted a video of Curry warming up. As you can see, he hasn't missed a beat as his footwork and shooting are still top-notch.
Of course, we won't know how ready Curry is until we actually see him in the game. However, he will definitely be motivated as he's taking on the Toronto Raptors who defeated him in the NBA Finals, last season. It remains to be seen what his impact will be tonight but if there is one thing for sure, it's that the Warriors are much more fun to watch with Curry in the lineup.
Steph Curry’s Rumored Return Date Revealed After G-League Stint
Steph Curry has been out since the end of October with a broken hand.
Steph Curry will most likely go down as the greatest shooter in the history of the NBA. His style of play helped the Golden State Warriors win three NBA championships in the span of five seasons. Coming into the 2019-2020 campaign, it was known that the Warriors weren’t going to be as good as they were in previous seasons. Curry’s broken hand injury pretty well confirmed these suspicions. Now, the team is dead last in the NBA and are on track to get a lottery pick.
Curry has been working hard to rehab himself and yesterday, he was assigned to the G-League for a quick scrimmage with the Santa Cruz Warriors. According to David Lombardi of The Athletic, Curry was playing like his old self and it appears as though he will most likely return on March 5th when the Warriors take on the Toronto Raptors.

“You can’t replicate a game in 2-on-2 or 3-on-3,” Santa Cruz coach Kris Weems explained when asked about Curry’s short stint in the G-League. “He needed that 5-on-5, all five guys moving around, take some bumps. The physicality is what’s going to be important for him to feel comfortable in a game, so we got him that in a game.”
It remains to be seen if Curry will, in fact, suit up on Thursday night although if he does, it will surely be quite the spectacle. Warriors fans haven’t had many reasons to cheer this season but Curry’s return would certainly be an occasion to be happy again.

Head coach Steve Kerr explained the decision to reporters: “He put up a little bit of a fight but also understood why we wanted to take extra precaution.” He went on to say that the choice was not out of fear for reinjury, but to fit in extra conditioning.
“That allows for a more natural, stepping-stone to playing in an NBA game,” Kerr continued. “So I think our training staff was more comfortable with that, coaching staff was more comfortable with that. Steph wanted to play, but we’re just going to take the precautionary step and give him a little more prep.”
The all-star point guard broke his hand against the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 30. In addition to Klay Thompson missing the entire 2019-20 season with a torn ACL, Curry’s injury has derailed the Warriors season who now sit at last in the Western Conference with a 12-47 record.
The team recently traded their newly signed guard D’Angelo Russell for the Timberwolves’ forward Andrew Wiggins before the trade deadline.
Curry plans to practice with the G League affiliate, Santa Cruz Warriors, on Monday.
Max Kellerman Offers Warning To Lakers Over LeBron James Injury
Max Kellerman thinks the Lakers need to operate with caution from here on out.
LeBron James has been going all out for the Los Angeles Lakers this season and their record reflects that. The Lakers are first place in the Western Conference with a record of 44-12. As we inch closer to the playoffs, it appears as though the Lakers are strong contenders for the championship and fans are excited to see what they can do. Unfortunately, it was revealed today that LeBron James will miss the team's game against the Golden State Warriors tonight as he is suffering from a sore groin.
Today on ESPN's First Take, Max Kellerman spoke about LeBron's injury and had a strong suggestion for the Lakers franchise. As he explains, LeBron is in year 17 and is 35 years old which makes him more prone to getting injured. With this in mind, Kellerman thinks the team should begin load managing LeBron to keep him fresh for the playoffs.
LeBron has been dealing with groin problems since last season so it makes sense for the Lakers to exercise some caution moving forward. The Lakers can't afford to lose LeBron as they would have to lean on Anthony Davis who isn't enough on his own.
While LeBron's absence from the lineup will probably only last one game, perhaps it would be wise for him to sit out any weekend games, as well.
Sixers’ Joel Embiid Injured During Loss To The Cavs, Fans React
Sixers star Joel Embiid went down with a shoulder injury just days after Ben Simmons' back issue.
Joel Embiid has been a crucial member of the Philadelphia 76ers, even though sometimes he is incredibly inconsistent. When Embiid plays well, the team plays well and they have driven that philosophy home over the last couple of seasons. Recently, Ben Simmons went down with a back injury and could very well miss the rest of the season. In light of Simmons' injury, it was supposed to be Joel Embiid who would pick up the play and lead his team to victory.
Unfortunately for Embiid and the Sixers, his role could take a huge hit as he went down with a shoulder injury last night. During the first quarter of a match against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Embiid was seen clutching his shoulder and never returned to the game. His team eventually lost, 108-94.
Embiid is supposed to undergo an MRI today which will give the team a better sense of his timeline for recovery. The Sixers were finally starting to string together some wins and if they lose Embiid for a significant amount of time, their playoff chances may very well go out the window. If you're a Sixers fan, you're certainly praying for a speedy recovery.
Stay tuned for updates on Embiid's condition as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Ben Simmons’ Back Injury Receives New Diagnosis: Report
Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is crucial to the success of his team but a back injury has kept him out of the lineup.
Ben Simmons has consistently been one of the best players on the Philadelphia 76ers over the last few seasons. While he has struggled with his jump shot, Simmons has become a beast around the rim and is almost impossible to move out of the paint. Having said that, the Sixers were in panic mode this morning as it was revealed that his back injury might be worse than expected. After undergoing some tests today, it was revealed that Simmons could be out for the foreseeable future.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Simmons has a nerve impingement in his lower back. This makes it much harder to move and in his current state, Simmons wouldn't even be able to think about playing. Instead, Simmons will be re-evaluated in two weeks and by then, doctors will have a better sense of when he can return.
This is horrible news for the Philadelphia 76ers who were just getting out of a terrible slump. Simmons is critical to their success and now, they will have to completely lean on Joel Embiid who has been inconsistent at times, this season. While the Sixers are still a playoff team, if they don't get Simmons back soon, their chances could be greatly affected.
Stay tuned for updates on Simmons as we will be sure to bring them to you.
