A year can change many things, including how Anuel AA feels about Tekashi 6ix9ine. We reported that at the height of the "Trollz" rapper's scandal in July 2019, Puerto Rican superstar Anuel AA sat down for an interview with Complex News. During the discussion, he was asked about 6ix9ine, a rapper he'd previously collaborated with on "BEBE." The song was a megahit, so Anuel AA was asked if, after 6ix9ine got out of prison, he would collaborate with the rainbow-haired star once again.
He said that he hadn't spoken to 6ix9ine and added that he had no regrets with working with the rapper on "BEBE." Anuel AA wanted to distance himself because he'd heard that 6ix9ine turned federal informant. "I got love for him. He just did that so he [can] just stay on his side and I stay on my side." Because Anuel had spent time behind bars for unlawful possession of a firearm, he said, "I can't support that type of...I can't support that." He also stated that he was unsure of whether or not he could work with 6ix9ine again, but as long as there were "clean papers, we straight."
Almost a year later, On Friday (June 12), 6ix9ine and Anuel AA laughed and chatted together on Live as they discussed the possibility of collaborating on another track. This comes nipping on the heels of his smash hit, "Trollz," with Nicki Minaj. Twenty-four hours after its release, 6ix9ine is wasting no time is making his next move. Check out clips from the Live below and let us know if you're ready for these two to connect on a song.
Nicki Minaj Defends Working With 6ix9ine: "None Of You N*ggas Is On The Block!"
Nicki Minaj criticized rapper targeting 6ix9ine for snitching by saying all rappers have mingled with people who have sketchy pasts.
As promised, Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine joined one another on Instagram Live as both fans and critics tuned in for the show. Over the last few days, Nicki has been the target of naysayers after it was revealed that she decided to collaborate on “Trollz” with the federal informant rapper, but although there has been a call for no one to work with 6ix9ine, his numbers are steadily increasing. During their chat, Nicki spoke about 6ix9ine’s snitching controversy and why rappers don’t have the right to call out 6ix9ine.
“Street n*ggas have every right to feel how they wanna feel about snitchin’ because they live that life,” Nicki Minaj said. “I feel rappers need to play it easy because everybody mingles and integrates with everybody and if a top executive rat called one of you unsigned rappers right now to sign y’all, y’all signing.” Tekashi 6ix9ine chimed in for her to say it louder for people who may have missed her point.
“We not gon’—if a rat executive call y’all to sign, y’all signing. So, let’s be clear when we talk about rappers versus street n*ggas. It’s rappers that put guns they ain’t never bust a day in they life in the music all the motherf*cking time so we’re not talking about rappers. I feel street n*ggas have a right to feel how they wanna motherf*ckin’ feel because they in the field and you know, I’m not on the block with 6ix9ine.”
Nicki also said that artists occupy “rooms all the time with people with sketchy pasts and I’m not judging anybody ’cause that’s just, I’m not doing that.” She said that she has respect for so many “of these people” and she “would never fix my face to talk crazy about them.” Then, she mentioned Kenneth Petty. “My husband doesn’t f*ck with the snitch culture. My husband is just like, ‘You know, I can’t f*ck with that.’ And I respect him because he’s lived a different life. Y’all wanna make it rap one minute and streets the next minute. Y’all wanna talk about people not writing they raps one minute, and then do songs with people that don’t write raps the next minute. But if somebody talk about the integrity of hip hop it’s a problem, but y’all can talk about the integrity of these streets and not snitching. We not on the block. None of you n*ggas is on the block!”
6ix9ine commented on the video saying, “People who don’t like Nicki are miserable in their own skin.” Swipe through to listen to the clip of Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine on Instagram Live discussing snitching below and let us know if you agree with her.
Nicki Minaj Will Go Live With Tekashi 6ix9ine Tonight
Nicki Minaj will be on Instagram Live with Tekashi 6ix9ine ahead of the release of their “Trollz” collaboration.
Nicki Minaj clearly isn’t afraid to ruffle any feathers. If she was, she would not have agreed to work with Tekashi 6ix9ine on their new collaborative single, “Trollz.”
The two have a proven track record but, as the first person to work with the rapper following his controversial prison stint, Minaj has a lot to lose. Thankfully, she doesn’t care about pleasing the people because she’s going through with this plan and she’s banking on the song being a success.
Tekashi 6ix9ine announced this week that he would be returning to Instagram Live ahead of his new song’s release and it looks like Nicki Minaj will joining him during the session.
“Should I troll tonight wit this troll or nah? Should We go live tonight @ 11PM EST or nah?” asked the Queen of Rap, posting a picture with 6ix9ine in the “Trollz” merch. “Hmmm *thinks* @6ix9ine ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️‼️⁉️‼️‼️‼️‼️”
The rainbow-haired rapper commented on the post, taking over his shark persona and threatening to attack unless everybody tunes in tonight.
“You want me to bite your face off? You better join,” he wrote.
Nicki Minaj has faced a lot of criticism for her now-multiple collaborations with Tekashi. She claims that she does not need to defend herself or her actions, allowing her fans to back her up at every turn.

6ix9ine To Go Live On Instagram Prior To "Trollz" Drop With Nicki Minaj
Tekashi 6ix9ine announced his plans to go live on Instagram right before his new collab with Nicki Minaj, “Trollz,” is set to drop.
6ix9ine will be conducting yet another premiere party on Instagram live, this time for the release of his upcoming single with Nicki Minaj, titled “Trollz,” dropping at midnight on Friday (June 12th). The news broke earlier today that Nicki, who previously collaborated with 6ix9ine on “FeFe” in 2018, would be featured on his new single, the title of which had already been confirmed by the rainbow-haired rapper himself. There had been rumours that Nicki would be serving as the special guest on 6ix9ine’s follow-up to “GOOBA,” but nothing had been confirmed until now. It looks like 6ix9ine will be ringing in the special day with his fans, as he plans to go live on IG an hour before the “Trollz” music video is set to drop.
“I’m going live tomorrow 11:00pm Eastern,” he announced on Instagram today. “TOMORROW WE BREAK THE INTERNET IM GOING LIVE BEFORE THE VIDEO,” he wrote in the caption. “I CANT BE STOPPED.” 6ix9ine pulled a similar move when he made his musical comeback with “GOOBA,” and that IG live stream ended up breaking the all-time record previously set by Tory Lanez. 6ix9ine’s record has since been broken by a Turkish reality star, but if he links up with Nicki over IG live this time, there’s no doubt that the Barbz will be racking up the views beyond belief.
In addition to the news of their collab, 6ix9ine and Nicki announced that a portion of the proceeds from the song will be going toward The Bail Project Inc., which provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford it.
Will you be tuning into the live stream? Are you excited for “Trollz”?
6ix9ine Reunites With Akademiks For Cringe Boxing Fight & Pop Smoke Praise
Tekashi 6ix9ine returned to Instagram Live with DJ Akademiks, mimicking the low-tier boxing matches we've seen from YK Osiris and marking a return of the fantastic duo.
The world is in peril and, doing the right thing, Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9inepushed back his new music release another week. Now is not the time to be dropping, unless you're speaking on what's happening during the protests.
As we continue to fight for change and an end to systemic racism and police violence, Tekashi 6ix9ine decided that the next best thing to do was to provide people entertainment as only he knows how: by trolling and getting back together with DJ Akademiks.
The rapper teamed up with his good buddy for a 45-minute live-stream, where they discussed everything from Blueface's one-hit-wonder status, Trippie Redd and his ex-girlfriend, their love for the late Pop Smoke, and more. They even mimicked YK Osiris' cringe-worthy boxing skills by facing off against each other and earning tons of face-palm emojis in the comments.
"Who’s behind this ridiculousness?" asked Royce Da 5'9", reposting a video of their bout.
One of the high points from the Live session -- if you can believe that there were any -- came when Tekashi spoke about fellow Brooklyn talent Pop Smoke.
"I'm actually a fan of the kid," he says. "Rest in peace, Pop Smoke. Listen, they shouldn't have done that. That was a great talent from New York City. And I think, to be honest with you, he was the fresh New York City."
Check out some highlights below.

Tokyo Jetz Faces Backlash For Tasteless George Floyd Joke
Tokyo Jetz made a joke that she would "George Floyd" her hairstylist while on Instagram Live.
Our nation is in serious pain right now after the preventable deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless other people of color who have lost their lives to police brutality and racist attacks in the last several months. As protests intensify, people continue to be outraged over the treatment of people of color in the world. Nobody should be treated as though they are a second-rate human and the fight will not stop until everyone is considered equal.
Tokyo Jetz, a rapper signed to Grand Hustle, is facing some major backlash for making insensitive comments on her social media channel, broadcasting her day on Instagram Live and playing around with her hairstylist. During the Live, the rapper put her hairdresser in a headlock and made the following joke: "I'ma George Floyd your muthafuckin’ ass."
George Floyd was killed last week after a since-fired police officer kneeled on his neck, restricting his airway for several minutes. He was suspected of using a counterfeit $20 bill.
"The fact that u could even say that... @REALTOKYOJETZ shit not a joke ! CANCELED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," said one person.
A number of others are standing tall as critics pick her apart for mocking the death of George Floyd, especially when so many other celebrities and people in her position have been using their platforms to uplift people of color and protest in the streets.
What do you make of what she said?

“I am thankful for you guys who will give me the chance, and for those of you who won’t just yet, I understand that, too. You have to grow trust for people, especially when someone has hurt you…I’ll be better,” Brown said on Instagram Live.
Brown said the N-word while singing the lyrics to DaBaby’s song “Rockstar,” and was immediately met with backlash.
“I didn’t want it to be the wrong time,” she said, continuing her apology. “I’ve been so concerned with not wanting to be disrespectful in taking up space when the events that are going on and the death of George Floyd is happening and there is so much suffering and anger. I didn’t want to offend anybody. And I may be offending people right now, but I realize that it’s not about the right time. It’s about the right thing. I’m so lucky to have the platform that I have, and I know a lot of people are asking for white people to use their platform and to take accountability.”
Brown released a short apology quickly after the post went viral, which you can read here.

John Boyega Told To "Try Love" By Fan After Saying He "F*cking [Hates] Racists"
John Boyega went on Instagram Live to share his anger towards racists, and while he received overwhelming support, there were a few people who told him that "hate" wasn't the right emotion to have.
As protests roll on in Minneapolis and Los Angeles, actor John Boyega is using his platform to call out racism. The United States is an uproar after four police officers were fired following their involvement with the death of George Floyd. Star Wars actor John Boyega went on Instagram Live on Wednesday (May 27) to talk about just how much he hates racists, and while it's an understandable sentiment, Boyega was met with pushback from a few of his fans.
Jesse Grant / Stringer / Getty Images"This just burns. Seems to be a never ending cycle," John Boyega also tweeted. The murderers need to be charged severely. Even in the face of death this man was given zero empathy." A person responded, "Hate is everywhere and hating someone only makes it worse try love." Another said, “Hate [is] a strong word, we can’t conquer hatred with hatred. We rather say we hate their attitude." Boyega was unrelenting. “I said what I said. Speak for yourself at all times x.”
We pulled together a few responses from the public, so let us know what you think of John Boyega's recent rant against racism.
Jagged Edge & 112 Verzuz Battle Clowned For Audio Issues
Jagged Edge and 112 came through with their Instagram Live battle but the masses were unimpressed with the audio issues that continually arose.
In the latest battle on Verzuz, Jagged Edge and 112 faced off to determine who has the better hits catalog. Both groups have been prolific and their contributions to the R&B genre are second to none, so this was a battle that many nostalgic fans were looking forward to. Unfortunately, it was plagued with audio issues and, although people were able to still enjoy themselves and celebrate the culture, jokes came flying once the stream ended.
Since the beginning of the Verzuz series, musicians have been experiencing technical difficulties galore. Perhaps things hit a peak during the face-off between Babyface and Teddy Riley, which needed to be restarted completely. Jagged Edge and 112's battle wasn't nearly as bad as that but they definitely could have found a better sound system -- specifically on Jagged Edge's side.
The majority of memes and jokes flying across social media are clowning Jagged Edge for seemingly playing their songs through a walkie talkie. While that much is a gag, the sound quality was not as pristine as we would have hoped. Perhaps this was the way things were always meant to be. After all, both groups were dominating music in the 90s and 00s, which puts us back in the dial-up era. Maybe they were just trying to mimic that era.
What did you think of the battle? Were you underwhelmed by the audio or did you make it through fine?
DMX Discounts Lloyd Banks’ Entire Rap Career
DMX doesn’t think that Lloyd Banks is one of the best lyricists in rap history, declaring his opinion during a talk with Fat Man Scoop.
Lloyd Banks seems to always get the short end of the stick. As a member of G-Unit, he was generally always playing second fiddle to 50 Cent. On all-time great hip-hop lists, he seems to never get the recognition he deserves and now, it looks like even his fellow emcees are taking his talents into questions.
For many hip-hop fans, Lloyd Banks can be considered one of the greatest punchline writers ever. He was seriously lyrical but, recently, one man called his entire career into question.
Ben Gabbe/Getty ImagesSpeaking to Fat Man Scoop on Instagram Live this weekend, DMX questioned Lloyd Banks’ prowess as a lyrical rapper, calling his name into concern after Scoop listed him as one of the best lyricists ever.
“Lloyd Banks? Lyrical?” asked DMX, seriously confused as to how his name even came up.
“Lloyd Banks of course,” replied Scoop. “He had some of the illest lines ever.”
DMX then requested for Scoop to drop four of Lloyd Banks’ best bars of all-time and the man could not rack his brain hard enough to deliver any. Instead, he just continued counting down his favorites, slightly proving X’s point.
Do you believe DMX has a point or is Lloyd Banks one of the undisputed greatest lyricists ever? Skip to the 9-minute mark below.
