Jameis Winston has been working hard during the NFL offseason and with good reason. He recently became a free agent as Tom Brady took his spot as starting quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Winston has yet to secure a new team but he has been in the gym and has even been turning heads with some of his drills.
Former NFL quarterback David Carr recently took to Twitter where he criticized Winston for the drills he was doing, particularly one that had Winston bobbing and weaving his head like a boxer. "Stop. Get some help. I’ve been in a lot of collapsing pockets and never once did I have defenders just flying at my head," Carr said.
Winston saw these comments and clearly wasn't a fan as he left a remark of his own.
"Hey bro I have nothing but love for you! Reach out to help or mind your business though. I’ve been working with my personal trainer since I was 14! We built this from the bottom and we’re still building. Treat others how you want to be treated bro!" Winston wrote.
Winston is clearly taking the high road here which is certainly commendable. Regardless, Winston is working hard and a career backup isn't going to stop him from achieving his goals.

"It's been a great 5 seasons as a Buccaneer. All love and respect. I love Tampa and I look forward to seeing y'all again in February. #SBLV #2020Vision #Dreamforever," Winston wrote on Twitter.
While his former teammates have, arguably, the greatest quarterback in NFL history to look forward to, they've made it clear Winston's absence will be felt.
"Battling with Jameis the last two years has been some of the most fun I've had playing football," center Ryan Jensen told ESPN. "Not only did we become teammates but also good friends over the last two years. This business is always tough and just that -- a business. I'm excited to see where Jameis lands. With that, I'm excited to go to battle with Tom and excited to see what he will bring to the organization."
On March 20, Tom Brady signed his highly anticipated contract to join the Buccaneers and officially leave the New England Patriots, the team that he spent his entire career thus far playing for.
Winston has still not signed with another team.
Jameis Winston “Likely” To Leave Tampa Bay Bucs: Report
Report suggests that it's very likely Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston finds a new home in 2020.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston is reportedly prepared to leave the team once NFL free agency opens on March 18th. According to NBC Sports' Peter King, Winston will "likely" leave Tampa ahead of the 2020 NFL season, though King doubts that the FSU product will be able to find a starting role elsewhere.
Winston, 26, led the league with 5,109 passing yards last season and finished second in passing touchdowns (33), trailing only NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, who tossed 36 TDs. Of course, Winston also threw an NFL-high 30 interceptions, becoming the first player in league history to throw 30 TDs and 30 picks in the same season.

The Jameis Winston experience is an absolute roller coaster, as Bucs fans (and fantasy football owners) know all too well. Assuming he does leave Tampa, the franchise that drafted him No. 1 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, it'll be interesting to see which team takes a gamble on him. That said, King notes that there aren't really any options for Winston to step in and be a starter, so he anticipates the turnover-prone QB to be a backup if he does indeed leave Tampa.
Bucs head coach Bruce Arians offered the following about the team's plans for free agency.
"We have a plan, we're just not telling anybody...we know what we're gonna do. We still just gotta see who else is available," Arians said Tuesday on NFL Network. "Because you have to do your due diligence. You don't really know who is available until the tags come out and all that stuff, if there is a guy really on the market."
