Prior to the George Floyd murder, Jaylen Brown was always an incredibly political person. Many athletes shy away from speaking on political issues but Brown has always been an exception to that rule. He is well versed on a number of topics and when news of Floyd's murder made shockwaves throughout the world, Brown made sure to speak up and let his voice be heard. In fact, Brown drove all the way from Boston to Atlanta so that he could take part in Black Lives Matter protests.
Now, Brown is showcasing just how ambitious he is as he took to Twitter to let his fans in on a project that he would love to see become a reality. Essentially, Brown would want to create a political media outlet that is completely unbiased. Simply put, this outlet would report on the facts with little to no opinion interjected.
Bias is one of the trickiest things in journalism because it is almost impossible to achieve. The stories you choose to cover, the words you choose to use, and even the facts you choose to include or omit, are all apart of your biases. Regardless, there is a big difference between intentional bias and unintentional bias, which we're sure Brown is well-aware of.
A basketball player creating a political media outlet would be unprecedented but if anyone could do it, it would certainly be Brown.

"Being a celebrity, being an NBA player doesn't exclude me from no conversation at all. First and foremost I'm a black man and I grew up on this soil," he says in a video posted from Atlanta. "We're raising awareness for some of the injustices that we've been seeing. It's not ok.”
"Being a bystander is no longer acceptable," Brown said. "If you and your friends are around or are witnesses to cultural biases, micro-aggressions, subtle acts of racism, actual racism etc. and you don't speak up on it or do something about it, you are part of the problem. We're past the point where if it's not in your governance space so you have nothing to do with it. If you don't speak up on these issues, you just as bad."
George Floyd died on May 25, after police officer Derek Chauvin planted his knee on Floyd's neck for several minutes. In video of the incident, Floyd can be heard saying "I can't breathe." Chauvin has been arrested on charges of murder in the third degree and manslaughter.

Jaylen Brown Posterizes LeBron James: NBA Twitter Reacts
"I ain't going to lie, that was pretty nice, pretty awesome."
There are few people in the world who can say they have dunked on LeBron James and lived to tell about it. And two of them play for the Boston Celtics.
During Monday night's blowout victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown took flight over the #WashedKing for an emphatic two-handed stuff. As seen in the footage embedded below, Brown was also hit with a technical for hanging on the rim and staring LeBron down - the cherry on top of his posterizing finish.
Following Boston's 139-107 win at the TD Garden, Brown spoke candidly about how 'awesome' it was to get one on LeBron.
"I ain't going to lie, that was pretty nice, pretty awesome," Brown said, per ESPN. "LeBron, he's gotten so many other guys. Just to be out there against one of the best players to ever play the game is an honor. I always like like that matchup and it gives me a little extra boost."
James took it all in stride.
"Why would I take it personally? It's part of basketball," he said, per ESPN. "It's not the first time I got dunked on. It might not be the last time I get dunked on. But Jaylen's been playing exceptionally well this year. It was a good play."

Celtics’ Rookie Vows To Die His Hair Pink If Teammates Make All-Star Team
Grant Williams makes the case for why Boston should have three All Star.
The NBA All-Star Game is just one month away, which means it's time for those potential All Stars, and their teammates, to start campaigning for votes. For instance, Boston Celtics rookie forward Grant Williams recently made the case for why Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown should all be headed to Chicago next month.
And if all three do earn All Star nods, Williams has vowed to die his hair pink for a month.
Following Boston's 113-101 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, Williams kicked off his media session by highlighting how well Walker, Tatum and Brown have played so far this season. Says the former Tennessee standout, "Kemba Walker is the only guard averaging, and actually is the only conference player, 22 points, five assists, three-and-half rebounds."
Of Tatum, Williams notes:
"(He) recently had 41 points (against the New Orleans Pelicans), averaging 30 (points) over the last couple of games. And — look at this — one of four Eastern Conference players averaging 21 and six and then has 41 (points) in a game, had six 3-pointers at 72 percent (shooting). So, definitely a talented enough performance to, you know, get into the All-Star Game.”
Lastly, the rookie mentioned how Jaylen Brown is averaging 20 points (on 49% shooting) to go along with seven rebounds per game.
"And he’s one of three guards averaging seven rebounds. How you gonna do that? Russell Westbrook did it three years ago, come on now. Jaylen Brown. So get him into the All-Star Game.”
In the most recent All Star fan vote returns, Walker ranked third among guards in the Eastern Conference, trailing only Trae Young and Kyrie Irvng, while Brown checked in at seventh overall in the backcourt. Tatum was fifth among front court players. Fans will be able to cast their vote up until Monday, January 20 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
