Philadelphia 76ers' All Star center Joel Embiid was an answer on "Jeopardy!" Wednesday night but, as we've seen from previous Jeopardy contestants, their sports knowledge wasn't quite up to snuff. That said, it didn't prevent good ole Paul from taking a stab at the $1000 question in the “Current Sports Nicknames" category.

The Jeopardy answer on Wednesday night was as follows: "Joel Embiid in 2019 won the trademark for this nickname of his that also describes the 76er's strategy of improving the team." Of course, the correct response would have been, "What is 'The Process?'" But if Paul had answered correctly we wouldn't be here right now.
Instead, he gifted the Sixers' big man with a new nickname that just might stick: Joel "Do A 180" Embiid.
It's anybody's guess how he came up with "Do A 180" but we're glad he did because that video clip instantly went viral and hilarity ensued, as Embiid himself changed his social handles to Joel "Do A 180" Embiid. And it was a win-win for both parties involved as Paul won the night with $21,000 and Embiid went to bed with an outrageous new nickname.
Check out the footage from Wednesday's episode, as well as Embiid's reaction, below.
Alex Trebek Donates $100K To LA Homeless Shelter
Alex Trebek cashed out $100K in the fight against homelessness.
Legendary Jeopardy host, Alex Trebek donated $100,000 to the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, an organization “focused on preventing, reducing and eliminating poverty, hunger and homelessness.” Ken Craft, the organization’s founder and CEO reached out to TMZ to reveal that the game show host requested a tour of the non-profit organization’s brand new shelter being built in North Hollywood. Over the past several years, Trebek has quietly been donating to the mission and recently invited Craft over his house to discuss the organization’s future financial plans. However, Craft was unaware of Trebek’s plan to provide him with $100,000 in funds to help him secure aid for those suffering from homelessness in the Los Angeles area.

Craft recalls the moment the 79-year-old TV host handed him the check for $100K as he stated, “I hope this helps a little bit.” The loving and philanthropic gesture caused Craft to tear up in the midst of the moment. Trebek invited Ken Craft and his wife to a recent taping of Jeopardy and brought the couple on stage during a commercial break saying:
“I don’t normally do this, but I wanted to bring these two people on stage because they are making a difference in LA.”
Now, Trebek is forever immortalized not only for being one of television’s most charismatic game show hosts but for his work in the Los Angeles community battling against homelessness. At one point in time, Trebek was considering stepping down from hosting Jeopardy due to his battle with pancreatic cancer. But after several bouts of chemotherapy, his resilience has allowed him to continue to remain in the limelight as one of the best TV hosts to ever do it.
While speaking with ABC News, Trebek went into detail about what he learned during his journey with pancreatic cancer stating:
“I have learned something in the past year and it’s this: We don’t know when we’re going to die. Because of the cancer diagnosis, it’s no longer an open-ended life, it’s a closed-ended life because of the terrible…survival rates of pancreatic cancer. Because of that, and something else that is operating here, people all over America and abroad have decided they want to let me know now, while I’m alive, about the impact that I’ve been having on their existence.”
Check out the sweet answer that a Jeopardy contestant that made Alex Trebek choke up in the video provided below.
Kanye West’s "Jesus Is King" Stumped Jeopardy’s "Greatest Of All Time" Contestant
No fans of Yeezy on this show?
Some of the best Jeopardy! contestants in history found themselves at a loss on Tuesday night, when a question about Kanye West's discography left all three of them stumped. At one point during a round of the game show, host Alex Trebek read out the clue, "'Follow God' and 'Closed on Sunday' are tracks on this 2019 Kanye West album." Despite the fact that the special was called Greatest Of All Time, the contestants Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and James Holzhauer, somehow all failed to come up with the correct answer, "What is Jesus Is King."
In the clip, Ken, Brad, and James are completely stumped, watching as they proceeded to lose several hundreds of dollars. Ken in particular appears visibly frustrated, although his Kanye shortcoming did not cause any significant damage to his end results. Ken went on to win the "Greatest of All Time" title with a grand prize total of $1 million. He gave a shoutout to infamous TV host and Jeopardy! creator, the late Merv Griffin, on Twitter. "Gotta give it up to the Big Man himself *points upward to heaven* Merv Griffin," Ken tweeted, along with a photo of himself with his fellow participants.
Strangely enough, this is not the first time that a question about one of Kanye's albums has proved difficult for Jeopardy! contestants. In 2016, Alex Trebek gave the players the clue, "Kanye West for giving us so many different versions to choose from of this early 2016 album." The answer, of course, was Life of Pablo, but the contestants didn't even give the question a shot.
Jeopardy! should definitely start screening its contestants for extensive Kanye knowledge from now on.
A Supposedly Wrong "Jeopardy!" Answer Causes An Uproar On Twitter
One "Jeopardy!" question and supposedly 'wrong' answer has sparked a debate that has social media in an uproar.
For decades, Jeopardy! has sparking conversation, inspiring research, and referencing pop culture moments and personalities to the surprise of their fellowship. However, there have been seldom moments where Jeopardy! has sparked such as debates as this.
On a recent episode of the esteemed game show, a question from the "Where's that Church?" category was provided to the hopeful trio of contestants. The clue for the selected question read, "Built in the 300s A.D., the Church of the Nativity." A contestant by the name of Katie Needle quickly buzzed in confidently answering, "What is Palestine?"
Longtime show host Alex Trebek, calmly replied, "No." The reactionary look of confusion that came across Ms. Needle's face created the now-viral moment as many across the internet defended her answer stating that it was actually correct.
After a dispute with her answer, Katie Needle was unexplainably awarded a $200 prize for her answer following a commercial break that had taken place. While the Jeopardy! production team attempted to correct the flub in private, Twitter was not having it as some users went in on the classic question and answer game show. Take a look at some Twitter users defending Katie Needle below.
Katie Needle herself even took to Twitter adding on to the conversation. Check out her Tweets in response to the alleged Jeopardy flub.
While Katie Needle and Jeopardy! might have secretly fixed their mistake utilizing TV magic, social media wasn't going to let the contestant take an unwarranted 'L' at the fault of the highly-popularized game show. Despite his battles with cancer, Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek and the show still continue to rake in the viewers after all of these years.
