Ever since Kobe Bryant's tragic passing, there have been some incredible stories going around about Kobe and just how funny and great of a person he was. While he could be ruthless with his teammates, he was always doing it in good fun, while also providing an edge to show people that he was very serious about winning championships.
Recently, Jeremy Lin, who played with Kobe during the 2014-2015 season, told a story on Danny Green's podcast about just how dry Kobe's sense of humor was. As he explains, Kobe once showed up to practice just to pour salt in the wounds of those who were supposedly on the trading block. Of course, this occurred one day before the deadline.
“He comes in, sweatsuit [on], he has a sling around for his hurt shoulder, he has his shades on, his Kobe shades,” Lin said as transcribed by ClutchPoints. “And he walks in and everyone’s like, ‘Ohhhh’ and Booz, Carlos Boozer, is like ‘Kob! Good to see you bro! Dang, we haven’t seen you in a bit, how come you came today?’ And he was just stone-faced, and he was like, ‘I just came by to say bye to some of you bums who are going to get traded tomorrow.’ [laughs] And then he sits down at the table where you control the scoreboard at the practice facility and he said a couple words to the coach, and then he left. And I remember one of my teammates was just like ‘I lost all motivation to practice.’”
While this may seem a little mean-spirited, you have to understand that teammates joke around with each other all the time and when you're as dignified as Kobe, you can get away with comments like that.

Jeremy Lin Speaks On His Regrets During Knicks’ Linsanity Era
Jeremy Lin was a sensation during his first few games with the New York Knicks.
Jeremy Lin was never a bonafide superstar in the NBA although he certainly made the most of his NBA career as he won a title with the Toronto Raptors last season. Not to mention, he is now playing in the CBA and is enjoying quite a bit of success. However, most people remember Lin for his first few games as a member of the New York Knicks which were dubbed as “Linsanity.”
Quite frankly, “Linsanity” was the best part of the Carmelo Anthony years which yes, is a slight to Melo. Regardless, Knicks fans remember Lin’s time as a Knick quite fondly, and recently, Lin was asked if he had any regrets in regards to his time in New York. As he explains, he wishes he had been more in the moment.

“It was the most special, precious moment,” Lin said. “And in the end to the previous question about regrets. My biggest regret is that I didn’t soak in every second of that experience. That’s my biggest regret. My biggest regret is that I was too immature and young to really learn how to not take that for granted. I was so set on the next season and rehabbing from my injury and what I wanted to happen next that I couldn’t stay in the moment and just appreciate that, and appreciate New York for who New York was and what New York did for me, who all those fans were, and what that meant. It was so special.”
Lin might not be an NBA legend but what he was able to do during a one month span with the Knicks will never be forgotten.

Jeremy Lin Rips Donald Trump For Calling COVID-19 "Chinese Virus"
Jeremy Lin is upset at the damage Donald Trump is doing to Chinese people around the world.
There has been a ton of unrest lately due to the Coronavirus. Simply put, people are scared and it is starting to bring out the best and worst in us. The Coronavirus began spreading in China back in December and many have used this as an opportunity to be racist towards Chinese people which is 100 percent wrong. At this point, putting the blame on anyone is both xenophobic and gets us nowhere closer to a cure. Despite this, President Donald Trump continues to refer to the disease as the "Chinese Virus."
Chinese-American basketball star Jeremy Lin has taken exception to this and recently got on Twitter to blast the President for his reckless words. As Lin explains, numerous Chinese people are being attacked because people are scared that they are carriers. Of course, these fears aren't based in reality but with Trump's rhetoric, the fears have been exacerbated.
"And I dont wanna hear about no German measles/Spanish flu bc everyday Asian-Americans inc ppl I know are threatened and physically attacked. I dont give a crap about the history of names rn. What I do know is this subtle anti-Chinese message only empowers more hate towards asians," Lin explained.
Many of Lin's followers didn't agree with his sentiments while others sympathized with the NBA champion. Regardless, it's clear that we are better off coming together in this time of need.
Jeremy Lin Reacts To Receiving His "Fat" Raptors Title Ring
The ring was too big for Lin’s hand.
Last season, the Toronto Raptors defied the odds and won the Championship. It was their first title in franchise history and most of it was all thanks to the efforts of Kawhi Leonard. Overall, it was a big team win that required the help of various role players. Jeremy Lin was one of those players and turned out to be a fan-favorite amongst the Toronto crowd. This season, Lin is playing overseas and recently, he finally got his championship ring.
Lin took to Instagram where he flexed the ring and asked his followers about what he should do with the piece. As he explains, the ring is fairly massive and isn’t all that lowkey. If he were to wear it in public, people would notice it almost immediately.
“Uhhhh lollll. Finally got my @raptors championship ring to Beijing and this things fatttt!! FAT!” Lin wrote. “Thank you to Toronto and all the fans who made last year so memorable. Great ending to 2019, time to make more history in 2020. The ring literally takes over my hand…taking all suggestions on how to make it a lil more lowkey or should I just flex it everywhere I go lol ??”
Regardless of whether or not he continues to wear it, there is no denying how Lin will never forget the moment he became an NBA champion.
