Joe Flacco has had a very interesting career in the NFL although it hasn't always been extremely glamorous. Flacco was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens back in 2008 and eventually became a star quarterback where he won a Super Bowl in 2013. After receiving a massive contract, Flacco hit a wall and was unable to give the Ravens the results they were truly hoping for. Last year, Flacco was traded to the Denver Broncos where he had a very weak season and found himself without a job.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Flacco is about to redeem himself as he was just given a contract with the New York Jets. This is a one-year deal and the Jets fully expect Flacco to become the back-up to Sam Darnold this season.
The Jets didn't have a lot of depth at the QB position last season so having Flacco on the team will certainly give them some breathing room. Regardless of how solid the move is, fans had a lot to say about it and took to social media with some pretty funny memes and hot takes.
With this in mind, check out some of the best reactions, below. Also, let us know what you think of the acquisition, in the comments.
Andy Dalton Receives Interest From A Second AFC East Team
Andy Dalton could be on his way to the Big Apple.
Andy Dalton was recently released by the Cincinnati Bengals after the team drafted Joe Burrow with their first overall pick. At the end of the day, the Bengals' decision to release Dalton was entirely based upon his own request. Dalton believes he is good enough to be a starter in the NFL and he is hoping to make a splash with a new team.
Over the past week or so, there have been discussions that the New England Patriots would be the ones most interested in signing Dalton. Now, another AFC East team is reportedly throwing their hats into the ring. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the New York Jets could end up being the ones to land Dalton.
It's important to note that the Jets are simply looking into Dalton and that they have no immediate plans to sign him. Of course, it is a possibility although the Jets already have a starter, albeit, an unproven one, in Sam Darnold. If Dalton were to join the Jets, it's ambiguous as to whether or not he would get to be the starter right away.

Geno Smith Tears Rex Ryan To Shreds For Recent Slander
Geno Smith wasn't happy with Rex Ryan's recent comments on ESPN.
Rex Ryan hasn't been a very popular man recently thanks to his negative comments on ESPN. Recently, Ryan got into some trouble for the way he spoke about Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, Amari Cooper. Now, Ryan is getting some harsh words from the likes of Geno Smith, who was his quarterback on the New York Jets.
In a recent ESPN segment, Ryan spoke about Bill Belichick's success with the New England Patriots and roasted the legendary coach saying he would never have gotten it done with a QB like Smith. Smith saw these comments and immediately took to Twitter where he put his former bench boss on blast.
“My momma never liked dude he been a snake. . and y’all glorify it. . should’ve got fired after yr1,” Smith said. ”Truth is we won 8 games after ESPN had us winning two and he got his job back. .somehow I’m caught up in a feud and I’m the scapegoat. . Same guy that drafted me." Smith continued by saying “I could easily go on and on about the bs I see but truthfully I’m so happy I don’t even bother. God put me in this position where even my enemies gotta mention my name. so I just sit back and watch the show!"
Ryan has been making a lot of enemies as of late and it seems like even his former players can be subjected to the slander. We wonder who he will go after next.
Le’Veon Bell Divulges On Jets Status And His Talks With Adam Gase
It’s been a rocky relationship at times.
Le’Veon Bell was signed by the New York Jets last season in what was considered to be a great move in terms of bolstering their offense. Despite Bell’s best efforts, the Jets were unable to get much done as their head coach Adam Gase looked downright incompetent at times. Regardless, Gase is back for another season and so is Bell. Just a couple of months ago, there was believed to be some tension between the two as Gase seemed dismissive when asked about Bell’s return.
Recently, TMZ caught up with the star running back and asked him about his situation with the Jets. As he explains in the video below, everything is good with his head coach and the two have talked things out. For now, Bell is excited to get back on the field in green and white.
“Me and coach Gase had our exit meeting,” Bell said. “It was fine, so we straight. Yeah, we good.” Bell and the Jets are a team with potential and if quarterback Sam Darnold improves, they could certainly become a contender in the AFC East, especially if Tom Brady leaves the Patriots.
Hopefully, for Bell’s sake, the Jets can improve their offense so he can go back to shining like he did in Pittsburgh.
Jets Laughed Off Idea Of Drafting Lamar Jackson, Says Larry David
The Jets made a huge mistake.
Lamar Jackson is being heavily considered as the undisputed MVP of the NFL this season. At every turn, Jackson has blessed us with some incredible football and continues to showcase both his running and passing ability. When Jackson was first drafted back in 2018, there were some concerns as to whether or not he could be a successful quarterback. Jackson was passed up by numerous teams and was eventually drafted 32nd overall by the New England Patriots.
Famous Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator, Larry David, is a huge New York sports fan and as he explained on "The Michael Kay Show," he urged the Jets to draft Jackson. As David explains, he had former GM David Maccagnan's number and called him up to tell him to take Jackson. David's request was met with a scoff.
"I did call Mike Maccagnan before the 2018 draft and I recommended that he draft Lamar Jackson. I have a witness," David said. "He kinda gave me the most condescending ... he laughed at me. But, who can blame him?"
Not only is David a great comedic mind but he seems to have a penchant for spotting great talent as well. If the Jets had listened to him, perhaps their season would have ended differently.
