These politically charged times have people on edge, and some things that would have been seen as playful quips on social media are being treated much more seriously. We continue to watch as protests unfold in cities across America—most recently in Washington, D.C. as people have begun to chant outside of the White House—and on Friday (May 29), Lil Nas X tweeted a simple joke that some people found offensive.

"What y'all wearing to the civil war," Lil Nas X wrote. There were quite a few people who didn't think his joke was funny, and they let the young artist know just how much they disapproved of his tweet. In turn, Lil Nas X took on a more serious tone when he issued his apology. "I am sorry for not using my platform to speak up more on the situation. i honestly feel as though it has become so normalized that even i myself am numb to police brutality towards black people. i hope this time around something changes."

Lil Nas X also shared a link to a Change.org petition calling for "Justice for George Floyd." Out of 6,000,000 signatures requested, there are over 5,900,000 signees. "I won’t pretend it isn’t happening tho," the rapper added. Check out his tweets below and let us know if you think people overreacted.

Lil Nas X is seemingly having trouble coming to terms with who he is. The viral superstar came out as a gay man last year, making the announcement on Twitter. 

"Some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more," he wrote before revealing his sexuality. 

Well, it turns out that he may no longer identify as homosexual. This week, he took to social media to revert back to his old ways, revealing that he is giving heterosexuality a chance.

Over the past few weeks, an Australian artist has painted 50 Cent‘s face onto the bodies of several world figures. It was first Mao Zedong, a Chinese leader, then his face was painted onto the bodies of Taylor Swift and Donald Trump. Fif’s seemingly taken a liking to these portraits, though he’s jokingly expressed his frustrations towards the artist.

Lushux, the artist behind these murals, shared his recent masterpiece titled 50 Pence. Fif’s face was painted onto Mike Pence’s head — big ears and all. Truthfully, it could be one of the best murals yet in Lushux’s series of 50 Cent paintings. 

“This fucking guy won’t stop, SMH ?‍♂️I guess i’m not wearing a mask because i’m tested frequently,” 50 Cent wrote in the captions. Of course, this is in reference to Mike Pence’s visit to Mayo Clinic where he refused to wear a mask, despite the clinic stating that all visitors are required to wear a mask.

Fif later shared a video of the painting with a caption directed at the artist. “wait how does this even happen, what is this guys problem with me. fucking lunatic,” Fif wrote. “I need a drink.”

Maybe one day Fif will end up hiring the artist to do some work for him. Despite the apparent complaints, there’s gotta be a part of 50 Cent that’s flattered by all of this.

In the current times we're in, rappers, producers, and songwriters have faced off on Instagram Live for soundclashes of sorts. Going song-for-song, we've witnessed some of the greatest musical artists of our time duke it out to see who has the stronger catalog. Thankfully, these sorts of battles have sparked even more clashes of sorts, including among comedians.

Most recently, Michael Blackson and Mike Epps went face-to-face on Instagram Live and gave the people want they wanted -- a roast off. The two legendary comedians dished out jokes on each other. "Aye Mike, your mom is half coyote, half squirrel," Epps told Blackson. "Mike, your mom and your pops is the same n***a. Fuck you," Blackson quipped.

But in a matter of moments, they teamed up to troll the coronavirus pandemic as a whole. Mike Epps joked that it's gotten so bad in New York that the Statue of Liberty was rushed to the hospital while Michael Blackson joked that coronavirus is so big that it has Ebola jealous.

Even in the midst of all the roasting, Mike Epps and Michael Blackson did shower each other with flowers for the work they've put in over the years. Perhaps, we'll get to see them back on screen together soon. The last time they starred in the film alongside each other was for 2016's Meet The Blacks. 

In the wee hours of the morning, an earthquake with a 3.7 magnitude hit Los Angeles. The “light shaking” occurred in South L.A., Inglewood, Culver City, and the L.A. International Airport, marking the second earthquake in a matter of 10 days that had a magnitude above 3.0.

Los Angeles residents immediately hit the ‘Gram to react to the earthquake as dishes and cars began shaking. However, while the rest of the L.A. area reacted to the earthquake, Snoop Dogg was sound asleep. He took to the ‘Gram recently explaining that he didn’t feel the earthquake at all. His hair, on the other hand, “gathered itself up” once the earthquake struck.

“They said we just had an earthquake. I didn’t feel shit,” Snoop said. “The fuck happened to my hair? We must’ve had an earthquake because my hair didn’t look like this when I went to bed. My hair must’ve got scared and gathered itself up to protect itself from the earthquake. I didn’t feel it.”

Ultimately, this train of thought only lasted for a little while before Snoop declared that he was going back to bed. Quarantine is clearly giving Snoop a well-deserved break from his regularly scheduled events but truthfully, it’s a bit alarming that his hair reacted to the earthquake before he did.

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s relationship woes have been well documented. For those who don’t remember, Tristan allegedly cheated on Khloe with a family friend, Jordyn Woods. Since then, the two have been split up although they are frequently together so that they can raise their daughter, True.

During a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s, Khloe left the possibility of a second child with Thompson open, although it was more of a joke. The context is as follows. Tristan and Khloe were talking about their daughter and how she is outgrowing her toys. Thompson made the point that Khloe should keep the toys in case they have another daughter. That’s when Khloe suggested that she might borrow Thompson’s sperm for when the time comes. However, the way she said it was pretty sarcastic, yet amusing nonetheless.

Considering Thompson and Kardashian are no longer an item, it’s safe to say she would be having the child “in vitro” if and when the time comes. 

As for Thompson, he seems to be living his best life and enjoying the time off from the NBA season. Of course, everything is shut down due to the Coronavirus so Thompson has been at home taking it easy. In fact, he’s probably watching episodes of KUWTK, wondering how he ended up on reality TV, in the first place.

Drake joined Joe Budden's Instagram live, Sunday night, leaving many to assume the two have squashed their beef.

"You're the only one that, like, avoids me for some strange reason," Budden says referencing that he's met with other members of OVO before.

"Never avoid you," Drake retorts. "I just don't see you. We're never in the same place."

"Cause I'm too broke?"

"I didn't want to say it," Drake finishes, playing into the joke.

Budden brings up that Drake has sat down for interviews with Elliott Wilson and B.Dot of Rap Radar, but why not Budden? When will Budden get his interview?

"When the album's ready," Drake responds.

"You've been saying that for a year, and now I have a whole leaked album with like 30 Drake joints."

Drake then claims they're all "old shit."

Both Drake and Budden have gone back and forth at each other throughout the years. Budden has released a series of diss-tracks directed at the Toronto rapper, while Drake has insulted Budden. During his Summer Sixteen tour, Drake joked on stage, "I should’ve brought Joe Budden up here and let him do "Pump It Up" one time tonight. Pump, pump, pump it up. Fuck them n****s, man."

Joe Exotic is currently the talk of the Internet, though as of the past few hours, it hasn’t been all positive. Tiger King became a hit on Netflix in the past week, gaining the incarcerated zoo owner support from celebrities and your average viewer alike. Cardi B and 50 Cent have both chimed in on the docuseries but Snoop Dogg got particularly enthusiastic over Joe Exotic.

Hitting the ‘Gram, Snoop Dogg dropped jaws after sharing a meme of his face edited onto Joe Exotic’s head. Snoop’s taken on several personas throughout his career and it appears that a zoo owner might be his next flex? The rapper simply captioned the photo, “Exotic Snoop.” The photo garnered attention across the web with 50 Cent in hysterics over the image. “Yo this is so foul,” Fif commented along with several laughing emojis.

The meme surfaced on Snoop’s Instagram page prior to footage of Joe Exotic ranting about not being able to use the N-Word surfaced on the Internet. W”hat’s going on in this country? It’s absolutely pathetic,” he said. “I can’t say the n-word but you can get on YouTube and watch any black man’s rap video and they’re calling each other the n-word. What the hell is this discrimination?”

Shortly after, Houston royalty and 1/2 of UGK, Bun B, called out the incarcerated zoo owner. “No Joe. You’re pathetic,” he captioned an IG post. “Later for this clown.”

Of all the accomplishments Ms. Tina Knowles is known for throughout her longstanding career, her social media followers love her for those corny mom jokes. Beyoncé and Solange’s mother likes to take to social media ever so often and deliver chuckle-worthy-yet-eye-rolling jokes for her followers, but because the internet is what it is, she can’t avoid people who decide to hop online to spew a few nasty remarks.

“Did you hear about the corduroy pillows?” Tina asked in her video before giving the joke’s punchline. “Yeah, they’re making headlines! Headlines on your head when you lay on it.” You know, because no joke I complete without an immediate explanation. While Tina Knowles thought her line was funny, an Instagram user thought this would be the perfect time to put Tina in check.

“Girl, take them bangs and disappear with your daughter and grandchildren for a little while,” the woman commented. “We don’t need this right now.” Tina took a few quarantined moments to reply. “First of all i am not a girl . So try to conjure up a little respect and secondly if you don’t need it then get off my page and go where you like what you see,” Tina stated. There aren’t many people who are as petty as 50 Cent. Sure, Nicki Minaj might carry Petty as her last name but even she can’t get on his level. Last year, Fif took on a new moniker for his side-hustle as a debt collector, referring to himself as Fofty after one of the people he loaned money to, Power producer Randall Emmett, pleaded for the online torment to end with a typo.

Even though Emmett paid his debt, their feud has continued over the months, even though Fif called it off. However, it’s because of Lala Kent, Vanderpump Rules star and Emmett’s fiancee, that things heated up once again. She said that she “dinged” Fofty’s ego, though they seemed to bury the hatchet again.

In wake of coronavirus and all the subsequent event cancellations to slow down the spreading, it turns out that Randall Emmett and Lala Kent’s wedding was forced to be postponed. The date was initially locked down for April 18th but they’ve pushed it back to July, PageSix reports.

Of course, this news hit the web and 50 Cent couldn’t help but share his own thoughts on the scenario. With CDC advising everyone to avoid gathering of more than 50 people, the rapper said that, whether in April or July, coronavirus wouldn’t be what prevented people from attending. “wasn’t nobody going to this shit anyway,” he wrote with a screenshot of the article.
