If you're at all interested in social justice, you were probably heartbroken when you saw a couple of hashtags trending on Twitter this morning. "#WhiteOutWednesday" and "#WhiteLivesMatter" were both in the list of trending topics. The simple fact that these hashtags earned enough attention to show up on the trending page is ridiculous. However, upon heading into the most popular tweets under those trends, you'll realize that it was actually taken over by K-Pop stans.
After finding that the two trends were being distributed among white supremacists, K-Pop stans came up with an idea to drown out their tweets with their own fancams and photos.
"HELLO KPOP TWT WHAT IF WE FLOODED ALL THE RACIST HASHTAGS W FANCAMS," suggested one fan before it took off. Now, when you click into either "#WhiteLivesMatter" or "#WhiteOutWednesday," you'll be flooded with content about all of the most popular K-Pop artists.
In fact, in order to clear up the confusion, Twitter even listed both trends under the K-Pop category.
Shout-out to the K-Pop stans for doing their part in silencing the racists of the world. Check out some of the tweets below.

K-Pop Star Lies About Coronavirus Status For April Fool’s Day
K-Pop singer/actor Kim Jaejoong claimed he had been hospitalized with COVID-19 but it was all part of a dumb April Fool’s Day joke.
This is precisely why April Fool’s Day shouldn’t be a thing this year. As we navigate through this global health crisis as a collective, some people are using humor to take their minds off of the pandemic. This, however, is not funny in the slightest.
K-Pop singer/actor Kim Jaejoong is making headlines this morning after his attempt at an April Fool’s Day prank, lying about contracting COVID-19 and his hospitalization. The 34-year-old told his near-2-million followers on Instagram that he had been diagnosed with the coronavirus and was receiving treatment. Fifty minutes after uploading the post, he deleted it and explained that he was capping the entire time, trying to raise awareness for social distancing and self-isolation.

“Although this did go quite far for April Fool’s Day, so many people worried about me in a short span of time,” said Kim, in a translated statement. “Oh and I don’t think of this as an April Fool’s joke. My family and my friends are getting sick..and dying..it’s never !! just someone else’s problem. I wanted to tell you that protecting myself is protecting the precious people around us…I will accept all punishment I receive from this post. I hope all of you are healthy.”
Clearly, he went too far in this. In lighter April Fool’s Day news, Lil Nas X also contributed to the makeshift holiday, actually making us laugh with his prank.
K-Pop Star Ailee Addresses Backlash After Posting Chris Brown Photo & Singer Responds
“I DO NOT THINK LIGHTLY OF ANY ABUSES.”
K-Pop star Ailee was present at last weekend’s Grammy awards and jumped to the opportunity to have her photo taken with Chris Brown, who attended the event with his five-year-old daughter Royalty. The cute selfie was added to Ailee’s Instagram feed but didn’t pull in sweet comments since users shook their heads at the fact that she boasted her encounter with someone who has a history of physical abuse.

Almost everyone is aware of Chris’ past relationship with Rihanna that ended in 2009 when he assaulted her while she was a passenger in his car, leaving her with a battered and bruised face. We can’t confirm what her first caption was but her “edit for the last time” clears up any confusion her followers have about her support of Chris.
“When I said ‘he WAS one of the artists I enjoyed listening to growing up and that’s a fact that will never change.’ i meant the fact that I enjoyed his music when I was younger will never change,” she wrote. “The only thing on my mind was literally ‘oh wow!! CB! I used to love his songs!’ I DO NOT and WILL NOT support women, men, pet, animal or any other kinds of abusers and the ONLY reason I’m keeping this post up is to CLARIFY the reason I took this pic in the first place.”
Chris clearly saw her updated caption and simply commented: “CORNBALL.”
