A clip went viral last week of Keke Palmer at the Los Angeles protests. As she faced the National Guard, she requested that they join in the march. They declined. Instead, they took a knee with Palmer and those that were marching with her. They said that they needed to guard their post.

In a recent op-ed posted to Variety, Keke Palmer details her experience at the Los Angeles protests and explains the viral clip. "At one point, I spoke with National Guardsmen who were preventing us from marching past a certain point and challenged them to march with us," she wrote. "They didn’t march with us, and while one offered to for a short stretch, he also said he had to “protect the businesses” and buildings in the area."
She said that at that point, she wasn't considered the buildings but the innocent lives lost to racial discrimination and police brutality. And if any of these officers did decide to march with her, it would make a much bigger statement about the systemic oppression Black Americans face regularly.
"In that moment, I wasn’t thinking about who may or may not touch a building; I was thinking about how we’re out here, fighting for a call to protect human lives. And the government is telling you to protect a building? That doesn’t add up to me, and I wanted to challenge them with the question, “How does that add up to you?”
While a few guardsmen knelt, for me that isn’t enough. Kneeling has become a mockery of sorts. Kneeling on George Floyd’s neck is what killed him. Now we see police officers kneeling and then, moments later, attacking peaceful protesters. At this point, the kneeling has no meaning."

Keke Palmer Pleads With National Guardsman To Walk Alongside Protesters
Keke Palmer joined the protest and asked a National Guardsman to walk with them, and when he told her he could only go to the corner, she said that wasn't enough.
Celebrities are hitting the streets as they join the peaceful protests across the country, and Keke Palmer is the latest famous face to be seen. A video clip of the talk show host went viral and garnered mixed reactions on Tuesday (June 2) as she passionately pleaded with a National Guardsman to abandon his post and march alongside protesters.
View this post on Instagram"Once the looting starts the shooting starts? We have a president talking about the second amendment as a use for people to come out here to use firearms against the people who are suffering," Keke Palmer said as she was face-to-face with the soldier as other protesters surrounded him. "This is the message that we're seeing. I don't know if you're on social media because the news don't tell you everything, but you have to pay attention to what's going on. Or else, we have a president that's trying to incite a race war when the borders are closed."
"We can't leave. You have people in here that need your help," she added. "You, y'all stand together with the community, with society. To stop the governmental oppression. Period. We need you. So march with us. March beside us. You get your people. Y'all march beside us! March beside us! Let the revolution be televised! March beside us and show us that you're here for us." The soldier let her know that he would march with the group from one end of the street to the other, but because of his assignment to control the area, he couldn't go any further than that block. It wasn't enough for Keke and she let him know that.
While Keke Palmer wasn't satisfied with the soldier's answer, someone else asked him if he would at least take a knee, which he did. Some people criticized Keke for not understanding that even kneeling put the man's military career and life at risk, while others applauded her for being brave enough to challenge authority. KeKe Palmer and DJ D-Nice will be hosting an online event that will feature guests including DJ Khaled, LL Cool J, Fat Joe, Common, and more.
Over 30 years ago, Club MTV was launched. The 30-minute show featured young people dancing to Top 40 hits, much in the same style of Soul Train, just with a different target audience. The network has decided to revive the series for a Club MTV special event that’s set to take place virtually with a message of being “#AloneTogether.” KeKe Palmer and DJ D-Nice will host the star-studded Club MTV Presents #DanceTogether with D-Nice event that will “raise proceeds for Save the Music Foundation’s effort to bring music programs to students in underserved communities severely impacted by COVID-19,” according to a press release.
The “#DanceTogether” online party is all about fans linking up with the famous as they show their moves while in the safety and comforts of their living rooms. KeKe Palmer and DJ D-Nice will have a slew of celebrity guests popping in including “LL Cool J, Kelly Rowland, DJ Khaled, Common, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Donny Wahlberg, Fat Joe, Nicole Scherzinger, La La Anthony, Rita Ora, Pauly D, Steve Aoki, MJ Rodriguez, and Liza Koshy.” Of course, a Club MTV party wouldn’t be complete without the show’s host in the 1980s to 1990s, Downtown Julie Brown.
DJ D-Nice has been keeping the indoor party alive with Club Quarantine as he hops on the ones and twos and spins some of our favorite tracks for hours at a time. You can catch Club MTV Presents #DanceTogether with D-Nice along with host KeKe Palmer and their celebrity friends on “Saturday, April 25th at 10PM ET/PT on MTV, simulcasts across VH1 and MTV2, and will be livestreamed on PlutoTV.”
KeKe Palmer & Kelly Rowland Talk About What Confused Them About Sex
Kelly Rowland has been making the most of her time indoors by chatting online with her friends about sex.
This quarantine has Kelly Rowland letting her freak flag. The “Coffee” singer has been spending time with a few of her friends on Instagram as they dish a bit of girl talk on Live. Fans have tuned in to watch the Destiny’s Child icon talk about her life, especially her sexual escapades in the bedroom. Days ago, she and bestie Lala Anthony chatted about their favorite sex positions. “I’m a f*cking rider,” Kelly revealed.

The two talked all about sex and Kelly wanted to know what curiosities KeKe had about intercourse before losing her virginity. “I’ll be honest, and this is gonna sound so stupid to everybody that’s watching but I think a lot of people have this question,” KeKe said. “I didn’t understand penetration because I had never had sex.” KeKe laughed at herself for even saying it out loud. “I didn’t understand that penises got hard ’cause I never seen one. So, before sex, I just kept wondering, how do people have sex? The penis is just flat.”
Kelly couldn’t help but laugh at KeKe, but the talk show host didn’t seem to mind as she chuckled at herself, as well. Check out KeKe revealing her childhood confusion below and let us know if you can relate.
Keke Palmer Explains Why She Prefers To Not Date Celebs
Keke Palmer explains why she’s hush-hush about her romantic life and why she’s leery of people’s intentions when they try to get closer to her.
Unlike many other celebrities, Keke Palmer keeps her romances private. In a day and age where everyone seems to aspire to be “#RelationshipGoals” as they post every detail of their personal lives on social media, many times with their equally-as-famous partners, Keke says she prefers to date people outside of the spotlight.
There have been rumors that the talk show host has snagged herself a new man, but she remains tight-lipped about her relationships. “I don’t really do relationship stuff online, mainly because I don’t know how I would do it without looking, like, cheesy or something, you know?” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “Yes, I’m a hundred percent authentic, but there is stuff that I do save for family and friends… I do have a Finsta. Sometimes I forget to post on there, ’cause I do post a lot of real moments and raw moments on my main Instagram page. But at the same time, when it comes to romance, [posting about it] doesn’t really come naturally to me, so I feel like, why force it?”
It doesn’t sound as if Keke has ruled out the possibility that she’ll ever date a celebrity, but it isn’t likely. “I’ve always had the same philosophy when it comes to dating,” she said. “Not that I wouldn’t give someone a try. But trying to keep my private life outside of my work life, to me, it’s easiest when you don’t date someone with the same career.” Unsurprisingly, Keke Palmer also added that it’s difficult to figure out who wants to get to know her for her, and who just wants to latch onto her coattails.
“And it’s not just romantic relationships. It’s friends too,” she told the magazine. “That wavering, that’s the most traumatic thing about fame. And that can really tear at your self-esteem if you let it. ’Cause the reality is you really might be a great person, you really might be that fun to be around, you might be that lovable, but because you’re always having to protect yourself from what people may want from you, you can’t even embrace the fact that maybe it’s all true.”
Tinashe, Keke Palmer Heat Up Megan Thee Stallion #SavageChallenge
Tinashe & Keke Palmer join thousands of others who have shared their versions of Megan Thee Stallion’s #SavageChallenge.
The #SavageChallenge is taking over, and it looks like Tinashe can’t stop grooving to Megan Thee Stallion‘s Suga track. The Houston Hottie recently released her Suga EP amid chaos and dissension with her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment. Nevertheless, Meg’s fans have warmly accepted her latest effort, and one fan recently helped breathe life into “Savage” after she created a TikTok dance to the song.
Even Megan Thee Stallion was impressed and shared videos of fans attempting the #SavageChallenge. She finally stepped up to the plate, herself, and shared her take on the dance, and of course, it was completed with a twerk session. Tinashe and talk show host Keke Palmer are using their coronavirus quarantine time to learn a few TikTok dances, including “Savage,” and she put her sexy moves on display when she shared her videos to Instagram.
We previously reported how Shaquille O’Neal’s son Shareef O’Neal saw Tinashe’s #SavageChallenge clips and decided to shoot his shot on Twitter. The 20-year-old wrote, “I have a crush on you,” to which the Songs For You singer responded with “???.” Check out Tinashe, Keke Palmer, and Kandi Burruss with her daughter Riley as they all showcase their dance moves below.
