Bill Cosby's sentencing shifted the narrative surrounding the now-disgraced comedian. America's Dad went from being one of the most championed figured in entertainment to a convicted sex offender. In the world of hip-hop, many artists that represented a culture Cosby was vehemently against championed him in wake of the #MeToo movement. Snoop Dogg has been among those who've called for Cosby's freedom.
Following the backlash surrounding Gayle King's interview with Lisa Leslie, Snoop Dogg called her out on claims that she was putting down her own people while calling for Bill's freedom. Even though Bill Cosby gave Snoop Dogg a nod of approval for standing up for him, Jemele Hill reminded Snoop of Bill's victims including the account made by Beverly Johnson. She also reminded Snoop of Cosby's previous disparaging stance on rappers and Black men who listen to rap.
"I love you bro, but please remember that Bill Cosby also victimized black women. Beverly Johnson, the first black supermodel, wrote a compelling account of how Bill Cosby drugged her and tried to rape her. This also was the same dude telling people that black men didn’t deserve any respect because they wore their pants too low, and listened to hip hop. I’m glad he was able to present a positive picture of a black Dad, but he also was very anti-black in other parts of his life," she wrote.

Ari Lennox Latest To Slam Gayle King & Oprah
Ari Lennox criticizes Gayle King for bringing up Kobe Bryant's rape allegations in her interview with Lisa Leslie.
Ari Lennox has joined in on the tirade against Gayle King, after the journalist brought up Kobe Bryant's rape allegations and whether or not they complicate his legacy in a recent interview with Lisa Leslie. The former WNBA star responded by stating that she does not think these allegations should be used against him and that she doesn't believe he could have committed sexual assault. However, the conversation did not end there, as Gayle received a ton of backlash for her question from fellow celebrities and the general public alike. 50 Cent and Boosie Badazz were among the furious famous folks who took issue with Gayle for bringing up Kobe's rape case. Snoop mirrored these thoughts and also went after Gayle's BFF Oprah Winfrey, whom Fif has also criticized for associating with Donald Trump and Harvey Weinstein in the past. Now, Ari Lennox has taken after these men by going off on Instagram live about the whole ordeal.
Ari went in on both Gayle and Oprah, or as she calls them, "Kale and Okra." She called them "some self-hating, pieces of sh*t f*ckasses" and denounced them for "tearing down the legacies of so many phenomenal, beautiful black men," possibly referring to Oprah's documentary on Russell Simmons' rape cases and Gayle's famous interview with R. Kelly. Ari declares that she "doesn't have time for it" anymore, and that these two women "don't care about black people."

Those some have agreed with these sentiments, Ari's rant has garnered her some serious criticism from others.
Oprah Tearfully Says Gayle King’s "Not Doing Well" After Kobe Backlash
Gayle King has been facing heavy criticism following her controversial interview with Lisa Leslie.
Gayle King has been under fire over the last few days after interviewing Lisa Leslie, a long time friend of Kobe Bryant. The interview touched on many points but it was the question about Kobe's rape case that drew many criticisms on social media. She asked whether Lisa Leslie felt conflicted with honoring Kobe's legacy because of the case. The former WNBA champ said no but the subject itself had people like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Boosie Badazz coming for her on social media.
View this post on InstagramOprah Winfrey addressed this during a recent interview on Today, revealing that the death threats have put Gayle in a bad place. "She is not doing well," Winfrey said tearfully. "She is not doing well because she now has death threats and has to now travel with security. She is feeling very much attacked."
Gayle King recently aired out her displeasure for the interview, calling out CBS for baiting the situation with the promo clip when, in fact, they did a wide-ranging interview covering a variety of topics. King said that the clip, in particular, was taken out of context. According to TMZ, even some of her own staffers said that the interview itself actually painted Kobe in a great light. A rep for CBS said that they did fail Gayle in this situation. "Gayle conducted a thoughtful, wide-ranging interview with Lisa Leslie about the legacy of Kobe Bryant. An excerpt was posted that did not reflect the nature and tone of the full interview. We are addressing the internal process that led to this and changes have already been made," the rep said.

Russell Westbrook Dedicates 41-Point Game To Kobe Bryant: Watch
Westbrook went off last night.
Heading into the game last night between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets, there was this thought that the Lakers would dominate thanks to the Rockets' small lineup. In the end, this wasn't the case as the Rockets went on to win the game by an impressive score of 121-111. The Lakers didn't seem to have an answer for the Rockets' small-ball offense. Not to mention, Russell Westbrook went off with a 41-point performance that had fans shook.
After the game, Westbrook spoke about his performance and how much it meant to him. As he explains, Kobe Bryant was a mentor of his and every time he steps out onto the court, he is trying to honor his legacy. It's safe to say Bryant would have been impressed with that performance, especially since it went down in the Staples Center.
“It’s a blessing that I don’t take none of this game for granted. Kobe was a mentor a friend, a brother to me. Every time I step on this floor, it’s definitely going out to him," Westbrook said.
With the win, the Rockets are now Fourth in the Western Conference with a record of 33-18. After this latest win, it's clear the Rockets are still contenders despite their small stature.
Snoop Dogg & 50 Cent Propose A Gayle King Trade For Nancy Pelosi
Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent have been criticizing Gayle King for asking Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant’s rape trial and how it affects his legacy.
The tragic death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and eight others in a helicopter crash several weeks ago shook the world to its core. That’s how impactful the Los Angeles Lakers legend was. Throughout his career on the court, he employed his Mamba Mentality to win titles and off the court, he used it to be the best father to his girls and an exemplary husband to his longtime love Vanessa Bryant. Not only is the basketball community feeling his loss but the entire world is as well. Gayle King spent time with Lisa Leslie to chat with her about her friendship with the late star and, in a viral clip, she discusses the rape trial that Bryant was involved in in 2003. People are being very critical of her questions and King has since explained that the video going around is from a much longer interview that has yet to air. Despite her explanation, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg have been lobbying against the television personality, urging her to refrain from speaking further about Kobe and even suggesting a “trade” between her and Nancy Pelosi.
Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesBoth Pelosi and King were in headline news this week. King for her Kobe Bryant question and Nancy Pelosi for ripping up one of Donald Trump’s speeches on live television. With the NBA trade deadline occurring this week, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent want to extend the finish line a bit to allow a trade between Pelosi and King, joking that the “black delegation” no longer wants Gayle on their side.
“Yeah fuck it, get her out of here, at least we still got Whoopi,” said Fif in his caption. Snoop posted the same image, adding, “Trade accepted.”
Fair trade or nah?
Gayle King’s Coworkers Livid With CBS After Kobe Bryant Controversy
King's interview continues to stir controversy.
Gayle King has found herself in a bit of a controversy thanks to her recent interview with Lisa Leslie. At one point in the interview, King asks Leslie about Kobe's legacy and whether or not it's been made complicated by his rape case from 2003. Leslie seemed surprised by the questions and immediately began defending Bryant. Many have come out in support of Leslie and have even condemned King for asking disrespectful questions.
Yesterday, King took to Twitter where she apologized and said the clip was taken out of context. In fact, King is blaming CBS for dropping the clip which never should have aired on its own. According to TMZ, King's coworkers are now defending her and are livid with CBS for their decision-making. They say the interview was actually quite complimentary of Kobe and was an honest look at some of his greatest accomplishments.
For now, it seems like King won't be in anyone's good graces anytime soon. Social media has been very critical of her over the past few days and despite her best attempts at apologizing, very few are moving towards her side. Only time will tell whether or not she will be able to fix her image. Meanwhile, CBS has yet to comment on the controversy.
Kobe Bryant’s Memorial Confirmed, Dana White Reveals His Ties To UFC
February 24 may become a Los Angeles holiday.
After removing the thousands of flowers, letters, stuffed animals, and keepsakes from the unofficial memorial set up outside of the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, details about Kobe Bryant’s public service have been shared. On February 24, in honor of the late basketball icon’s jersey number, a public memorial service will be held at the Staples Center for both Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant who died alongside her father in a fatal helicopter crash on January 26.
Kevin Winter / Staff / Getty ImagesObviously, the behind the scenes planning to secure that date was intense as the city of L.A., the police, and the Los Angeles Clippers had to coordinate schedules, reports ABC News. On the evening of the 24th, the Clippers are set to face off against the Memphis Grizzlies at the Staples Center, as well.
TMZ spoke with UFC president Dana White who revealed that the UFC will also honor the fallen basketball legend. “This is the first fight since it happened and yes, we’re gonna do something for Kobe,” he said. “You look at Kobe the basketball player, right? Then the guy that won an Oscar and all of the other things that this guy has accomplished in his life. Well, also, he was one of the big investors in BodyArmor, a company that’s a sponsor of the UFC. He was also an investor in the UFC.”
White revealed that the Wednesday before his death, he spoke with Kobe who told him he’d wish he’d invested more into the UFC. “He was a great dude, he was apart of this company… Kobe Bryant was a good guy in every way that you could possibly be a good guy,” White added. Watch his clip below.
Bill Cosby Praises Snoop Dogg For Defending His Name
Snoop Dogg called out Gayle King and Oprah Winfrey while defending Kobe Bryant, Bill Cosby, and Michael Jackson.
Gayle King is still facing backlash for her interview with Lisa Leslie. Following the leads of 50 Cent and Boosie, Snoop Dogg took aim at Gayle King for bringing up Kobe Bryant’s rape allegations. The rapper went off on Gayle King, calling her a “funky dog headed b*tch” and saying she’s out of pocket for her comments. While he did this, he came to the defense of Bill Cosby and Michael Jackson.
A rep for Cosby shared a statement Instagram thanking Snoop for defending his name and calling for his freedom. At the same time, Cosby publicly spoke out and sent his condolences to the Bryant family as well as the Jackson’s.
“Snoop – when they brought me to my gated community and placed me inside of my penthouse, they didn’t win nor did they silence me. It’s so sad and disappointing that successful Black Women are being used to tarnish the image and legacy of successful Black Men, even in death. Are these people that in need of fame, ratings and/or money? On behalf of myself, Camille and my family, thank you, thank you and thank you. My heartfelt prayers are with Kobe and his family, as well as with Michael Jackson and his family. May their legacies live on forever.”
Snoop Dogg has yet to respond but this isn’t the first time he’s called for Bill Cosby’s freedom. It’s unclear whether Gayle received the message as well. Peep Bill Cosby’s post below.
Anthony Davis’ Kobe Bryant Tattoo Revealed
AD's tattoo artist shares a look at his Black Mamba-inspired ink.
Los Angeles Lakers teammates LeBron James and Anthony Davis recently set out to get some new tattoos in honor of the late, great Kobe Bryant, much like many of the other Laker fans who were impacted by the future Hall of Famer.
LeBron revealed his Black Mamba-inspired ink earlier this week following the team's first game since the Bryant's passing. Davis still has not publicly posted about his tattoo but the artist who took care of him and LeBron, Vanessa Aurelia, recently gave fans a detailed look.
As seen in the third photo of the IG post embedded below, the artwork features a Black Mamba wrapped around Kobe's signature logo. Aurelia captioned the post, "Thank you @antdavis23 for letting me do this piece for you! It was an honor, and thanks for making my job easy , the hospitality and with the trust. ? #RIPKobe#mambamentality."
The Lakers will be back in action on Thursday night as they host the Houston Rockets in a game that will air on TNT at 10:30pm ET. Prior to tipoff, TNT will reveal the results of the annual All Star Draft, in which LeBron has the first overall pick. We all assume he'll go with AD as his No. 1 overall pick, but it will be interesting to see how the rest of the squad shakes out. Coverage of the draft begins at 7pm ET.
LeBron James Condemns Gayle King While Praising Lisa Leslie
Gayle King has made many people upset.
Social media was up in arms yesterday when a clip from Gayle King's interview with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie was revealed. In the clip, King can be seen pressing Leslie about Kobe Bryant's past rape allegations. Leslie appears to be uncomfortable with the questions and continues to tell King that she feels as though it isn't an issue. Despite Leslie's answers, King continued to question her about Kobe's integrity. It was a bizarre interaction that many people took issue with. Since the airing of the clip, King has received a heavy dose of backlash although for now, she is blaming CBS for publishing the snippet without context.
This afternoon, LeBron James took to social media where he praised Leslie for her answers while also condemning King for her line of questioning. "Sorry you had to through that s*%#!!! We are our own worse enemies," LeBron wrote to Leslie.
LeBron recently delivered a beautiful speech to the Staples Center in the first game back after Kobe's passing. James is looking to carry on Bryant's legacy in Los Angeles and it must have been frustrating for him to watch King's interview. Either way, the Lakers are as motivated as ever to win a title and it will be interesting to see how the Lakers continue to play down the stretch.
