Given all that has happened in the last couple of weeks, there haven't been too many high-profile album releases. Labels and artists have pushed back their scheduled singles and projects out of respect as there is something much more important happening in America. With the lack of new music being uploaded to streaming services, rap fans have been listening to their favorite albums from 2020 and, as a direct result, it looks like Lil Baby might end up at the #1 spot next week.

According to the most recent chart projections, Lil Baby is set to reclaim his spot at the #1 placement on the Billboard 200. Moving approximately 60,000 equivalent album units of My Turn in the last seven days, the Atlanta rapper seems poised to get back on top, upstaging Lady Gaga and her latest release. He's currently got some close competition but he's inching out the second position ever-so-slightly.
Lady Gaga just dropped her new album Chromatica, which is battling Lil Baby's My Turn for the top spot. As it stands, she will remain strong at #2 with approximately 55,000 equivalent album units moved.
It looks like Lil Baby released an album that will stand the test of time. Is My Turn one of your favorite projects of the year?
Lil Yachty & Freddie Gibbs Overshadowed By Lady Gaga On Charts
The updated first-week sales numbers for Lil Yachty and Freddie Gibbs have been released.
Lady Gaga has a clear path to debut at the top spot on next week’s Billboard 200.
The pop superstar has been leading the field in terms of first-week sales projections and, in a batch of updated figures, it looks like she’s still charging forward as the leader of the pack. With a total of approximately 285,000 equivalent album units moved, she’s looking guaranteed for an easy route to the #1 spot. On top of all that, the majority of her numbers account for pure album sales.
As for hip-hop, we’re still represented well in the top-moving albums of the week. Several of the genre’s most popular characters, including Lil Baby, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Post Malone, Drake, and DaBaby, are within or just outside of the Top 10 for this week’s biggest albums.

Lil Yachty and Freddie Gibbs (with The Alchemist) came through with some booming new albums this week too, but neither of which is expected to debut within the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Lil Yachty’s Lil Boat 3 is currently anticipated to move up to 37,000 equivalent album units, making it good for a debut around #12.
Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are two spots down at #14, looking at up to 32,000 equivalent album units with the majority of them accounting for pure sales.

DaBaby Rises, Megan Thee Stallion Slides, & Lady Gaga Wins In Hot 100 Update
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande go #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their collaborative single "Rain On Me."
Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé teamed up to deliver an ultra-hyped remix of "Savage," which eventually carried its weight all the way to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. After spending just one week at the pole position, the song has slid down one spot to allow room for Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande to grab the throne.
With the release of her anticipated new album Chromatica, Lady Gaga is preparing to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 next week. Already, she's celebrating this new era in her storied career with a brand new #1 single in "Rain On Me," which marks the second time that Ariana Grande has been featured at the top of the chart this year.
One week after experiencing his highest peak on the chart, DaBaby beat his own personal record and peaked again at #3 with "ROCKSTAR," his latest collaboration with Roddy Ricch.
The following two spots are saved for two songs that have had their own dominant runs on the Hot 100: The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" and Doja Cat's "Say So."
This is the third all-female collaboration to strike the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 in recent weeks. It is also the first of the bunch to debut at #1 in the chart's history. In addition to that, this becomes Lady Gaga's fifth #1 single and Ariana Grande's fourth.
Wale Says Pop Artists Don’t Work With Rappers Unless They’re Charting Or White
A fan asked Wale to work with Lady Gaga again, but said pop artists don't like rappers unless they're topping the charts.
In music, fans love to hear a good crossover. When artists from differing genres come together to make hits, it can be a chart-topper or a dumpster fire. Either way, fans seem to enjoy hearing genres collide like when Christina Aguilera and Redman did “Dirrty," Brad Paisley and LL Cool J gave us “Accidental Racist," and Nelly and Tim McGraw had everyone singing "Over & Over."

Back in 2009, Wale released his debut album Attention Deficit along with his lead single, "Chillin," featuring none other than pop princess Lady Gaga. The Cool & Dre-produced track came about because the two artists were introduced to one another by Mark Ronson, Wale's friend and mentor. A fan took to Twitter recently with a quick message to Wale: "work with @ladygaga again." Others liked and agreed, but the rapper said that things behind the scenes make collaborations more complicated for some artists.
"Y’all got to understand these fantasy features work two ways," Wale responded. "Pop people don’t wanna work wit us unless we sittin in that top 40 or unless it’s a white rapper .. prove me wrong." Can you prove him wrong? Let us know what your favorite unlikely collaboration has been over the years and who else you'd like to see link up.

Chadwick Boseman Talks "Operation 42" Video, Fans Voice Concern Over Look
Chadwick Boseman just wanted to raise awareness about a charitable effort, but the "Black Panther" star was met with questions about his health.
Noteworthy names are lending their platforms to help aid in COVID-19 relief efforts. Lady Gaga reportedly quietly raised $35 million dollars, Michael Che is paying the rent for 160 units in an entire apartment complex, Twitter's Jack Dorsey has pledged $1 billion toward charitable efforts, Jay Z has donated tens of thousands of masks to prisons, and Rihanna has given millions of dollars as well as ventilators to hospitals. Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman shared a video to his Instagram page on Wednesday (April 15) to speak about "Operation 42," but it was his appearance that captured viewers' attention.

"I am hearing stories of desperation from people all over the country, and we know our communities are suffering the most and urgently need help," the actor wrote in the caption of his clip. "Celebrating #JackieRobinsonDay with the launch of Thomas Tull’s #Operation42, a donation of 4.2 million dollars in personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals that service the African American Communities who have been hit the hardest by the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you, Jackie, for refusing to accept the world as it is, for showing us that we can make a difference."
Chadwick, who is often portrayed as a fit figure, looked as if he'd lost a little bit of weight. It could be the upward-facing angle that made the actor look different than normal, but comments came pouring in across social media platforms. Some fans shared messages of earnest concern for his health, while others insisted that he must have changed his appearance for a role. Check out the video from Chadwick Boseman below.

Lady Gaga looks toward the future in a new photoshoot for Paper Magazine, stripping nude and serving as the cover star.
Several years ago, Kim Kardashian West attempted to break the internet by posing nude on the cover of Paper Magazine. She balanced a glass of champagne on her booty and gave a coy look to the camera. Lady Gaga isn’t exactly grabbing the baton from the reality star but she’s on a similar tip, stripping down to her birthday suit for the artistic publication and going full-on futuristic for the display.
This weekend, the pop star went viral for her statement about COVID-19, urging her followers to be kind to one another during this social distancing period. She also created headlines because of her new cover with Paper Magazine, getting strapped up to a crazy-looking machine in their Transformation copy.
It feels right for Lady Gaga to grace this issue, given the changes she’s undergone in her career over the last five years. After she was viewed as one of the most avant-garde artists of our generation, Gaga flipped the script and began flexing her classically-trained pipes. She released a jazz album with Tony Bennett before penning one of the most successful soundtrack songs in recent memory, “Shallow” from A Star Is Born. Now, she’s well on her way to rolling out her new album Chromatica and she’s going back to her shocking visuals to promote it.

Vince Herbert, Tamar Braxton’s Ex, Refuses To Pay $380K Judgement
Vince Herbert allegedly refused to pay a creditor $380K from a previous lawsuit.
Record producer/executive Vince Herbert, also known as Tamar Braxton‘s ex-husband, is finding himself in some financial turmoil after he refused to pay an owed debt of approximately $380,000. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Herbert had previously lost a lawsuit to a creditor called LDNX Records but has refused to hand over the funds causing the company to open yet another legal claim. In the past year, Herbert’s financial woes have come in droves of different types of lawsuits for unfulfilling his duties of payment to several different types of entities. Now, a new development in Vince Herbert’s financial strains has some wondering if the producer is financially stable following new legal action being opened against him in a New York Court.

The newly filed court documents state that LDNX Records obtained a judgment over Herbert for the amount of $380,492.63 last year, but have not been able to receive their justified payment from Braxton’s estranged husband after trying to get in contact with the executive multiple times. The company allegedly attempted to get creative reaching out to artists he’s worked with in the past including Lady Gaga and Remy Ma.
With no luck, LDNX Records has been forced to open up another official lawsuit against Herbert’s Streamline Records in hope that the judicial system will force the executive to pay up. The creditor is hoping for the judge to grant the motion for them to begin seizing Herbert’s property and assets. The document reads:
“Despite Plaintiff’s repeated efforts to obtain payment from Defendant relating to the Award, the Defendant has failed and refused to pay any portion of the Award.” It continues, “(We want) the sum of THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-TWO AND 63/100 DOLLARS ($380,492.63), with interest from June 26, 2017, plus costs, is actually due and owing from Defendant to Plaintiff.”
During the initial court dispute, LDNX demanded Herbert be held in contempt of court for failing to turn over his financial records and blowing off his court-ordered duties for months. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg in regards to Vince Herbert’s courtroom battles.
In March 2019, he was sued for a total of $38K over unpaid rent in a swanky Los Angeles condo. The following month, it was revealed that the record label owner owed over $4 million in back taxes. Then in Sept. 2019, Herbet was accused of funneling and hiding funds in order to avoid paying Sony Music $3.7 million in owed funds.
Hopefully, Vince Herbert’s financial woes aren’t as bad as they appear to be from the outside looking in and he takes accountability for his actions and pays the companies what they’re owed. As of right now, a judge has yet to rule against LDNX’s latest legal action against Herbert. Stick with us as details unfold.

DJ Khaled, who took home the Grammy Award for Best rap/Sung Performance for his single “Higher,” featuring the prolific and late-Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, will be performing at several parties in his hometown of Miami including the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest’s EA Sports Bowl, the VEWTOPIA Music Festival, and Rolling Stone’s party. In an interview with the Associated Press, the mega-producer had this to say about his Super Bowl plans:
“Oh yeah, we’re definitely celebrating (this) week. I remember Super Bowl came here 10 years ago and it was a special time. We want to make this special, too. I’m excited it’s in Miami.”
Coming off of her Grammy Award victories, Lizzo will also be making an appearance in Miami performing at the SiriusXM & Pandora Opening Drive Super Concert Series and then at the Planet Pepsi Zero Sugar party alongside Harry Styles and others.
Cardi B has been booked to perform at an upcoming trailer reveal party for Fast & Furious 9 as well as a late-night performance at LIV and VEWTOPIA as a headlining act. Lady Gaga, who performed during the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show will provide entertainment for the AT&T TV Super Saturday Night audience while Post Malone hits the stage at the Bootsy On the Water pop-up.
Shaquille O’Neal, who’s been struggling immensely with the death of Kobe Bryant, will be bringing his carnival-themed music festival, Shaq’s Fun House to Miami for Super Bowl LIV. The festival featuring performances by Diddy, Diplo, Pitbull, himself as DJ Diesel, and more will donate 100% of its proceeds to the Vanessa & Kobe Bryant Foundation as well as the families who lost loved ones in this past week’s helicopter accident.
In an Instagram post, the Hall of Fame center revealed that he almost canceled his upcoming event stating:
“Part of me wanted to stay to myself as I reflect what my brother and his family mean to me and my family. But in thinking what would Kobe want, what would he do? Kobe would want us to push through and celebrate life. So let’s just do that.”
While the world might not have Kobe and Gianna Bryant to provide us with the drive we need to be our best selves, life will continue on and force the masses to be accountable for our own greatness. Check out Shaq’s post about the loss of his brother below and tune into Super Bowl LIV this Sunday at 6:30 P.M. EST on FOX.
